We have a very early wedding guest here today. Florian will go well with all the lifeloss-matters Vampires for Limited and Standard, helping you dig for even more aggression. In Commander, he's probably more of a good support piece in the 99 of decks like Rakdos, Lord of Riots.

I'd probably buy one and try it on my Rakdos indeed. What I like about it is it can dig deep. The thing is though, I think I'm already running a lot of tutors in the deck (including the creatures that tutors) that adding a card that "digs" might not be really that crucial for the deck. But I think it's worth a try and has its advantages (like post boardwipe or having it on your early turns). I dig it. Pun intended. Grin

    Brief Reprieve 2W
    Enchantment (Uncommon)
When Brief Reprieve enters the battlefield, exile target nonland permanent you don't control until Brief Reprieve leaves the battlefield.
As Teferi entered the battlefield calmly, the sun immediately stopped moving in the sky, and the terrifying face of that werewolf froze.

Here's our first functional reprint of Banishing Light is here, because that minor "an opponent controls" vs "you don't control" difference will not matter that much, if at all.

    Source: ShenYang Teammates Card Club

Might only matter in multiplayer games with "team-up" like treachery/kingdom. Like if an opponent donated something to your teammate that actually hurts them, or for some reason you want to flicker (in the most inefficient way) one of your teammates' stuff. But other than that, yeah, not much of a difference.

The thing is, it's nice to have a card or 2 that is on the higher end of the spectrum. Those cards tend to retain most of its value. Some of the cards in this collection does have value just because it just needs more reprint (but not really that popular), but those cards tend to go down in value after being reprinted. There's only a few chase cards in this collection too and some cards are kind of niche. It's "MEH" overall, but I have to admit I really like most, if not all, the art. Too bad the price tag for this one doesn't really reflect its supposed potential. And to think changing 1 or 2 of the cards would've made this a lot better.

Sometimes, I just don't understand Wizards. Putting in 1 higher end card would really make this sell more, thus more profit. But I guess their products are all prepaid by shops anyways so they kinda' sold the products already (and shops will be the one dealing with it actually). I guess they want to save up some cards for their secret lair - a platform where they sell singles directly to the customers sold at premium price. Great job.

gree is indeed a lot better! and commander collection is not even cheap. I guess comparing it with other products, it is cheap. But by itself, it is quite expensive, and then we're getting very mediocre reprints. :/

A generation of woke, entitled players probably made this rumor. I don't really own that much RL, only really few. As much as I want to get my hands on some RL cards which sadly I can't, I understand the existence and importance of the RL. I think everyone should understand its existence and importance too. If you can't come to terms with its existence maybe don't get into the hobby or stop being a <SNIP!>.

    Take your pick

for But loophole of power increase get to 9/9 then unleash fury then you only need 2 more power

No Treasonous Ogre? Xenagos also makes it easy I guess

I don't think i'll ever see a good card with converge. The mechanic just stinks.

Oddly enough, they already made sunburst way back. They should've given a more "kick" to it be honest. Like not just X, but X+1 or twice X etc - something like that so that it can be more appealing.

indeed, having an evasion for a low cost. not to mention it deals freakin 3 damage. and then it has a great ability that can be game winning.

Bloodbraid Marauder doesn't seem very good....

I mean, it's really hard to setup it quickly for Cascade, and almost impossible without 1CMC cards.
so, it will just get some value there.

and the floor of a 3/1 can't block for 2 is really, really low.

alongside the fact that you're going to need a couple 1 CMC spells to set it up or else it would simply be better to just run the 3 CMC cascade stuff we usually do to hit the "no casting cost" stuff, I'm guessing this just will not see that much play.

maybe there's some way to run it in a deck with 2CMC and up hoping to throw stuff in the graveyard with Cathartic Reunion and friends to use Gaea's Will on turn 4 or something like that.
but it just seems really, really clunky.

the Sphinx in the other hand seems ABSOLUTELY CRAZY.
I mean.... specially in Legacy because Brainstorm is a card.
this thing will cheat real large things into the battlefield very early.

You're totally missing the point on why low cost cards with cascades are strong. It's because it is much easier to manipulate your deck into cascading into lower costed cards. The probability of what cards you will get is a lot more predictable. Now, it all comes to deck building in how you want it to work (in a predictable manner).

It's too bad it doesn't work with Urza's Saga or it might have been solid.

Why not? its a 0 Mana Value spell in the deck

No, it's a spell with no mana value. Different than a 0 mana value spell. (Mishra's Bauble is an example of an artifact with mana value 0. Cards like Sol Talisman and Lotus Bloom can't be found off the saga.)

You're answer is correct that it can not be fetched by Urza's Saga, however your explanation is incorrect. The MANA VALUE for Sol Talisman is 0. You are talking about the MANA COST, which is the one that's "null".

Urza's Saga specifically looks for MANA COST [0] or [1]. And the reason it can't look for Sol Talisman is because it has [] casting cost.

    Hey I remember this elder

used to be a mega staple in commander today it’s a budget alternative to ramp card

    still very handy for decks.

It's not really a ramp, more of considered as "card advantage". It doesn't really let you progress, tempo-wise. It has its uses, definitely. But it is definitely not a ramp.
