Cursed Courtier feels so bad. It's a 3 mana 1/1 and if you do the synergy thing it's made for, your reward is just a 3/3 with lifelink?
I mean your reward is you trigger celebration on ETB and you have a token to Bargain with. Or, bc you can only have one role attached to a creature, you could get a 4/4 with whatever if you have something else making a role. It's actually very elegantly in the middle of every mechanic in the set.
Yeah, I see the point of it and I'll give it a shot in draft, but I can't help comparing it to Jewel Thief or Preening Champion which are commons, though admittedly top tier ones. Maybe modern Magic has spoiled me.
Definitely feels like based on the leaks that this was going to swing the power level down a little bit with the rotation that we're now not doing. Eldraine 1 was the same way after WAR tbh.

I bet we see a few other victims of the standard rotation change. This won't see play until Memory Deluge rotates.
Yeah that's just what I was thinking. This could be made playable pretty easily with even a little token generation but why do that when there's more or less the same card but better out there?
Sheesh, more manlands, this time with combat triggers.
Seeing some fun new tools for mono-red and mono-green to play with here, despite the multicolored adventures.
The adventures deck looks fun too tbh.
I am not seeing anything that's really going to splash standard, though. I've come all the way around on the widening of standard tbh. I am sick and tired of the same cards from innistrad and kamigawa dominating the field. I hate graveyard trespasser I hate graveyard trespasser *wotc bursts in* "come out and play Alchemy we have you surrounded"
Perhaps we as a community should create a "Pauper Commander" format where only commons and uncommon legendary creatures can be used and see if it catches on?
I wanted to revisit this. The format exists but not exactly as MysticX has suggested. You can use ANY uncommon creature as your commander. By my estimation that is well over 4000 potential Commanders. MysticX suggests that we limit that to LEGENDARY Uncommon Commander creatures. This would limit the Commander pool to 300 to 400 possible Commanders.
Frankly that is how I would envision Pauper Commander. Just using any Uncommon creature as a Commander sullies the format in my opinion.
I mean, up until very recently there were only a handful of non-rare legends and most of those were crummy Legends/Homelands guys.
Also strictly speaking I was talking about a land sac deck and demonic hordes lets you (*cough* your opponent) destroy one of your own lands every turn for free.

Apparently so, yes
Also, does this mean each draft archetype is getting two mythics??

Obviously enchantment adventures, come on
• a new mechanic that batches together three items that have been in the game since Alpha but never batched before
It's gonna be like Historic but for idk enchants artifacts and lands or something.
If they banned the card would you have to change your profile pic
