I hadn't considered colorless mattering for ugin because I haven't played many matches and seen the meta. Other than being legendary tetsuko actually seems far better than phase dolphin and passwall adept because it gives the whole team unblockable and it costs 1 less mana for the same toughness and it doesn't need a toughness=damage effect to start chipping away the opponents life.
Glad to see such civil conduct among people who disagree with each other. The world needs more of that.
As far as this particular list goes, I’m not sure whether it really makes sense to focus on the Oracle here.
The deck list from Mtg goldfish runs a claim//fame to fetch Oracle from the graveyard and this deck is really counting on already having Oracle in hand (with at least 2 blue “lands”) when you go off... which seems a bit less likely than the “normal” winning line of throwing out amalgams and ghouls. I mean, agadeem can technically bring back spy and Oracle simultaneously... but it doesn’t really seem like the deck was designed for that.
Are there any specific reasons why you chose to go more heavily into the Oracle line?
The reason I opted to focus on the oracle line is that it wins in the spot rather than being stopped by interaction like the more common line. Additionally it doesn't really care about graveyard hate like most oops decks do.
I apologize for not building a fair magic deck.
I am aware of the mtg goldfish oops all spells deck, the main difference between that list and mine is a higher focus of thassia's oracle as a win condition and running significantly less green.
Working on trying to make oops all spells in pioneer because I realized most of the pieces for the modern version are pioneer legal. I have no idea what people run in pioneer so the sideboard need lots of work.
That being said heres the deck list https://archidekt.com/decks/892800#Deck_yourself_before_you_wreck_yourself
to make artifact centric seem like the coice for numot I was thinking of putting things like Whirler Rogue or Saheeli, Sublime Artificer that care about artifacts
would it make the cube to complex if for each dragon I had a tribal option and a non-tribal option?
so it would look something like
Teneb - Reanimator/Elves
Vorosh - +1/+1 Counters/hydras
Crosis - Discard/Zombies
Dromar - Adventure/spirits
Darigaaz -burn/goblins
Intet - discount tribal/elementls
Numot - cheerios/wizards
Oros - aristocrats/vampires
Rith - Tokens/dinosaurs
Treva - Enchantments/merfolk
I agree with dromar and numot being worrying with more staxs effects. I think a more fun archetype for dromar would be mechanics like forecast and adventure that could be reused if you put the card back in hand. One of the(many) goals for this cube was to spend less than $2 a card aside from dromar which makes most of the edhrec cards and commander Staples off limits. Is 2 main archetypes per color pair too many? Finally to make the commanders more balanced and to make archetypes more clear would having effects like the regalia in Brian sandersons cube function well?
the archtypes I had thought of were
Teneb - Reanimator
Vorosh - +1/+1 Counters things like Hydra's GrowthSimic Ascendancy
Crosis - Discard effects likeFell Specter
Dromar - cast taxes like God-Pharaoh's Statue
Darigaaz -
Intet - Goodstuff
Numot - land hate things like Zo-Zu the Punisher
Oros - Death triggers things like Cruel Celebrant
Rith - Tokens
Treva - Enchantments (I was also considering adding an effect like Channel to her attack trigger)
Do you know of a way to proxy a whole cube quickly? I've tried using mtg press but they don't have all of the cards i'm running.
Also how do I help the cube have archtypes, currently it feels like their aren't any archtypes
to try to solve the mismatching identities I'm opting to put mana rocks and lands in separate 20 card "manabase" packs drafted after the other packs so everyone pretty much knows what colors they are playing before drafting their manabase.
