Just play it for UU and draw a card when your creatures come back from adventures. The xx is too expensive to make this useful if you aren't getting value from exile already.
you forgot something… it has a ETB from exile so that means… Flicker
Yeah, adventures are just the in set synergy. What I was trying to express is that it needs exile shenanigans to get value and is not good in a vacuum.
If I blink or sac/destroy/bounce the saga before the 3th chapter, the creature or creatures will never return back right? If so, it's very interesting.
Yeah, people will want to bargain this away after chapter 2 every time.
Bewitching Leechcraft was one of the best versions of this effect and we already get an even better one. Blue's getting less behind in limited removal quality.

this Saddens me a little, I was definitely planning on getting it for my Tazri, stalwart survivor deck (it’s likely the chases mythic of the set.)
I expect you'll be able to pick one up without breaking the bank. It does some neat things, but I don't think it's gonna be an optimal choice for very many decks and the interaction with Grist is more cool than it is powerful. Some sideboards, a few commander decks, but it's not gonna be showing up on "most played" lists because it requires fairly specific components and there's better graveyard hate if you don't have those components.
Cursed Courtier feels so bad. It's a 3 mana 1/1 and if you do the synergy thing it's made for, your reward is just a 3/3 with lifelink?
I mean your reward is you trigger celebration on ETB and you have a token to Bargain with. Or, bc you can only have one role attached to a creature, you could get a 4/4 with whatever if you have something else making a role. It's actually very elegantly in the middle of every mechanic in the set.
Yeah, I see the point of it and I'll give it a shot in draft, but I can't help comparing it to Jewel Thief or Preening Champion which are commons, though admittedly top tier ones. Maybe modern Magic has spoiled me.

Depends how picky you are about the term "Fling effect." Voldaren Thrillseeker is pretty much a true Fling, Soul's Fire leaves out the sacrificing.
Oh, gotcha. I tend to assume common earth species are present on every plane unless otherwise specified.
You can! Just need a Metallic Mimic on insect to turn your library into 1/1s.
Specter of Mortality kinda has the same problem as Corpse Explosion where the decks that want the effect aren't good at having fuel for it.
Virtue of Loyalty's art reminds me of Rings of Brighthearth, though I assume it's meant to evoke Cirle of Loyalty.
Wonder if skulk's going deciduous - little weird right after Lord of the Rings wrote it out on tempted by the ring if so.

Leaves out the best one, Deserted Temple can infinitely tap and untap itself to do... something? I dunno, put a Darksteel Garrison on it or something.
