I ran this for awhile and found that the aggressive artifact decks that wanted it could often perform just as well with more generic options like Bonesplitter, Eater of Virtue, Transmogrant's Crown, etc. The lack of trample was regularly an issue in the ceiling cases.
Not a card for powered cubes but for slower environments with deeper artifact support, this seems intriguing. I don't believe we've yet had spell that creates three artifact permanents for three mana.
This guy hits on a lot of notes but I don't think it challenges Pia and Kiran Nalaar or Siege-Gang Commander. Tokens that can't block are too much of a liability for slower decks. But I dig the upkeep effect and can see it being solid in aristocrats.
More cross-pollination support for a counters-matters subtheme. Not necessarily an upgrade over Needle Spires but the interaction is more appealing - will be making the swap.
Assuming your board isn't empty, the backup trigger has a fair likelihood having low impact or just being ok. Sun Titan at least guarantees recursion on ETB whereas this is play and pray. Decent but too conditional imo.
Seems like a decent colorless ramp target. Unfortunately doesn't flicker or reanimate well but the unearth adds a little bit of synergy. I don't run Eldrazi so I'm prob going to test.
Currently running Saheeli, Sublime Artificer which is probably what I'd cut for this. I've found that the hybrid mana on Saheeli gets it into a ton of decks though, and it has better overall resiliency. But this is better for the pure spellslinging gameplans, which I'm trying to encourage more of. Might just run both while I test.
Feels like this needed modular or something to push it a bit more. As it stands I think I may still try it - I run a deeper artifact theme than most. But I don't expect it to be as versatile as Pia Nalaar due to the tap cost. Will have to see if the interaction added by being an artifact makes up for it.
Getting wrathed and being left with a clunky vehicle is better than being left with nothing, as will be the case with most green cards in this slot. 3 permanents on ETB is nice - opens doors for archetypes. And a ceiling worth exploring. As already mentioned very slick in an artifact cube.
