It just occurred to me that it's been over 10 years now since the very first Cube was used in the Invitational in 2007. It was only about a year-and-a-half after that but I started making my own.
I think one of the most surprising things I've seen now is how solid even 720 card cubes are now. I remember starting with a 180 card cube that primarily only got drafted between me and my friend at work.
Not to be blunt, but... are you sure you read this correctly? We've come to think of Fireball as too slow/expensive to kill multiple creatures and this is even worse.
The appeal for me, is Instant speed. And our choices for pauper for instant speed mass removal is low in red. I could use rock slide, but I hate the attacking/blocking non-flying restrictions.
granted I don't like the "rounded down" part either.
If rolling thunder was instant this would be no issue.
There just doesn't seem to be anything that helps there. I'll check again.
Violent Surge1R
Instant
Violent Surge deals 3 damage to target creature or player. If that player or creature has already been dealt damage this turn transform Violent Surge instead.
Volatile Spray----
Instant
Volatile Spray deals 5 damage divided as you choose among one, two, or three target creatures and/or players.
It's still probably pretty far away unless it's rare or mythic, not that rarity really matters for us.
EDIT: Nvm, read that as 2/1 double striker. A 1/1 double striker is way more feasible soon, although we're still probably at least 2 years out unless it ends up in a supplemental product.
I don't think you'll see a 2/1 double striker printed for at any rarity, ever
You should never never. I've gotten blasted in the print this thread for outrageous cards that actually did get printed. So, yeah.
I don't see how gaining +1 toughness, and being limited to your opponents creatures makes this better than Nek. Sometimes the knee-jerk reactions to new cards is odd around here.
In the change log blog over on cube tutor, you can see all the changes from the cut. I think there's even a colorless section to look through.
Oh nice! And not a huge list of cuts either. Excellent. Do you know how much land (basic) you had on reserve for people to make decks with in your 540?
The cube underwent a massive change over the weekend. Dropped to 405 cards!
There's a lot of information and data that I'll post later, and tomorrow I plan to update the OP. But for now, the CubeTutor link is up to date, and shows the cuts to 405 in each section.
Hey there, do you by chance still have the cube list of your 540? I was just about to add colorless and was using your list as my construct.

How about you?
Mine was like Quiron Dryad.
Thanks!
Inferno, now that would be an interesting rareshift that would solve a lot of issues

at sorcery speed too. It's fine imo.
I think we forget, we want cards for the cube. Not for the general public. At least that is what I have always seen this thread as.
