That's bad design. If it gains deathtouch that's your incentive to not block. Then taking away the choice makes things less interesting. Also the colors would lend itself more towards deathtouch + Lure anyway.
Not everything is about attacking... could you imagine an ability that is useful one way when attacking, useful a different way when blocking? Could you conceive of that? Maybe an made-ability you read recently would be just that. Maybe.

No, the wording on it is "another" creature, and if there are no legal targets it simply does not happen.

Also science fiction is literally a branch of fantasy. There's no actual split, just a sort of vain assumption that science fiction "could" be real even though they continually introduce and rely on narrative elements that are literally impossible. In star trek they met god and time traveled a bunch and there's many psychics doing ESP stuff.

It is again incredibly clear that you did not read the books, as the passages you're quoting are not a song sung by tom bombadil but a poem written by frodo.
You yourself are "taking a dump on the source" or whatever.
I'm not gonna touch on the incorrect concept you're building off of where Songs or Poetry are literal physical descriptions of things.
