Last group broke up, or burned out, or something, after many years. It was mostly FFA, anywhere from 4 to 8 players. Some Emperor here and there. And a home-brew tribal format that came and went with decent tribal sets.
I miss those guys. It's tough finding new groups for an old school old fart.
To those who have looked for new groups, what do you all do to find groups?
I would have replied, but it would have been pretty much what FunkyDragon posted.
So I'll add the silliness...
Panharmonican is a lot of fun here. You can do some crazy stuff. My band camp moment recently with it was Lathliss, Dragon Tempest, and Panharmonican in play, with two Broodmate Dragons in the graveyard. Dropped Bladewing (brings back BOTH Broodmates), ended up with a (not-so-)small army and a table full of dead opponents.
I've been obsessed with a similar deck for a while now. There's no way I could make it without Dragon Tempest and Broodmate Dragon.
Try to sub one or two of your Medallions for Herald's Horn . Pricey, but well worth it in a mostly single-tribe deck. Mine is actually all dragons, so works really well for me.
Panharmonican. Ok, here's a card that is fun, but what we usually call a "win-more". Here, it'll double Lathliss, Scourge of Valkas, Dragon Tempest, Broodmate Dragon, Elemental Bond, Dragon's Hoard, and Bladewing the Risen. Note though, it will not double Eggs off Nesting Dragon's landfall, or the dragons you get from the eggs. Still, this is where it goes from "win-more" to "win-NOW".
Don't be afraid to play Dragon Hatchling. Obviously it's great early on, but later in the game with Lathliss and/or Scourge/Tempest in play, it can be a crapload of trigger damage for 2 mana (or one). Can easily be a kill shot.
Speaking of kill shots, Kindred Charge often does just that off the Scourge/Tempest triggers.
Sorry some of my suggestions fall outside your colors. Just relaying what I have found works in my version.
Looking for a specific land. It was basically a universal pain land. You know, tap for a colorless or tap for 1 any color and take a point of damage? Probably in the laSt few years.
Was this a dream? I do have Unknown Shores, which is like a universal filter, but I could swear I saw a pain-type version. Looking through gatherer set by set is getting a bit tedious.
I like all the alt versions of the cards. I also like cheap, and all the alt versions keep the vanilla versions cheap. I say they are a win-win for me.
How many dragons are you packing in this thing? I'm doing straight dragons, and Dragon's Hoard has worked well. Mana ramp or card draw, kinda win-win. That's only of you're playing enough dragons to put counters on it though.
Cool, thanks. Reason I ask is I've been going through a rough time finding players I enjoy playing with and have been wondering if the game I love even still exists. It seems like MTG the game has been supplanted by MTG the competition and few players even understand the difference nowadays. It's like you had to be there to be able to comprehend the difference. Like the "bolt-the-Bird" thing. Yes. It's efficient, but makes for an awfully boring game.
Some of what you guys mentioned reminded me of what I think of as old school MTG, so I was wondering how long you guys have been around.

So, paired with Dark Ritual is this as good as it looks, or am I wasting $40 buying a playset of these Sorins?
Anyone playing this, and what's your favorite larger vamp to drop with this Sorin on T1?

Nesting Dragon and Dragon Egg can also be ton of fun/damage in the Scourge/Tempest deck.
This forum is so dead, it's hard to answer any thread without fear of "locked-for-necro".
My current frame of mind wants to use dragon eggs.

Can't find anything else, and no one jumping in and saying "It was so-and-so" tells me to end my OCD madness.
Guessing it was another MTG dream. Don't laugh, you know you have them too.

Maybe Vanquisher's Banner ?
I'm still wondering what the answer was about game legality in a sleeve.
