The flashback one is pure value, and the BUG one is pure value, while the ones with trash mechanics and weaker colours are also weaker and trashier. Everything went pretty much as expected, nothing to see here people.

Jesus. My playgroup was tossing up oathbreaker, I hadn't thought of the idea of just sticking a tutor in the signature slot like that. Really kills my interest in the format, kills it stone dead. Gonna have to propose a house-rule if we're going to have a go of it.

Lol wood elemental is perfect, but the others are just too good for this deck. The creatures need to actively hurt you when they come in, in a way that is more intense than 1 life per turn.

The general does not have to be Dralnu, thats just the current best option. Karona, False God is pretty terrible though, so I could maybe make an argument for 5C, though she isn't as on point flavour wise as Dralnu.

At the moment, my game plan is cast Leviathans, use cards like Ledgerdomain and Puca's Mischief to swap them for decent creatures. Dralnu helps facilitate that plan by recasting some of the exchange spells, while being a potentially terrible creature too. Sultai, being what it is, is severely lacking in awful three colour commanders so BUG is out of the question.

I've found mono blue still has serious game in 1v1, but in bo3 I'm not a fan of that damn pro blue dinosaur being boarded in. Its almost "5 mana, win", though I did manage to beat it in one game where I was massively ahead by the time it dropped.

Been jamming Feather Black instead, and finally got my noob a** out of gold. Feels like the deck that will take the 'niche' that monoU was in before. Its faster than blue, has more tricks, but has less consistent draw and the tricks lack the brute force of counterspells.

Found myself doing much better against aggressive decks, *way* better against red, and operating at a strong and consistent level instead of a very strong but inconsistent level against control. The midrangy matchups seem worse than blue typically is, but again the floor is higher and the ceiling lower.

Lol. One deck gets flashback, the other gets madness. The madness general better be incredible

How are people finding U Tempo now? I felt that Teferi would kill the deck, but he just means you need to have counters up on turn 3 for those frequent Esper matchups. Less people are running counterspells and to a lesser extent instants due to Teferi so we have more game here than before.

We also picked up the Ghost Pirate. A 1/1 flash flier with late game draw is a big deal IMO. I've run him into red decks which would mountain+shock a traditional 1 drop, but instead we wait for them to play their T2 and then flash him in.

Post rotation theres posibility that Ghost Pirate and the +1 counter on other peoples turns merfolk could form a similar deck to what we have here, but with the loss of curious obsession in particular I'm not sure what, if any, blue based tempo is going to pick up the reigns when this deck is gone.

Edit: Wow, just got Ceratops'd. Uncounterable, pro blue, reach? Love that this type of colour hate is back in the game. I thought their new philosophy was to reduce the number of non-games?

Hexproof creatures combined with some anti-wrath tech (Heroic Intervention or counterspells etc) is a reasonable combination.

RW is pretty good for granting indestructible, which gets around the bulk of the wraths. Archangel Avacyn, Avacyn, Angel of Hope

Otherwise, Kamahl can turn lands into creatures to deter wraths, and there are a number of blue generals with some sort of counterspell ability built in.

I'm really liking these middling bad creatures. Something like Boldwyr or Caliph are pretty awful, in a way that is more aggressive but also more playable than Leviathan. Cheers for the suggestions!

Keep em coming, these are terrible.

Things like Kezzerdrix, which are awful but not unbelievably awful, are more for a V.2 of the deck. If the Leviathan plan is just too awful to ever do anything, these merely 'bad' creatures will start coming in.

Sorry I didn't acknowledge you in my earlier post Melkor, for some reason only FetalTadpole's post was visible to me.

Tresserhorn was the original commander, but there weren't enough Hired Giant's in red.

Good lord, those other ones are atrocious.

So I've got an idea for a super casual deck. In my playgroup, we allow proxy cards. So I wanted to make a deck with all the fast mana, best lands, 1 mana tutors, power cards etc.... and ramp into Leviathan type garbage as the only wincons.

So wondering what are some similar *trash* creatures, ideally with terrible downsides. Currently UB, I mostly found islandhome and terrible demons hence those colours were best.

Current general is Dralnu, Lich Lord as he is a creature with a terrible downside. But I'm open to other generals too if it gives more creatures.
