Is it just me, or are sets beginning to look like video games with seasonal skins? Like it's all just a costume party for characters.

it isn't just you. And if we had some attachment to these characters beyond "...cool commander I guess?" it'd be a sweet selling point. As it stands it just comes across as awkward and stilted.

    Agreed.

Because Reinterpret grabs from a small subset (your hand) while counterpoint grabs from the graveyard, in a graveyard deck that makes the new card automatically tailored for the current situation as compared to Reinterpret as you can oly work with what is in your hand and mostly could have cast anyways.

You starting with the premise that Reinterpret is a good card... which is not.

or they were just answering your question?

You don’t have to choose, for the rest of the game you can play as many as you want.

This is generally worse than draw X for XBB at instant speed, but stealing is fun!

I don't know what the original source is, but it's on MTGspoilers/goldfish now: https://www.mtggoldfish.com/price/Ravnica Murders at Karlov Manor/Leyline of the Guildpact#paper

This is the four hybrid symbols card. Makes sense that green is the shared color. I'm glad it's not another Niv-Mizzet with no storyline mention or implications.

Like most leylines, it's something I wouldn't be thrilled to hardcast but would be very nice to start the game with - in a deck with tough mana needs and/or one that has color synergies.

The German name is fantastic, wow. Definitely going to only refer to this as the spannungsschreiter. What a language!

This is the first collect evidence card I've found interesting, mainly because it's just the mechanism to fuel the cast ability. I can't tell if the card is actually good though. Collect evidence 6 is a lot, and you don't get to cast the spell for free.

I wasn't assuming tokens, hence why I stated "IF". Please don't make dense, oafish, mouth-breather assumptions like that.

Then that can also include morphs or anything else face down.

    What is wrong woth you?

Can you please add to the conversation and not just have a reaction?

Dude... seek treatment. No idea why you are coming in here with such a negative and rude attitude, especially when the original response to you was clearly a response to the portion of your first comment about tokens.

    ANYWAY
"Hexproof on your turn" seemed kinda odd to me, but it makes sense as an anti-morph card since it prevents him from being targeted by morph creatures' flip-up abilities.

A 4/2 for 2G would ordinarily be a risky p/t in a morph set, but his abilities nicely flip that on its head.

I see you guys are failing to notice on the veldaken shoulder

its The next tradition of ravnica sets Fblthp sighting.

It's mentioned in the post literally right above yours.

I've always kinda liked spell rupture in u/g decks, this seems like a nice upgrade. Also the "up to one" clause on the counter portion means you can just use this to pump a creature +X if that's all you need.

Odd choice for a reprint, given lack of lifegain synergy that we've seen so far. And if they are introducing us to angels on this plane for the first time, sort of a letdown to make it a reskinned reprint (though the art is quite cool).

Please... stop... need to go... one week... without new cards...

The problem is all yours. Just stop looking on those threads for a while and cure your compulsive attitude if knowing too much stuff too early makes you feel bad. For me WotC could show new cards every single day until I die and I couldn't be happier about it.

The tone of my post was in jest, I'm not really suffering from seeing too many new cards.

But I disagree with your point. Releasing new cards at a breakneck speed has a very real cost. These cards need to be designed, and ideally they should be balanced too. This takes time, and resources. And buyer fatigue is a real thing. You may enjoy looking at new cards every day - but will you be buying new cards every day? Do you think the average mtg player will be?

    next week is preview season

I think we've moved well past the concept of preview seasons. New cards are previewed today. New cards were previewed last week. New cards are previewed next week. There is no preview "season" it's just previews all the time, with very brief breaks. Perhaps "non-preview season" is a more apt term for the ~2 weeks a quarter where there is nothing new being teased.
