    Ooh I like caller of the wild. A lot.

    For the green charm, I like the land fetching version. The enchantment killer sounds cool too though.

    Autochton worm? pshaw, indestuctable 21/1 Darksteel Collosi are where its at. also, i do think that the time warp is too good, if only because i don't think any format could handle a deck that could play 4 of these, 4 time warps, and 4 time seives

    LOL @ darksteel colossus combo. Love it.

    Interesting point about the time warp enchantment. But wouldn't that also preclude the printing of any remotely playable time walk variant? A deck can already run 4 time warps, 4 Walk the Aeons, Time Stop and things like Time Stretch...the mana cost on Stretch might be prohibitive, but probably not on Walk the Aeons or Time Stop.

    I feel like we're going to keep getting decent time walk variants in future sets, maybe once a block or so.

    I think maybe the point was to start a discussion about playable regeneration variants.

    Anyway, I posted this in the card/set ideas forum not too long ago:

    Name I Forget :1mana::symg:
    Enchantment - Aura
    Enchant creature
    Flash
    When ~ enters the battlefield, regenerated enchanted creature.
    Enchanted creature has ":symtap:: Regenerate target creature."

    something combining instant speed surprise regeneration with a sustainable regeneration aura would be a good idea.

    I love Omnath! We've seen the effect before on Upwelling, but this time it's just limited to you. It's great in this context, combined with a creature who feeds off your mana. Sort of reminds me of Glissa Sunseeker in this respect too.

    Raging Ravine is kinda neat. I'm glad they are going with some unconventional abilities on these manlands.

    Not quite sure whey the trap is red...punishing your opponent for attacking you is a white thing. I like it though, should be easy to cast for just 1 or 2 less, and then smash them with a trampler on your next turn.

    Ah, I forgot about Wormfang Manta. I see what you mean about being worried about engines, but I'm actually ok with "engines" when they are so hard to pull off. I think wotc is too - it's why they keep making cards with combo potential like Time Sieve. The point is to avoid making anything too powerful, too easily abused, so that it needs to be somehow nerfed.

    As for your hypothetical artifact...well, it's hypothetical. And it's kind of silly to say that my fake card shouldn't be printed because another fake card could be printed in the future. If anything, my card (if it existed) would prevent the artifact from being printed down the line. (Mine, after all, was posted first :))
    And I think there are already a lot of potential abuses with your hypothetical artifact.

    I really, really like this cycle. Fantastic idea.

    My one gripe is with the green one - it doesn't fit the "all or one" mentality of the other 4. But it still fits pretty well, considering it is one big thing or several small things.

    Smite with fire is amazing, I want it now.

    You're right that the blue one is a little meh, but that's ok, I still kinda like it.

    I love how shameful defeat works to kill whatever you need; one targetable creature or an otherwise untouchable dude that has shroud or regeneration (or is black). Cool stuff.

    Thanks for all the comments! Glad you guys like this batch.

    Is this supposed to be draws? As written, it has the potential to be "Target player loses 10 life. Draw 10 cards" if their life total didn't change before you cast it. Was it mean to be a Sign in Blood variant, or just ridiculously good? I'm not sure because it's a mythic, but also called a "bargain." Trading your opponents life for cards doesn't seem like a bargain you make with a lich.

    OOPS. Yes. Originally it was "You lose half your life, then draw that many cards." I switched it to target player, but forgot to change it to draws. Oh boy. Thanks for pointing that out!

    And yeah, even with you losing the life to get the cards, it may be too strong at 5 mana. I might raise it to 3BBB.

    Quote from Nemephosis
    Holy crap, Battlethirst is one of those "DUH" cards you feel like an idiot for not having thought of first... I love the flavour of how something just turns into a frothing, raging war machine with no regard to its survival, like a fighter under a berserker rage or something you'd find in the D&D games and such. I love that, but it might be a bit too good at one mana.

    Thanks! You, r_e, and MDenham are all probably right about the cost being too low. I think at the time I posted it I thought that with most creatures, it was just worse than Bloodlust, and with the big creatures, it doesn't matter if this costs red mana or :2mana::symr: because you'd have the mana for it either way. But like I said, you guys are probably right. I think I like it as a :1mana::symr: common, I think. Maybe uncommon.

    Well i think the switch p/t made a similiar effect.

    That's only true for creatures with 1 power.

    Well this design was done in Oddysey i think, and it fails.
    What odyssey card are you talking about? How does it (or mine) fail?

    Your card here is strictly "better" than Time Warp. Why? Well its cheaper, and if it gets killed right away, its the worst szenario (which actual happens never, as you will never play it if you see the removal comming).
    My card is in no way strictly better than time warp. In a meta where decks pack enchantment removal, it is almost always far worse. It getting killed right away is not the worst scenario. The worse scenario would be it getting killed at a later point in the game where you couldn't afford to give your opponent 2 turns in a row (like when they have a creature swarm out).

    The real danger comes if someone breaks the drawback and gets extra turn after extra turn. Phasing worked with this for some time, as it gave you the "enter" but not the "Leaves" trigger, which should be fixed right now (as it worked with a creature similiar to your card here).

    This means, if theirs something comming that lets you counter "leaves play" triggers, you can go infinited with this one, maybe you even combo with Oblivion Rings etc. potential exists.
    I was worried about this too, but right now there are only three cards that can counter triggered abilities: Stifle, Trickbind, and Voidslime. All of those "combos" with Power Trip end up making it a more costly time warp.

    Now, you could imprint a stifle on an Isochron Scepter, then you could counter its leaves play trigger every turn. But you'd still need a way to continuously bounce the enchantment, like Temporal Adept. That's going to cost you 9 mana a turn (2 for the scepter, 3 for the adept, and 4 to re-cast Power Trip). Maybe there's a cheaper way to repeatedly bounce it, but still, the combo we're discussing is harder to pull off (and less obvious) than anything with Time Sieve.

    Battlethirst :1mana::symr: (C)
    Instant
    Target creature gets +X/-X until end of turn, where X is its toughness minus 1.

    ^edit: raised the cost from R to 1R.

    Lich's Bargain :2mana::symb::symb::symb: (M)
    Sorcery
    Target player loses half his or her life, rounded up, then draws that many cards.

    ^EDIT: I incorrectly typed "draw" instead of "draws" in the original. The point is that whoever loses the life draws the cards. Should the cost be increased to 3BBB?

    Entropy Loop :symu::symb: (R)
    Enchantment
    Whenever you draw a card, if it was not the first card you drew this turn, each other player discards a card.

    Power Trip :2mana::symu::symu: (M)
    Enchantment
    When Power Trip enters the battlefield, take an extra turn after this one.
    When Power Trip leaves the battlefield, skip your next turn.
    Temporary omnipotence is wonderful, but the hangover is murder.

    ^I posted a variation of this long ago on mtgnews. Appropriate to give it a 1-mana discount over Time Warp if I expect enchantment removal to be relevant anyway, right?

    There are only two card to date that specifically hose library-searching: Shadow of Doubt and Aven Mindcensor. The first only stops searching for a turn, the second doesn't stop it completely but severely limits it. I think completely shutting down library searches, permanently, is just too mean. A single card completely shuts down every land-ramp strategy ever, not an uncommon deck type.

    Mindlock Orb?

    Also, as mentioned in the first post, Cosi's Trickster may not explicitly refer to library searching but it is obviously a library search hoser. And Archive Trap is specifically a search hoser, although the hose itself is probably irrelevant unless you're a mill deck.

    Although on a card with this many lines/abilities already, using "Provoke" is probably better because it helps simplify it.

    I think this is a neat idea but I think I'd only want to see it on one creature.

    If they don't have a 1 or 2 drop against Sabotage Technician, all their fetches are dead cards.

    Quote from TheOnlyOne652089

    However you should not make searching impossible as its such a important part right now.

    I think it would be pretty silly to not make a card just because it could hose the 5 highest-priced rares in the most recent set. I'd rather see things like this than cards that make it seem even more like fetches are the only way to succeed right now.

    That said, these all seem a little too inexpensive, especially parasitic thoughts and sabotage technician. The tech should probably be just a 2/1 for RR without haste. A little fetch hosing is fine, but I wouldn't want to shut down landfall and land ramp altogether given that it's such an important part of zendikar.

    Love the thread title!

    shrieking bats - I have a problem with monowhite bats, but I guess the source material already OK'd that. Fine card! (I always liked Catacomb Dragon for some reason, too.)

    wrathful mummy - funny name, neat card. Is the self-exiling a Cyclopean Mummy reference/homage?

    blind - fantastic and incredibly flavorful. genius. my only slight gripe is that you're using blind as a verb here I assume (to blind someone), but auras aren't usually verbs. Or perhaps I'm just not thinking of some verby auras. Paralyze is one, but that's really old.

    Cursed Presence - great! but is this really a white ability? It's a No Mercy variant. Feels more appropriate as a white/black gold card, not hybrid.

    Dessicated Attendant - fine by me.

    Altar of Twilight - this would be so much more exciting to me if it was monoblack and let you draw a card instead of something wimpy like gaining 1 life. Great idea though, and pretty name.

    I love this card. Amazing design. It's like a Beast of Burden (or red's Keldon Warlord) but for damage. It's the red wrath of god. Sorry Breaking Point! It's almost too bad the name "Chain Lightning" was taken.

    Could this be a future core set card?
