Anyone else also notice that in that article that Maro states that only 6 of the land//lands are in the set and the other 4 are in Keldheim, those being UG, BG, WU and BR.

I wonder if there is a reason for these combinations being left out or to be put into Keldheim?

No, as the ability from Adanto, The First Fort puts a token in play and does not cast a Vampire Spell, which is what is needed for Edgar Markov's ability to trigger.

I guess I feel much differently than you do. Many of these, in my opinion, easily replace a basic land in most EDH decks and that deck instantly gets a little bit better. Having a relevant spell in the late game, or a land in the early game, is huge, considering the nearly-zero opportunity cost of running it in a land slot. This is especially true for the mythic versions which can ETB untapped for 3 life. But any of the relevant modal spells could easily become commander staples IMO.

I find it so strange people are so willing to get rid of basics in their EDH decks where there are plenty of cards that will straight stop you from playing when you have too few basics.

indeed I wouldn’t remove basics for these they said like several times you choose the side your using before the game begins

That's not true, you choose when you play them, otherwise how do you track which ones will be land and which are spells? For instance, you play a single modal card, but at 4 copies, then you choose 2 for each. How is that tracked? I also read the article about them, they are choose on play, much like Split cards, simple as that.

Now getting to what I wanted to talk about, these for the future sets will probably be (as I mentioned above) split cards for permanents, much in the vain as we are seeing with the land ones here on Zendikar, the ones on Kaldheim could be instant/sorcery with an artefact equipment for instance and Strixhaven could be the same but enchantments. I guess we will need to wait and see, but that is my guess. (then maybe a free-for-all on types in DnD if they are also there)

May not be great for standard, but will be great for my Riku of Two Reflections deck, as you can lay the Sea Gate down (get an extra with Riku), then cast something big then cast something like Reverberate for even extra gains.

I have a feeling this was put in to combat Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath.

Its possible that the “White creature that can make an opponent lose the game simply by attacking them no matter how much life they have”, could also be the same card as the “If it’s the third time” as in: If it's the third time that CARDNAME has attacked this turn/opponent, then attacked opponent loses the game.

Tack it onto a 1/1 then it would make it hard to do so.

I also thought of the 'this turn' part as I was typing this, but this seems a more red thing than white, and the 3 separate turns would be more white, though maybe not enough hoops to jump through.

EDIT: Another thought is that it could be: If it's the third time that CARDNAME is blocked, defending player loses the game.

It is also possible that as someone else has mentioned, this may not be a mono white creature and could be WR or WU.

I think that the Mana Symbol thing will be (2/W)(2/U)(2/R)(2/G) for Omnath, as all those symbols have only been used twice and makes sense for Omnath to be a bit splashy for Limited. Also I would believe that the 'red mana does not empty' may be Omnath, though it could be a red herring tbh.

Also the multi coloured card could be something like: 'sacrifice a creature you don't own and return target creature from an opponents graveyard with converted mana cost of X plus one, where X is the sacrificed creatures converted mana cost'

I think that the 3 activated copies will be something similar to Riku.
    T,RR: copy instant/sorcery.
T,GG: create a token copy of target token/creature.
T,2: create a token copy of target artefact.

@leslak, there are more references to that Circle.

The stones that Jace is surrounded by in he top left of the image you gave, as well as the half floating thing hes looking at too (probably a broken statue of the dipiction), though it looks like a toothy thing now. Also there is the small monument behind the trap he dodges too.

Its also possible that the creature Nahiri fights is what leads her to that orb she has floating, which those images also seem to depict. Maybe they were both (treasure) hunting the same thing and its that orb?

  • posted a message on Lazav, the Multifarious + Myr Welder
Also just as an addition here, even if Lazav, the Multifarious becomes a copy of Myr Welder (or any permanent with 'imprint'), it will be unable to make use of 'imprint' as it only takes effect when that object enters the battlefield, and Lazav is already on the battlefield when it copies and therefore cannot 'imprint' anything.

  • posted a message on How many different "welcome boosters" exist?
There will not be any welcome boosters between M21 and ZR, as they are the last two of the four 'premier sets' of the year. (premier set refers to the big standard rotating releases, that evolve the MTG story etc)

The other sets you are probably referring to as being released between this time are 'supplement' releases, things that are extra and are not a regular part of the normal releases, as these fit into 'slots' that are open within the year (usually so something new is released monthly). Also due to the covid situation, it has made it seem that a lot has been released in a rather small time, due to printing and delivery issues, such as Double Masters and Jumpstart, but these are standalone releases, not necessarily for new players.

As Welcome boosters are made with new players in mind, they were usually only made for 'Core sets' or to say the yearly 'generic' premier set, which M21 is (in one form or another in pervious years). As there seems to be a welcome pack for ZR, my guess would be that they may release a welcome pack for each premier set, to help new players join the game year round and not just with a single release a year window.

  • posted a message on Untapping a tapped creature
You are right that if you target a creature with Stony Strength, that is also under the affect of Entrancing Lyre, it will become untapped.

However if that creature does become tapped later on (by an any effect that will tap it such as attacking), then the Lyre's effect is still affecting it, and will stay tapped as before until the Lyre is untapped. Just remember that being able to get your creature untapped by other means does/will not remove the lyre's effect.

Could possibly see this being an issue with Zirda, the Dawnwaker, especially if you mutate one so you have twice the effect on the field to make the activation cost only 1.

Iam pretty sad to see Cauldron Familiar go, as ive not had any chance play since the March Lockdown, and mono black was my main deck. Hopefully it will get another chance later on, but iam not happy (especially since my LGC will probably start FNM again fairly soon).

That 2/1 Blue Myr token is sweet! I've not seen it as I've been out of the game for a few years and only started again with Thrones.

Also that Copy Token is also sweet and very welcomed! I will need quite a few for my Riku EDH Deck, though it may be hard to keep track as to what it represents if I have too many things copied XD

Sorry I have not replied to this sooner, but I only signed up yesterday.

This has been bugging me as the answer given is wrong as this does not work.

As Horde of Notions PLAYS the card and does not CAST it, therefore Chakram Retriever does not trigger.
