The ikoria triomes don’t have the original names (femur, sultai, etc) so why does it matter if these do?

I think, it matters less whether they are Grixis Triome etc. and more whether they are triomes to begin with. If they made a new plane with arc colors that makes sense with triomes that probably would be fine, too. It's just weird that one half of the cycle adheres to such a strict naming convention and the other half doesn't.

Yeah, I get it. I can’t really think of another land cycle though that follows this pattern except the guild gates. Shocks, pain lands, fetches, check lands, fast lands, tango lands, man lands... none of them have this type of a naming convention, so I wouldn’t expect the triomes to do something different. The name “triome” I think just fit thematically with a set all about beasts and their liars. I.E. different beasts from different habitats. This set is more like ravnica, and the lands represent places in the different factions lairs much like temple gardens and watery graves in ravnica.

Because the Ikoria triomes set the precedent for these lands, and the Tarkir clans didn't? I didn't think that needed to be explained.
I'm not saying that they NEED to follow the same naming convention. I just think it was a missed opportunity, and that "triome" is an elegant name to retain for the allied cycle.

Ah I see, I thought you were upset about the new triomes being named for their in world locations instead of the Alara shards (as you stated); which is why I referenced the current triomes not being named after the enemy shards (khans). I guess I just didn’t understand why you were upset in conjunction with your reference of shards of alara. Either way, all ten will be called triomes by players and the UBR one will be called the “grixis triome” just like the current URG is called the “temur” or “rug” triome by enfranchised players. I wouldn’t sweat what there actual names are, barely anyone will know them.

If they aren’t going to keep expanding on the original story arch of urza, the wheatherlight, Karn, etc. then give me something zany or fresh... I’ll take this over more of the gate watch justice league or a bastardized kamigawa plot (original kamigawa was straight cash, so of course they went in a totally different direction)

If the magic universe equivalent has a different name, won’t that make the secret lair ones even more valuable for commander; like Ravages of War compared to Armageddon?

Nope, the two cards will officially be considered the same, so any given commander deck can only have one from each pair.

That would be to the best way to do it. Where is that info coming from? The tweet doesn’t state that.
