People, this project is up on Kickstarter right now, and it is the answer to our cube storage problems! Fund it!
(I am unaffiliated with the project, but this seems amazing!)
Sek'kuar + Phyrexian Altar + Nether Traitor= infinite mana. Not to mention Altar and Traitor are nuts in the deck.
Sek'kuar + Phyrexian Altar + Nether Traitor + Survival of the Fittest + Masked Admirers= every creature in your deck into play. (I like Deathbringer Thoctar for the insta-kill everyone.) Or just cast Sarkhan Vol.

i actually think this is better then the r/g for the simple reason that it's not dying to the most popular play in the format.
Tap R, cast Lightning Bolt.
That being said, it's not that good as it can't kill/efficiently block most fliers in the format.
even as a full cost spell this is good in limited. the format appears to be getting a bit slower with the release of worldwake and this is one hell of a combat trick.
actually i think the only one that's good as a man right now is the w/u one since it doesn't flat out die to bolt. this one, yes, is fantastic in the mid/late game and is great against any nonred nonvamp deck... which are most decks in the format.
however, they are all still good, as has been said, because at worst they are CIPT duals.
This card might be sideboard if boros gets even more dumb then it is now. It just kills that deck. hard. even with double landfall (fetches) this will still wipe a lot, if not all of the board.
will be glad to pick up copies for my nicol bolas EDH
Nissa really is just bad. She only applies in the right type of deck, and I'm not even sure Elves would run her. Garruk is a far better option.
The first ability is just dumb. Planeswalkers should apply universally, or at least to more than one specific card. A better version would have been: "+1: Search your library for an Elf permanent card with converted mana cost two or less and put it onto the battlefield. Then shuffle."
I have no qualms with the second ability, it is iconic of the Elf tribe and plays very well with the flavor. However, it is significantly weakened by the narrow first ability and will not be heavily used in the current standard format. We shall have to wait for the remainder of Zendikar to see whether she will be of any use at all.
The third ability, while game-breaking, is easily felled by a Day of Judgment, or, in most cases, a Volcanic Fallout. Wizards is falling into a trap because younger or stupider players will tutor up their deck, slam the cards into play, and ask "GG?".
Then the other player will untap, seeing as Elves do not have mass haste, cast Day of Judgment or Planar Cleansing, and laugh.
Wizards has short-changed the Magic community from a planeswalker power level standpoint by asserting them as quite possibly the more powerful cards in Standard since their release in Lorwyn, and then printing a set with three walkers either with 6CMC, which is far too high to be effective, or sub-par abilities.
has anyone also made the point that the iconic lightning bolt and duress reprints are slated to be at COMMON? whereas FoF would be UNCOMMON/RARE?
calling bull.

2GGGG: 4/4, 2 2/2s
Tap Oran-Rief, 5/5, 2 3/3s.
That's a whole lot of power (11 for 2GGGGG, essentially)

In my cube for sure.

Yeah, that just happened.
