Why would a blink effect on a Sliver be crazy, outside of Dregscape Sliver?
Lavabelly Sliver was the first one that came to mind. I was also thinking about stuff like Molten Echoes or Warstorm Surge. You're right, though; apart from Lavabelly and Dregscape, there's not that much synergy with other slivers.
I thought of Dormant Sliver earlier today. That's something.
I know there's something amazing they're going to put on a sliver, that's going to come straight out of left field. Wonder what it is.
I also wonder if the eldrazi deck will continue the trend toward stuff like Devoid/Ingest, or hearken back a bit to the Annihilator mechanic.
These decks would be legacy format legal, that format could handle Slivers getting a crazy ability. Most competitive commander decks don't appear to use The First Sliver and it's modern legal, despite what Evil Never Dies says. He/She could prove me wrong on that.
A ward Sliver with "Ward - Pay 3 life." would be amazing to sell this deck. As would a hexproof Sliver. If they can print True-Name Nemesis for merfolk, they can do a hexproof Sliver in this deck.
I might be pissed if all ten of those new cards AREN'T all Slivers. :lol
They've made Arcane Lighthouse as an answer to Shroud and Hexproof creatures, Diffusion Sliver gets around that card amusingly, or a future silver bullet that removes ward from creatures.
Hexproof would be amazing! Would a Sliver that creates stun counters be too good? They could price it one generic plus two hybrid U/W mana. Would they do hybrid Slivers in this set? That's still avenue of Sliver design not utilized yet.
This works for me. I have most of the Slivers I need for my commander deck, brand new Slivers in a Precon commander deck REALLY excites me! Haven't bought any sealed product until now when this is revealed and goes on sale. My only concern is Sliver Overlord is near perfection, be interesting to see if they can top him.
Wait, is that Sliver deck going to have brand new Slivers? If yes, I'm buying one to sit on, one to just play out of the box, one to throw in ABUR duals/Fetches/Shocklands, and four to make a new deck if this has brand new Slivers.
It's interesting to me that "Ward - Sacrifice a permanent" wasn't an emblem or attached to something melded. And that there's another new Ward cost in Brothers' War also not attached to an emblem or melded permanent!
Personally, I can't wait to see the card that gives your permanents Ward - Sacrifice a permanent. I'm sticking around for that. I'm always interested in see what else they can use as a cost to targeting something with Ward.

Unfortunately yes. The Modern Horizon Slivers. I'm going to have to be the miracle that brings symmetrical Slivers back one last time. Or twice.
I'd dance with joy if they ever gave us a Sliver Hive depicting the M14/M15 Slivers, or if they gave us The Skep.
