Check his manabase. Every single land he runs produces either G or R.
I've been thinking about making the same deck. I made a couple lists, but they really didn't click.
I don't think that Bitterblossom is the best choice considering you run 8 painlands. Off the top of my head, I don't know what to replace it with.
Naya Charm isn't the best you can do to be honest. Eyeblight's Ending is much better removal; Primal Command is better at recursion (also provides some much needed life gain); and this isn't the kind of deck that needs tap effects to swarm. Your creatures are just much better than your opponent's, so they just bash into them.
FoD is the same thing, just 1 card.
Ram-Gang:
t1 llanowar
t2 Ram-Gang, attack 3 damage
t3 Attack with Ram-Gang and Llanowar Elves for 7 damage.
FoD
t1 FoD
t2 pump FoD, attack 2 damage
t3 Pump FoD, attack 6 damage.
t4 Opponent doesn't cast Firespout because here's no point
Or with Gruul, instead you drop Boartusk Liege on your third turn and essentially let them Firespout away your 2/2 Llanowar Elves. Even with that third tun, they are down to 10 life, and you're sporting Flame Javelin/Incinerate/more hasty creatures. And they're tapped out.
With Figure, on turn 3, in response to the pump, it gets Terror'd, or Condemned on the attack. Yeah, it's only a 1 for 1, but your board is empty after having done only 2 damage, which took a 3 turn investment. If you drop something like Boartusk Liege, they untap on their turn 4 facing very little pressure at 18 life. That's much less frightening.

Not a bad design. There a just a few small issues:
1) Birds is not gonna come out Turn 1 with only 4 green sources that come into play untapped. I would cut BoP for Shorecrasher Mimic (I think that some Mimics are playable, he could be great in this deck).
2) 12 CIPT lands is too many. Cut Vivid Grove for another Flooded Grove and 3x Mystic Gate.
If you want to keep the BoP's, then I suggest that you have only 2x vivid Creek and 4x Bant Shardland, and have 7-8 green sources that come into play untapped.
Ideas for the other 6x Slots: Snakeform, Dream Fracture, Bloom Tender, Thistledown Liege. Just to name a few choices.
The r/w avatar strikes me as the best for an aggro style. If you curve out, with Light from Within, it'll almost always be a 5th turn kill. Soltari Priest is also probably the second best two drop for the deck, behind Meadowgrain.
If you decide to go the R/W route with the Hearthfire Hobgoblin and Nobilis, then I would include Simian Spirit Guide or Rite of Flame. Then you could hope to live the dream and go:
Turn 1: Goldmeadow Stalwart
Turn 2: SSG, Hearthfire Hobgoblin
Turn 3: SSG, Light From Within, Swing for 13
Well, from the trailer, some of the scenes look well done. Like, where Dr. Manhattan creates the castle on Mars, and the design of Archie.
Though it seems that the jailbreak scenes might be more indepth than in the novel.
In an unrelated thought, does anyone think that they will start the movie with the death of the Comedian? Snyder said that even if you didn't read the novel you will be able to enjoy the movie, but the death of the Comedian is pretty critical as the beginning of then novel.
If you want to look for "In" fashion for men, generally magazines like Men's Health and GQ have fashion tips for you.
However the style that they preach is a very New York City-edgy-2008 beatnik design. It obviously doesn't work for all men, but its just whats popular at the moment.
If you have Treefolk cards, you might as well play Murmuring Bosk. Its a half-way Pain Land, and pretty much just better than Vivid Grove in this deck.
Plus it counts as a forest for the Hag Hedge-Mage.
The 'thresher and Naturalize come in for Finks and Primal Command, respectively, against Fae, and the Macabre and Snakeform come in for Finks and Flame Javelin, respectively, against Lark. I haven't really had any trouble with any other decks, so I like the SB for the moment. Snakeform is tech. I don't have anything to fill the last SB spot, so I've just been putting my foil Worldpurge in to look pretty.
I really like the list. I'm a huge fan of BRG aggro. The other card that I don't really like is Mogg Fanatic. Against decks like Quick n' Toast, Reveillark, and Ramp its not very good.
In its place I suggest Shadow Guildmage. It adds to the turn 1 B consistency (Guildmage+Thoughtseize) and allows you to drop Sulfurous Springs, which lowers the pain you would take overall. Its also better vs Faeries, though slightly worse against Elves, which seems like a more than fair tradeoff.
Uuuuuuum , Talara's batallion??? 4/3 trampler for 2 seems good?
I think that the battalion has potential. Everyone writes it off as a POS that is a terrible late game topdeck. Yeah, so is Thoughtseize, Nameless Inversion (sometimes), Llanowar Elves, and Boreal Druid, but they still see play.
Flores put it best (Christ I never thought I'd say those words) when he said that we forgo the weaknesses of some cards (as drastic as they may be) because they are SO GOOD when they are optimal.
I mean, going turn 1 Llany, into turn 2 Druid/Battalion is a SICK start and puts every deck in the format on a clock (RDW as well because they have to Incinerate the Battalion).
Goyf is sometimes a 0/1 on turn 2, but people still play him because he can be a two mana 4/5 on turn 4.
I work as a busboy for a new, upcoming restaurant in a rather wealthy section of a generally wealthy area.
IE, I get tipped well.
We work in two shifts, the 10:30-4 and the 4-closing. In the 10:30-4 shift, you can expect to make $70, and in the 4-closing (closing usually being 12 or 1 AM for bussers, and 11/11:30 for servers), you can expect to make close to $120 (if you're a waiter, you're making $200+).
The work is hard sometimes, and occasionally we are understaffed, but the pluses are that meals are 20% off and after work you get a drink for free (if you're of age ;)).
Plus I get to work with some of the cute waitresses and hostesses. Not too bad.
Looks like figure of destiny will be a chase rare...good in kithkin.. burn decks, ...return of boros maybe
I initially though that Figure of Destiny would be a sick card. I was excited for Boros again.
But then I realized a major flaw with it. It makes you waste turns making it good. You don't want to spend other turns making it into a good card. You should just play good cards.
Maybe in some other deck that I don't know of, but I don't think that Boros is the right deck for Figure.
yo , I like the avatar Merlin, I see you stay G'd up like I do. Also did anyone peep the new set yet?? Seems like it's shaping up to be a steaming pile. I think I've seen one good card in it so far and it's UNMAKE. The rest of the cards look to be fun in limited though....not much constructed worthy as of yet.
Thanks DMX. Yeah, I do stay G'd.
I think your pretty much spot on with Eventide. It sucks so far. Though I do think that Noggle Hedge-Mage is pretty good in Extended. One drop-->Two drop-->Tap your blockers and two to the dome is pretty good.
Check his manabase. Every single land he runs produces either G or R.

Cycling makes it SOO good. That should be a staple in Slide decks in Extended.
As it is, it's +1 CA

That's pretty sweet, but pretty unrealistic haha.

If Jackie Earle Haley ****s up Rorschach, I will be SO PISSED. They better not mess up my favorite character.

I was wondering if I could join up, or if there is some kind of screening. Thanks guys
