Root Sliver and Leyline of Lifeforce are the only other ones that do what you're talking about Gaea's Herald is the only card that does exactly what you're saying, though.
Iona, Shield of Emeria* (One of the spoiled cards in Zendikar) needs to be preemptively banned in my opinion. She completely shuts down monocolor EDH decks, and on top of that is available as a general. All of this just puts her at the top of my list as stupid broken.
I agree with this. I just made my first mono-colored EDH deck and can see this being a problem since the color I'm playing isn't blue.
People keep talking about 9 mana and how she's hard to get out, but it makes me think people have never played this format. There's so much acceleration that if you wanted her out on turn 5 you could get her out. It won't be consistent, but it can happen. Happening once in a 1v1 against a mono colored deck already shows how broken she is.
Everything can die to removal. I hate when people bring up redundant thoughts like that. This may be a 1-2 of or may not be played at all. If you have 3 allys out and this lives for a turn this was worth the mana you paid for it.
The "Dies to removal" was being sarcastic. But in any case, I like the card. I think it's a cool card that fits with the theme they're going for. People are complaining about Allies, and for no reason.
Has anyone brought up the "It dies to removal" clause yet? Just in case no one has, it does.
That aside, I think this card is pretty cool. The thing people are complaining about is the cost, well a lot of things appear to be costing higher than average so far. I'm thinking that the cost for this is pretty fair. Because of Landfall, people will probably end up playing some amount of excel to really get the full effect, so this guy can come down on turn 3 or 4 pretty easily, me thinks.
I think the problem with All-in-red is the new "counterspell" trap. If they have that in their opening hand then you pretty much just scoop. And the worst thing about it is that you don't needed to play against a blue deck to run into that trap. But if Chandra resolves on turn one, then it's a pretty big obstacle for them to overcome. Ruining their opening hand and having them get a hand that is going to be much worse... that's pretty good.
That's exactly what I was going to post. I still play with DOS because otherwise I would be unsleeving this deck and sleeving up a new one, which I think I should because it's the only deck I have that constantly has DOS mattering.
Mana burn is probably the second biggest hit. There are plenty of cards that just get ridiculously good without the drawback of mana burn. Cabal Coffers, Mana Drain, Rofellos, etc.. Though I usually find a way to not take mana burn when playing these cards.
We still play spells, because it's habit. Doesn't really affect the game. Same thing with things coming into play and RFG. We understand these rules and referring them to the new way isn't going to make it easier.
Lining up blockers has never came into play since we've been playing EDH with the new rules. Usually you chump or trade. Very rarely have we ever set up two blockers to block one guy and these situations all die or we say this one dies that one lives, type thing. Keep it simple.
Has anyone ever had to line blockers up to work towards their advantage?
i believe it has a good combo with electropotence. if there are a few more good goblins in zendikar (which is likely) it will probably be really good in standard.
How many hits did Goblin get on the orb? Just subtract the amount of times goblin appears on Insitgator and then assume that the number will be about 75% of that number.
EDIT:
Orb showed 17 instances of "goblin". There are 2 on Insitgator. So 15. Assuming it shows up in rules text on a few cards and not just on the type line, there could be 10 other goblins. So 11 with this guy. I'm sure that's enough to make a half way decent Goblin deck.
Warren Instigator
:symr::symr:
Mythic
Creature - Goblin Berserker
Double Strike
Whenever Warren Instigator deals damage to an opponent, you may put a Goblin creature card from your hand onto the battlefield.
1/1
So yeah, this guy is a beast. How good is he? Well we all know Goblin Lackey is a great card. It's an uncommon that costs more than most rares.
A had of 2 Mountains, 2 Siege Gangs, 2 Bolts, and this guy will likely not be mulliganed. Of course this guy dies to removal. Most creatures do. But if he doesn't get removed, your opponent is going to feel it.
So what's everyone think? Is he too powerful? Is this something WotC had to do to spark interest in players? Will this guy even make an impact on the meta-game that has a good amount of 1 and 2 mana removal spells?
Warren Instigator - :symr::symr:
Creature - Goblin Berserker (M)
Double Strike
Landfall - Whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control, Warren Instigator gets +1/+0 until end of turn.
1/1
Similar to mine.
Though I think he's a 2/1 and if Landfall resolves a second time, in the same turn, he loses Double Strike until end of turn.
She's a shield, though? So... Block any number of creatures? If this were the case, I don't think she'd be pro anything. I think she'd be a 7/7 at least with that mana cost, too.
Shield could also mean to prevent damage. If a creature would deal damage to you during combat, prevent x of that damage?
I'm just waiting to see if anyone busts a Black Lotus.
I thought that putting the full art lands in boosters was the best way to get them to sell and nothing else would be better. I stand corrected.

Anyone disagree? Ok, cool.

I just got finished reading the thread about the guy who got banned for misspelling in his posts and then this. Irony is my best friend.
I have Sorin and you have Chandra. I use Sorin's ability and take over your turn. I know use Chandra's ultimate to make her kill you. How fun.
Lorwyn was the block that had the best Goblins, so I bet that's why this wasn't in Shards. They wanted Lorwyn out before this guy came out.
