Feb 3, 2014Vini posted a message on Launch Giveaway!A card I appreciate a lot right now is Noble Hierarch. I play it in Bant Exalted and BUG infect. Its cheap casting cost combined with the exalted mechanic and the mana acceleration makes it a very efficient creature. It helps you cast your bigger threats and even participates in combat by granting exalted.Posted in: Announcements

The wording on Otherworld Atlas is a little weird to me. Since it says you draw for each counter on it, does this mean you draw one card at a time? In that case, it does not work with Alms Collector.
Hey, I've had my peasant cube for over 5 years now. The only difference with yours is that I stick to 360 cards since I rarely draft at more than 4 or 6 individuals. Honestly, your list is pretty stock. You're generally playing the best cards available that are good on their own and some other cards that are better when combined with others. Overall your cube seems solid I'd say. Also, some choices boil down to personal taste too so I can hardly tell you to play one card over another.
For your concern about themes/archetypes, it depends on how much you want them played and how reliably they can be drafted. In my 360 cube I have a few themes like Aristocrats, Blink/ETB effects and tokens/anthems. For them to work, I usually push them pretty hard. Like for Aristocrats I have between 10 to 15 cards that supports this archetype directly(3-4% of the cube) and even more that supports it indirectly. Like all the token producing cards are good for the token archetype but also for the aristocrats archetype.
So I'd say that you need to play-test your cube and tweek it accordingly by adding or removing cards if it ends up too powerful or to weak. No matter what, I usually tend to select cards that are good on their own. I often ask myself the question: If I top-deck this card with an empty board, how lackluster will it be? It helps me weed out the worst cards and make the appropriate cuts.
My question to you is, did the +1/+1 counter theme ever workout. I'd like to implement this theme in my cube but I'm wondering how good it can be.
If anyone else wants to pitch in their two cents, feel free to do so.
I'm moving into Sneak and Show, I playtested it a bit but I never really had to play against it since no one is playing it in my meta. So it's the first time I'm really looking up on the deck. I know that different versions of the deck exist, like most decks. There's one with omniscience, cunning wish, and intuition mainboard(http://mtgtop8.com/event?e=14544&d=287254&f=LE) and the other version just showed up in the top 8 of the last legacy GP(http://mtgtop8.com/event?e=14415&d=286242&f=LE). So what I wanted to know is the major differences when playing each of the versions and the pros and cons of each. If anyone could inform me it would be appreciated, thanks :).

One card I haven't seen a lot in sideboards is Leyline of Sanctity, probably because it isn't a creature but it has been awesome. It helps out versus so many decks. This FNM I fought through Jund, Junk, monoU tron and burn. Leyline helped me in every match up. Got first place in the FNM. I can see it as a very useful card against scapeshift, 8rack, Storm and jeskai ascendancy too. Has anybody else tried the Leyline? Any comment is appreciated.
I didn't quite understand what you meant by that. Did you mean you felt it like win more.
Yep playtested it this weekend, win-more and pretty dead in hand and with pod.
I have Entomber Exarch in the SB and Siege Rhino main. Entomber Exarch is excellant, but the Rhino puts a lot of pressure on the opponent and is not that easy to deal with. The 3 drain life is good too. For the time being I'll continue playtesting main because sometimes I feel that we lack pressure. I play melira pod by the way here's my build (pretty standard) :
3 Noble Hierarch
3 Kitchen Finks
3 Voice of Resurgeance
1 Siege Rhino
1 Wall of Roots
1 Melira, Sylvok Outcast
1 Spellskite
1 Eternal Witness
1 Reveillark
1 Murderous Redcap
1 Ranger of Eos
1 Qasali Pridemage
1 Scavenging Ooze
1 Viscera Seer
1 Orzhov Pontiff
1 Reclamation Sage
1 Skriekmaw
1 Linvala, Keeper of Silence
1 Restoration Angel
2 Chord of Calling
2 Abrupt Decay
4 Windswept Heath
3 Verdant Catacombs
3 Forest
3 Razorverge Thicket
2 Gavony Township
2 Overgrown Tomb
2 Temple Garden
1 Marsh Flats
1 Godless Shrine
1 Swamp
1 Plains
2 Thoughtseize
1 Entomber Exarch
1 Sin Collector
1 Obstinath Baloth
1 Abrupt Decay
1 Slaughter Pact

1 Dismember
1 Orzhov Pontiff
1 Creeping Corrosion
1 Eidolon of Rhetoric
1 Burrenton Forge-Tender
1 Kataki, War’s Wage
1 Lingering Souls
The SB probably needs a little work.
I usually play UGB but I'm very curious of playing a simpler version of infect like this one. Seems pretty solid to me, what do you guys think. Even if the sideboard options are a little limited you can still find a little something that helps against the main archtypes.
The use of three cathedral of war is pretty interesting, when I had a UG build the Cathedral always helped me get that last poison counter in.
Here is an excellent article on the different types of infect decks by Tom Ross : http://www.starcitygames.com/article/29183_The-Many-Faces-Of-Modern-Infect.html
If you're wondering which colors to play, it's pretty helpful.
Over all very happy of the reprint, just wasted a whole lot of money on a preorder, probably to expensive but I have no intension of selling them so in a couple of years it won’t matter.
