Let’s say I have a creature with Ward 2 and my opponent controls The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale. If my opponent pays the Ward cost of 2 mana, would it be too late for me to pay the Tabernacle’s upkeep cost to save my creature?
As was noted to MaRo on Blogatog, a reader posted "Another fun thing about Ward 10 is that Ward is actually harder to get around that hexproof right now. There are a number of ways of targeting creatures as though they did not have hexproof, but Ward 10 is, in a large number of cases, stronger than hexproof."
What scenarios is Ward 10 stronger than Hexproof? All I can think of is Arcane Lighthouse's activated ability. What else am I missing?
tell me they are stil going to make hexproof? cuz i freaking hate removal
Again, in that link I provided, they currently don't have plans on making Hexproof defunct in Standard. WotC has acknowledged both can coexist in the now and future sets.
I'm always curious about where they go with design space even if I'm fully confidant I'm not buying anything from a set. The Ward cost of discarding a card is interesting for me, and seeing what else they do with Ward costs.
The whole D&D presentation on mtg cards, if this is what some of the cards will be offered as collectible printings of, looks ugly to me. I'm staying away from that if this set has anything I want.
I'm patient. I'd spend $140, maybe more, on each one when/if they do hit the market. How is that luck?
Now that is hilarious.

They already publicly announced over three months ago that Ward is evergreen in its introduction in Strixhaven.
