Unfortunately this one was an incredibly weak card that was always the 24th card.

The aristocrats/ melira deck's strength is that it always had enough playables - the green-white color pair is relatively underdrafted and doesn't need support.

The artifact deck is surprisingly constant at coming together in terms of drafts.

I'll be coming some experimentation with a full set of artifact two card combos to include all the two card combinations + artifact tutors + support pieces,

    Nice explained

One thing I've noticed by watching MTGO cube drafts from streamers and youtubers is that people seem to prioritize this Jace less than Beleren. In packs where I think Beleren would have been a real consideration, and a card they would have thought about picking, they often don't even mention Mirror Mage. Don't know if that's due to it being a new card and being harder to evaluate, or if the card is genuinely just worse than Beleren, but it's worth noticing.

any more data on this card guys?

I've done some testing - this is what I refer as an okay in any red based deck, but never great. He could be used as a discard outlet for Reanimator, could be used in combo decks to help filter + dig, isn't that bad in tap out midrange decks that might need to filter out bad cards to dig for specific answers etc.

He is decent in the spells matter aggro deck. What is nice right now is red has a lot very good options for spells matter aggro:
    - Monastery SwiftSpear
    - Grim Lavamancer
    - Dreadhorde Arcanist
    - Young Pyromancer
    - Abbot of Keral Keep
    - Chandra, Acolyte of Flame.

    Cards you can play:
    - Kilnd Fiend
    - HeartFire Immolator
    - Bedlam Reveler

You can easily make adjustments in your aggro section to move them over to using this package.

But the reason why I have his is I felt I needed +1 Discard outlet.

Thank you very much for your input!
Due to covid couldn't make it to play yet and see the card in action..

    I would (loosely) rank them:

    Arcane Denial
    Remand
    Memory Lapse
    Miscalculation
    Condescend
    Force of Negation
    Spell Pierce

For additional context, I also have a 540 powered cube and currently run the top 4 of that list - until very recently I also ran Condescend, which I am planning to cut for Jwari Disruption, which I would put above Miscalculation on that list. You also did not list Force Spike which I also run - I'd probably rank that just below Jwari Disruption.

I'm still interested to hear what people think about Jinxed Idol vs Spawning Pit as well. Smile

Thanks for the response tylor, i already play force spike but i think it's better of the above list because you can counter everything on the draw even against god hands so you avoid getting behind a lot.

i think with jwari that has two modes needed in early game, for example you need lands early turns so you can't behind, but also this type of counter is more useful in early states of the match.

There is a chance it's better then miscalculation, so it could be replace it, but i do think tapped blue where you need untapped blue, to have the mana for countering is more useful, also in late game you can also cycle miscalculation for another card.
But let's see other's people opinions.

I think this card is very good because as meltingsho said can replace the 17th land, this means in early game you play the land, at late game where you don't need lands you play regrowth option, at case where you don't need more lands that means you have the lands to play the spell. Also i see is very crusial cube has a lot of options at lands nowadays, it's better to have a nice toolbox land but many cards doing similar things for same slots. For this reason in my cube i have plenty lands to support decks from that ankle but have many similar cards that i will break my head at deck building which ones to use in case i can the work with any of the options.
Overall, i do think lands/spell cards will give more depth in cubes and make it more interesting, of course cards with power and no medicore craps..
    What's your thoughts on subject?

This deck is awesome, by the way, and I consider the exploration of this archetype to be a success. I recommend it if you can find the real estate for it.

    Great news!
Please let us know which are the must cards for the archetype!

Honestly, I haven't been able to cube much since adding him. The last time we drafted, we did a rotisserie draft and it wasn't drafted. Then, the pandemic hit and we haven't cubed since. In theory I like it a lot in aggro and it's good in any deck that wants cards in the graveyard. Sorry I don't have more feedback.

    Cheers,
    rant

    Not a problem!
Thank you for the theory feedback, can't wait to get practice feedback when virus leaves!
