They really need some 1 costing friends. I wish they had a little more diversity too. if they're supposed be be a group of advanturers with different skills to add to the party why do most of them spam the same abilitly? Flavor wise it irks me and I find it lazy. I had high hopes for them but I could see them going the way of scarecrows.
For constructed....not yet. I was hoping we'd see something like a 1 CMC green ally with Tap: to add one mana of any color to your mana pool. Spend this mana only on Ally creatures/spells. Here's hoping they get more gas next set.
Wait....opponenet I'm going to pay 1 and sac my pridemage to which I tap a mountain and lightning bolt the mage. I can't do that anymore? I haven't played much since M10 coming out.
I guess we can still burn/d blade the pridemage in response to them sacrificing it if the enchantment in question will give us the win. But with Bloodchief Ascension and Quest for the Gravelord working in conjuction with Blightnings and Volcanic Fallouts I don't think 4 pridemages will cause to much of a problem.
What about Quest for the Gravelord? With all the board sweeping we'll have a 5/5 vanilla that survives the sweeps and doesn't really need trample or evasion.
I would like to see an Ally themed land. Like tap to regenerate target ally or tap to return target ally from your graveyard to your hand. I'm sure we'll see a couple of vanilla allies most likely a red one with 1 cmc with no abilities.
Ancient Ziggurat and Terramorphic Expanse are cheap mana fixers. Academy Ruins is a rare but can help bring back scarecrows. Galepowder Mage and Mistmeadow Witch can blink your scarecrows in and out of play to terminate stuff and you're already playing wizened cenn. Hmmm, you're playing a lot of changelings so you could add some of the tribal equipment from Morningtide to give them some more bite.
