ah, diablo 2. fun memories of my first experiences online where had with that game. sooooo stoked about D3 finally being in production after the horrific crap pile that was Hellgate:london.
actually, it wasn't a crap pile as it was so much too much of the same thing. D3 at least seems to be offering something a little new/different, though I'm most likely wrong.
anybody else excited about how a lot of neo-classic games are finally getting the sequals they deserve? is anyone else even a little giddy over fallout 3?
or...ya know...*cough* duke nukem forever* cough*?
this deck is NOT quick n' toast, nor will it ever be. QNT is for some people, but not for me. while a brilliant deck, I find the deck rather hard to pilot and have never truelly enjoyed playing it.
I've had a little bit of time to test this now, and I find no trouble in running 3 wraths. it's great board clean, and getting guys back is not a problem when running larkalicious. as I stated in my opening post, the combo is not necessary to win. it merely is another alternative. this deck mainly focuses on beatdown/burn.
gee, ya know...like the U/W lark deck.*coughcough*
my meta is primarily Doran, Merfolk, and the occasional Burn deck like Big Mana/QNT. I'm tuning the SB right now, but don't really know what to put in it.
brion+ ceaseless+ mirror entity.
activate entitie's ability a gazillion times with 0, this triggers ceasless, and pay one red to "fling" them at your opponent with brion's ability. you gain a gazilion life and they loose a gazilion.
after finally putting together a lark deck and having a 3 week losing streak with it, I've decided that 'lark itself needs to change. nearly half the deck is rotating out with Shards of Alara, and to be quite frank, lark in it's current form has been hated to the point that almost every deck is prepared for it. Honestly, how many players do you know that don't carry 3 Fae Macabre, Tormods Crypt, etc in their SB?
going on this I've decided to build what I consider one avenue for lark to evolve. note that this has yet to be tested and this is a rough form of what's planned(also, before anyone points it out, yes, I do relise some of the cards featured will be rotating out with Shards and I'm semi-contradicting my thread. I'm aware of this. no need to point it out, trust me.)
this looks a little wonky at first, especially considering all preconcieved notions about how lark is suppose to run. allow me to explain.
1.it's less graveyard dependant: one of the reasons it's so difficult to pilot lark is everyone is prepared to play against it. ugh. screw graveyard hate! keep your boys on the field where they belong and lay lark to fetch them when they bite it.
2. you can win without the combo: there's plenty of burn to cause disruption, but also enough to slam your opponent with until you lay 'lark for a beatdown or Brion.
3.gasp! there's an infinite damage combo! ZOMFGLAWLS!: tee hee, it's also a BLOCK CONSTRUCTED combo.
anyone who messes with it on Magic workstation or online has my respect and love. ideas? comments?
Um, okay, well first of all Mishra sucks in comparison to every other card in Affinity. To support 3 colours all at once you'd probably need to start putting in Fetchlands or Duals, which is fail. Also, a 4 mana guy that fetches more artifacts when you play artifacts is really really bad when comparably I can play out my entire hand by turn 2. I find in my Affinity deck I RARELY get up to 4 lands, since I've either killed or lost before then. Affinity is simply way, way too fast for Mishra to keep up with.
thanks. I forget how much faster 1.x is compared to standard, but I'm slowly learning.
well, as for weight loss...here's what I did. be forewarned this resulted in a couple of blackouts and a constant feeling of exhaustion, but hey, I lost 130 pounds in the process.
1. immeadiately cut down to 1800 calories a day with no sugar whatsoever. make sure your diet consist solely of fruit and veggies. occasional meat like tuna to build protein is more than okay.
2. either get a gym membership or get a machine, free weights, etc. work out at least 3 hours a day, with an alternating schedule. (I did my arms on mondays, my back on tuesdays, etc).
keep this schedule constant for at least 2 months. take some caffiene before you work out*at least an hour before hand* and you'll feel less pain the first couple of days/weeks. in your free time when your not doing anything, do a few pushups or situps, yoga stretches, etc. *I actually do curls while playing guildwars. it's not as hard as it looks. MMOs are the easiest to do this with*.
HUZZAH! you'll either sweat away the pounds or come close enough to dehydration to hallucinate yourself into thinking your a studly piece of man meat!
...it works. fo' real.
without starting a flame war, I don't see what the big deal is about gay couples. the reason homosexuality is so maligned in today's culture may or may not have something to do with the avid religious reasoning of some, or it may just be because some view it as instinctually wrong. both of which are a personal reason, and make just as much sense as someone choosing homosexuality in the first place. it's a personal preference.
we've all got them. so why so much fire over it? hasn't homosexuality been present in pretty much every dominant society in the last thousand years? greeks and romans ring a bell, anyone?(READ: I've no vast knowledge of history. if I'm wrong, merely point this out to me and I'll correct my mistake posthaste.)
WARNING!!!! I HAVE NO EXPERIENCE IN EXTENDED! I am merely considering it with timespiral rotating out in september, and have decided to play Affinity in extended. upon coming to this decision and taking a look at the decklist, I couldn't help but think that mishra, artificer prodigy would be great in it!
however, I've NO experience in extended, and don't want to build a Affinity deck around mishra if it sucks like my dci ranking. so, please simply respond with "BRILLIANT!" or "&%*&%*&%*&%*&!!!!" and calmly explain to a noob why 4cc legends don't work in extended, other than the vast amount of removal.
a valid point I hadn't thought of. I'm so used to playing aggro decks with the meta being the way it is that the thought of my own hand needing to be refilled dominates almost every deck I build. I've thought about running afflict as well for a more specific approach.
that seems like a really good Idea, but my local store doesn't seem to carry any and everyone in my area plays Doran Doran and merfolk. the doran guys don't want to trade them and the merfolk guys don't have any tradestuff, if you can believe it. maybe elvish harbinger would help nab a devoted?
this is a basic concept for a post EVE deck that I'm thinking about making. it get's it's soft-lock on with Nath and raven's crime stripping away an opponents hand while simultaneously producing elves, a two way threat. Llanowar/birds excells into an early game Liege, and lastly, devoted druid and quillspike combo with each other.
if you need to know why, you haven't been properly glued to the spoilers!
the mana base will be worked out after I'm more sure about what spells will be going in. I'd like ideally to stick with the creatures I have, but I'm still totally unsure about what spells to put in. so far, Raven's crime, Harmonize, and possibly SFT seem like a must, but I could be mistaken. mass removal seems rather counter productive, and I can see where counterspells and red could get rather risky.
suggestions and comments welcome!
JACK FROM NC IS UPON YOU!
don't make me get all skeletor up in this mutha, kay?
'kay.
hi everybody. finally, I'm on TEH FORUMS, LAWLS.
...I hate the internet
...and I finally make my way to the forums.
wonderful podcast as always, guys. listening everyweek has provided laughs as well as insight during a time when I should really be working. you guys keep me sane some days, seriously.
a card I would design if I won worlds:
name: Genocidic Homicide
casting cost :/b /b /3
destroy target creature. procede to go through target opponents library and remove all cards that share a type with it from the game.
"kill you? haha, no...we merely wish to bring you closer to yawgmoth. this way is the shortest"- Jack LaCroix, Urborg Shaman.
I absolutely love Sharuum. If the fact I've attempted to keep an active "primer" for her open and the fact I've played her for over 5 years says nothing else, she's undoubtedly my favorite card. She, simply put, does EVERYTHING.
actually, it wasn't a crap pile as it was so much too much of the same thing. D3 at least seems to be offering something a little new/different, though I'm most likely wrong.

revised decklist for whomever cares:

4xlark
4xsmoke braider
3x figure of destiny
spells:
4xriftbolt

wrong. you play brion's ability while entitie's is on the stack. trust me, it triggers.
SB for reference:
4x pyroclasm
3xfirespout
2xraking canopy
3xchameleon colussus
3xfit to meta.
wow. way to critisize without actually contributing anything. maybe a viable suggestion would be in order, Decrepitdan?
thank you, obscure. I do have plans to change it around a bit when EVE finally drops. Figure will most certainly find a home in this deck.
activate entitie's ability a gazillion times with 0, this triggers ceasless, and pay one red to "fling" them at your opponent with brion's ability. you gain a gazilion life and they loose a gazilion.
