Wolfir Silverheart seems good as a 1-of GSZ target in R/G aggro.

Sundering Titan seems good. Tooth and Nail and Genesis Wave are also good for green. Exsanguinate for black.

  • posted a message on Good Replacement for Sol Ring in Commander?
You trolling? Sheldon has repeatedly stated that sol ring will not be banned EVER...

Also, there is no replacement. Nothing else does the same thing. If you're aggressive you can run mana crypt, but you should have already been running that.

  • posted a message on [MCD] Angel of Despair vs. Necrotic Sliver in Karador
This is often a cop-out answer, but you should run both. The Harmonic/Necrotic Sliver synergy is very strong, and Angel of Despair is one of the better high drops of Karador. The key to Karador is to always be able to answer your opponents threats and grind them out, and repeated permanent removal is the best way to do this. I guarantee you have a worse card in your deck you could cut for one of these.

  • posted a message on Karador: Is it better to fend off g. hate or just let it happen?
If you're playing Karador and you're having a hard time removing a 2/2 green creature, you're doing it wrong imho. If anything, Leyline of the Void is a much bigger problem, but once again just pack enough removal to handle it. Obviously, sometimes you get screwed and somehow can't find an answer, but if that's the case you were just going to lose to your opponent's Lurking Predators or whatever anyway.

Just run a good amount of artifact/enchantment destruction and don't worry about it otherwise. I had my graveyard exiled 7 times by bojuka bogs and relics and still won the game without too much trouble.

  • posted a message on Creatures that scale unfairly in edh
I'm trying to build an edh zoo deck that uses cheap creatures that still scale well for edh. What are some creatures, preferably smaller creatures since this for an aggro deck, that scale unfairly in edh? I don't mean hur-de-hur big creatures are good in edh, I'm talking about creatures that are worded so that they get a big boost from the format. For example:

    Serra Ascendant
    Sheltering Ancient
    Wilderness Elemental
    Taurean Mauler
    War Elemental
    Gideon's Avenger
    Forgotten Ancient
    Hydra Omnivore

  • posted a message on Artifact Mana Stones vs. Traditional green Ramp
In Animar and Karador there is really no reason to run artifact accel other than sol ring, and I would think twice about running sorcery based land ramp as well. Both of these decks gain huge advantage from playing a lot of creatures. Try cards like:

    Yavimaya Dryad
    Farhaven Elf
    Wood Elves
    Solemn Simulacrum
    Sakura-Tribe Elder
    Viridian Emissary
    Seedguide Ash
    Yavimaya Elder

I only speak a little Japanese... green creature has trample and something about the top card of your library and then something about the top of the library being a creature. The other two look like they have bloodthirst.

  • posted a message on Call PETA - I'm beating a dead horse. (Concealed Weapons Debate)
Allowing more freedom (to and extent, please don't make some ridiculous counterpoint like giving guns to the mentally unstable or small children) is a good thing. Bad people don't care if there is a law that forbids them from having guns. They get them anyway. You can make guns more difficult to obtain, but people who want them and don't respect the law will get them anyway. Therefore, it's a good idea to let the GOOD people who respect the law and are willing to submit themselves to hours of training carry guns in turn to protect themselves. I for one refuse to be held hostage by one crazy individual with a gun. A good situation to use as an example is something like the Virginia Tech shootings. If people with concealed carried licences were allowed to carry on campus then perhaps not as many people would have died. It's a bad thing when you create a situation where only the bad people and police have guns. The police will never arrive in time to prevent this kind of situation, and it lets the assailant know with 100% certainty who is and is not armed, therefore allowing them to plan an attack with impunity.

And Harkius, I don't know if you've ever had any martial arts training, but you can be an incredible martial artist, and if the guy with the gun is more than a couple of feet away and is even remotely competent, you will lose. Obviously you could go for something like a dive/roll/sweep, but even this is not effective beyond a couple yards, and even then is as likely to get you killed as stop the assailant.

I'm sorry. The idea that Wizards is "threatened" by SCG is just stupid. The SCG open series has and will be nothing but good for wizards. It does what the grand prix circuit does without Wizards having to do anything. You think Wizards is "afraid" the SCG events will come to overshadow WOTC sponsored events? There's nothing Wizards would like more than for a third party to be offering millions of dollars a year in order to play their game without costing them a dime.

  • posted a message on Did I have a right to do this
It's not that there's a prize payout, it's that there's an entry fee. Once you're paying to play, you have the right to do anything you want to in order to make your money back. Maybe the casual players should be playing more disruption and less 6/6 fatties.

Karador is my love child, even though he isn't out yet. I just want to play reveillark from my yard returning karmic guide and eternal witness returning reveillark to the field and yavimaya elder to my hand... Or just play sakura-tribe elder every turn.

  • posted a message on Changing Opinions on Tucking
Tucking needs to stay. There are several extremely powerful voltron strategies in EDH, such as uril and skithiryx. These strategies are very linear, and are often hard to interact with as well as being very fast. There always needs to be a way to punish linear strategies, because if there isn't, that's when the game gets broken.

This is final proof there is no justice in the world... You should be making a comfortable living as an artist with talent like this. Your art is very easy on the eyes, and the writing is hilarious. These are absolutely amazing. Made my day. Bravo, sir (and encore, please!).
