I don't understand why people complain about how late Batman comes in, I found the content of the movie up until then fine anyway.
It's not because we're action junkies or something like that. I just think it shows how painfully slow the plot is moving. It just didn't feel like a Batman movie. Shrugs

I'm pretty content with how 2012 turned out. I don't think I made any New Year's resolutions for it, but I think I accomplished most of what I wanted to get done.

My New Year's resolution for 2013 is to improve socially and go out of my comfort zone more often and just overall be a friendlier person. I graduate high school in the spring so I'm at the point where I really don't even want to care about making new friends in high school, but I need to improve for college in the fall. That's the main resolution. I try to stay away from super deep self-improvement ones because I never follow through with them and I can't exactly make good gameplans to accomplish them, so I think what I have here is a pretty good and simple goal. Besides that, I need to put on more muscle from exercising so hopefully I can stick with that.

Funny, I also just finally watched that on the 26th.

I enjoyed it. I don't know, I found The Dark Knight farfetched but was ok with it too. If you're walking into a Nolan movie expecting it to not be farfetched and overwritten you can hardly blame the movie.
The Dark Knight was those things, but to a lesser extent. TDKR felt like it had nearly as many plotholes as Prometheus, and it was way less enjoyable than TDK. You don't even see Batman until like 45 minutes in! Bane was a lot less interesting than the Joker, too.

You have to wonder what the coaching staff is doing with him. Basically the entire world realizes that one of the big things that has been holding the Thunder back is KD not getting enough shots, particularly in clutch time. No small part of this has been Westbrook sprinting down court as fast as humanly possible and jacking up a long 2 with 18-20 seconds on the shot clock.
I know. You have to think that if KD had taken every shot in the last two minutes of the Heat game that they would have probably been able to win it. But Westbrook decides it's a good idea to shoot as soon as he pulls up into the arc... And then he misses. It's the same story every time they have to be clutch. KD is the only one that can deliver in the 4th.

Kingdom hearts 1 & 2 for ps2. I've got the time to play but I've just been to lazy to pick'em up. Heard good things about the series though.
Sadly they haven't held up well. They're two of my favorite games of all time, but I played them a year ago and they just did not play as well as I'm used to from this generation. The nostalgic value and cool (if impossible to understand) story kept me around though.

I've wanted to play Saints Row 3 for a while but I've never gotten around to picking it up. That's really the only one I can think of. I've been lucky enough to have the free time to play lots of the games I've wanted to.

I read the first 3 issues. I didn't like it as much as I hoped. Its clearly a high quality book, but it just wasn't doing it for me for some reason. I would agree with Vaughan's pitch. Its got a Romeo and Juliet forbidden love thing mashed up with Game of Thrones style political intrigue and Star Wars style epic fantasy universe.

You might enjoy it. Its got alot of good things about it. I'm not sure why I didn't relate to it, just personal I guess. It seemed pretty good, I just wasn't interested for some reason.
Gotcha. I'll pick up the paperback and try it, I guess. I'll pay the $10 even if it's just for looking at the art in case I totally hate the story. It's got really pretty pictures. Kekeke

GDW's is the best. It's a relevant thing and somehow ties arts and crafts into it. Tongue

Yeah, KD is our 2010's equivalent of MJ. For sure. Once he gets his defense a little better he will get close to his level of playing, honestly (not saying he is better, Jordan's career was much more decorated. But KD is only 24). Plus he is a significantly more humble person than LeBron and that's all I need to look at to understand I like KD more when I compare him and LBJ side by side.

But yeah, Russell should move to the 2. He played that in college. But I don't think it's going to improve his shot choices. He will never learn that he is not good at running like a cheetah, stopping on a dime, and shooting a jump shot.

I voted for PS2. It helped bring us to where we are in the console war today, I feel like it has sold enough hardware to bridge the gap between here and the moon, and it has some of the greatest games of all time on it, especially from a first party perspective. Many of its greatest games are at the top of all time sales lists. The system finally got support cut from it just the other day in Japan when the last PS2 game ever was released. That's like a 12 year run. Best console ever.

This just in: Wade is going to play Kicker for the Miami Dolphins next season :p
But you're right, yes. I'm really enjoying the Clippers this year. And it's not all about high flying offense. They're taking care of their D, nowadays.
And what's that I hear about Phil Jackson going to Brooklyn? Do we have ourselves a fresh new Championship Contender?
On another note, I'm not liking what I see from my Thunder Frown Durant+Westbrook aren't enough to win a ring. The rest of the team needs to step up...
The Clippers bench is also out-of-this-world good. They score half the team's points every night. I am not happy about what they did to my Celtics last night, but in the long run if the Clippers can beat Miami in the Finals then I am okay with that. The Celtics need a lot of work done.

And nah, Phil Jackson will never go to Brooklyn. There is not enough talent there for him to work with.

And I hate to say it but you're right. But to be honest, the team will never win big with Westbrook at point guard. I watch them a lot, but I have never seen him make worse decisions than he did last night and on Wednesday in Miami. He is honestly a terrible point guard, and I'm not sure his decision making would be much better at the 2.

Anyone checked this series out? It started this year in March, written by Brian K. Vaughan (Y: The Last Man, Lost, Ex Machina, etc.) and illustrated by Fiona Staples. It has consistently gotten love from critics and is on basically every Top 10 Comic or Graphic Novel list for 2012. IGN said it was the best new series.

Vaughan described it as "Star Wars meets Game of Thrones" and critics say it's evocative of LotR and Romeo and Juliet. And from what I read on the Amazon preview of the graphic novel collecting issues 1-6, that's about right. Very mature and well written with some amazing art.

Anyone looked into it? I'm really close to buying the first volume. These kind of comic book series are very refreshing and really the only ones that interest me anymore. I think they bring a lot more to the table than superhero ones.

Ah, I love seeing the Lakers lose Los Angeles' spotlight. The media is not allowing it but everyone knows the Clippers are running LA right now. I love seeing the Clippers finally do something with their organization, even if it means throw alley-oops every other possession.

If CP3 was not on the Clippers, I'm sure Bledsoe would be starting and he just wouldn't be able to handle it.

EDIT: Anyone see Wade kick Sessions in the jewels for no reason? I don't normally wish this, but I hope someone returns the favor (or worse). He's been getting away with **** like that his whole career. C'mon karma!

Yeah, the console game. I'm really enjoying it, but it's just not all that satisfying. I thought it'd really make me feel like a badass. Still fun though.

Das Racist was losing it's magic anyway. Their newer stuff was getting less good. I like them more solo, actually.

In other news, Capital STEEZ is dead. He died early on Christmas eve, actually, but I've been busy. I'm pretty ****ed up over it, dude was the best part of Pro Era, and modern New York rap in general. Dude reminded me of Nas with lyrics, and his beat selection was somewhere between MF Doom and Ghostface, but his flow was so much more diverse than all of them. I think, after an album or two (he only had a mixtape and a bunch of features), he would have gone down as a legend of New York rap, the way he can just effortlessly dart between underground intensity and old school relaxation, and the way Lyricism was always a key part of his music. Dude wrote most of the **** that everyone else in Pro Era said anyway.

His last words were a tweet, that read "The End." Bastard killed himself on us.
Yeah. Suicide. I regret to say I did not know him, since I don't follow Joey Bada$$'s crew or any other obscure rap gangs, but I listened to his stuff and he was good. Only 19 years old... He had a bright future ahead of him. That's really disappointing.

    ---

So I listened to No Love Deep Web. I really did not like it as much as Money Store. The beats were hollow, I really felt like I was drugged up listening to MC Ride yell at me and then go back to rapping with no regard for the beat's tempo, and the songs really weren't memorable. I think I actually had to fast forward through some parts of songs because they were making me uncomfortable (in a bad way). Whammy was my favorite one, and the last two songs were my other favorites -- the ones that ironically sounded most like Money Store songs.

If anything, I will remember the album because it solidified them as total anarchists and the release got them dropped from a label.

It's been like a month since my last post so I'll make a new one.

Wow, the Nets just fired Avery Johnson after he was named Coach of the Month twice. You can only coach so much when your guys are missing wide open shots!

I honestly blame Deron Williams. He is a locker room disease and isn't much better on the court. Deron is 2 for 2 at coach-killing in his career, which is about 65% more accurate than his shot attempts this year.
