Suppose I attempt to cast a spell (any spell) and opponent casts Counter Spell targeting it, I can respond with Veil of Summer thus canceling his Counter Spell correct?
Now suppose it's the scenario except I have Orim's Chant instead of Veil of Summer. That does not stop his Counter Spell correct?
If an opponent searches their library while there are two or more copies of Psychic Surgery in play it is activated twice correct? The first one activates, then the second. So I look at the top two cards of their library, exile one and leave the other, then the second one activates and I do it again right? Just making sure I'm correct.
Hi guys, I have a really silly question. Does Crystalline Giant get a counter the turn you cast him when you declare your combat phase. For example, turn one I play a swamp, cast Dark Ritual, then Crystalline Giant. Then I declare my combat phase, does he get a +1+1 counter and an ability. Then the following declaring my combat phase and give him another one?
To my understanding I would say that yes I can do this. However, I must be wrong. Otherwise this card would be almost too good. Essentially by the time he's ready to attack (the turn after you cast him of course) he has two abilities and two +1+1 counters. A 5/5 with two abilities for three colorless that grows each turn with zero drawbacks at all has got to be waaaaaaaaay to good.
So I think I know the answer to this question but I'm not positive. I had a situation come up where turn 1 I play a land, cast Dark Ritual, then EntombGriselbrand, and then reanimate him with Animate Dead and then draw 14 cards off of his ability. During my end step I discard down to 7 cards two of which are Worldgorger Dragon and Orzhov Guildmage. Thus setting up my combo for the next turn. The following turn I play another land and cast another Animate Dead targeting Worldgorger Dragon and start my infinite combo loop. My question is, when all of my permanents are removed from the game and then return and I chose Worldgorger Dragon again with one of the Animate Deads what happens to the second Animate Dead (the one that was on Griselbrand)?? Does it just fizzle because there are no targets in the graveyard? Also, Griselbrand remains in play correct?
Even better!! Good thinking!! To bad I can't target which player draws cards from Brainstorm since I'm already running it. Either way I have two back up plans. I can mill myself until I get Orzhov Guildmage in the and then just animate him instead of Worldgorger Dragon or I can use the secondary ability of Codex Shredder and bounce the Dragon back to my hand after I've milled my opponent to zero cards and then pass the turn. One of the best parts is that I can stack the top of my deck with cards like Brainstorm and Lum Dul's Vault and put Dragon on the top and then mill him to the graveyard so that I can go off.
Although, I could mill myself until I get to a win con such as Orzhov Guildmage then stop milling myself and create infinite mana and pump it into him for the win.
Suppose I have Codex Shredder in play and I cast Animate Dead on Worldgorger Dragon thus starting the infinite loop and mill with Shredder every time it comes into play. Can I pass the turn even though the loop is on an infinite loop cycle and win? Or does the infinite loop cycle freeze the game and make it a draw?
One more question. So can I pass the turn while the infinite loop is still going? Or does the infinite loop perpetually continue forever thus freezing the game?
Okay, that's what I thought. I wasn't sure if we both died when we were both required to mill but didn't have cards left in our library to mill or if it was when we had to draw. Thank you Argus!!
