Wasn’t Elspeth killed by Heliod with Godsend? Otherwise, it is an awesome equipment, a godkiller

Blue's anti-counter tech is counterspells. This spell isn't uncounterable.

I'm just going to snip down here because you just listed a whole bunch of cards that are explicitly and overtly about large creatures. That isn't "card draw" that's "put a big creature on the field." Green only has big creatures. "planeswalker removal" there is just a big creature. Come on now.
First off, if you think Questing Beast is the extent of Planeswalker removal Green has, you are horribly mistaken buddy.
Second, putting the secondary, in-Green effect in a creature doesn't suddenly makes it fine because it's a big creature, just like putting Sphinx's Revelation in mono-White will never happen if your justification is "it's just a big lifegain spell". If all this wasn't part of Green's color pie, it would be a color pie violation like any other effect.

They haven't done "destroy non-creature permanent" in years, but again that's also got the word "creature" written into it. Nowadays you're going to see any planeswalker tech either attached to a creature or like vivien, arkbow ranger a rabid bite type effect. Green's ability to do anything even a little bit out of its pie is dependent on you having a big creature. We never get stuff like this anymore. Even land ramping has lost a lot of lustre in the last decade or so. Elfball isn't a thing anymore. It's all craterhoof behemoths now.

My point isn't that they do non-green things on creatures, it's that all the non-green things you cite are centered around or on creatures. You can do direct damage so long as it's coming from a creature. You can gain life or draw cards based on how many creatures you have or how powerful your creatures are. You can card select as long as it's for a creature. You can counter spells that target your creatures.

I wonder if the trails (wind? webs?) surrounding him and his weapons are somewhat similar to the ones on The Wanderer on purpose, unintentionally or just completely unrelated?

I also wonder what his unique static ability that added loyalty was going to be.

Nah it's just extra klothys strands. They really do look almost identical.

$5 says it was +1 for enchantments entering the battlefield.

Yes, that's the one. Did it get banned in standard, I thought it was there through rotation. I do know it got banned in Pioneer. What puzzles me is that it was even attractive to those that played it. In effect you're banking your whole game on the one thing you can't control - your opponent's willingness to concede.

I think it might have just been banned on arena. Which is the right choice imo. Durdley control decks have no place digitally where you can't just flip off your opponent or at least get up and go get a drink or something while you wait.

I don't understand the theme of this ongoing complaint about white cards. Do you also get annoyed when green gets large creatures or blue gets a set mechanic based draw spell?
No, because Green and Blue have other tools to play with instead of large creatures and drawing cards. The issue isn't that gaining life and making tokens is boring, it's that it seems to be the only two things White is consistently doing nowadays.

Green used to suck, now it got card selection, card draw, ramp, Graveyard retrieval, life gain, toolboxing, token production, empowering creatures, protection, hell even transmutation and Planeswalker removal.

These titans make me wonder how playable they are if you don't intend to Escape them or at least don't expect to every game. They seem pretty good as what are essentially legendary sorceries without the need for other legendaries.

IMHO, that should be the expecation - the titans actually coming into play is fairly difficult to set up so the real question is, does your deck want the evoke effect. I'm quite sold on the evoke effects having value if they were printed as sorceries.

It's a bit of a tough sell, this is basically growth spiral but without the end of opponents turn playability and plus one mana. Having flashback is important here though, I think.

How many recent sets is this where blue gets an alternate wincon? I've asked this before, but when did this be come part of blue's piece of the pie?

It's probably because, traditionally, blue had no good means of actually ending the game. Yes, we now have aggro/tempo decks like Mono-Blue Devotion, but it really shouldn't be that way. Morphling was long considered the best creature in the game for its flexibility, but primarily it was just a lone creature for Blue to close the game with. In Modern, in UW Control, they have Celestial Colonnade to close the game. I dunno if you've ever played against UW Control, but the games go FOREVER and often I wish they just had an easier way to end it than digging for a colonnade and beating down slowly.

tl:dr If you're blue, you need alternate win-cons. Because in a pure world, with a pure color pie, blue creatures suck.

What's interesting to me is that Simic Turns (or whatever you want to call it) in the M19 standard didn't seem to actually have any way to win the game 99% of the time, relying instead on the opponent just quitting, but that's more forcing a draw than anything else. I kind of wish that deck had 1x this to put out and just win.

You talking about those nexus of fate decks? That's the entire reason the card was banned. No fun to play against and not even really a win if you have even one hydroid counter.

I don't understand the theme of this ongoing complaint about white cards. Do you also get annoyed when green gets large creatures or blue gets a set mechanic based draw spell? It makes lifelinky wind drakes with every enchant you play. Like it or not gaining life is an extremely on point and synergistic feature of white decks. Play with Ajani's welcome, Ajani's Pridemate, Heliod, Sun-Crowned, and a passel of oblivion rings and the deck slaps. The Deck is a Bop.
