The only real fun i had with aftermath was in some MoM booster drafts where an epilogue booster or two was drafted at the end. most of the time, though, I felt like it was still a missed opportunity for them to just make aftermath a full set and have the whole thing be two blocks since once of the main complaints for them was that the whole march of the machines story and rollout felt rushed. anyway.
Another option they could do is have these be sort of like the "mysitcal archive" of the set but just have it represent additional special characters, events and such from the story
Really liking the dual color adventure cards, they make me wanna play this more than the mono colored original eldraine. Favorite cards are the bargain dragon for some sort of treasure dragon deck with Magda, also mosswood dreadknight, just for the recurrence/card draw.
With realmbreaker boring holes through all planes in the mutliverse, the very fabric of the planes was weakened. Emraukul, bound in Innistrad's Silver Moon, noticed this weakness, as if an unknown benefactor had opened the door to a jail cell, and used it to flee to the Blind Eternities. Kozilek and Ulamaog, too were free. But they knew they had been beaten before. The mutliverse had shown them a fight it had not expected. but still, They were eternal, and they had learned.
And so, they decided to merge their essences into a single Being. This being had all the memories of all the Eldrazi, its new form alien even to the original Eldrazi. It sensed that the multiverse was weakened from invasion, but it knew that it could not just rush in to a multiverse that was still united. it needed time, so that the multiverse would forget that they were united against oblivion. Time also to watch...and plan.
Emruakul, Kozilek, and Ulamog are now free due to realmbreaker boring holes to the Blind Eternities. They can also now combine in to their new form, Zhulodok.
Emrakul, Ulamaog and Kozilek all cost 10 and are 10/10 indestructible. They have one unique ability each, for instance, Emrakul draws 3 cards upon etb, Kozilek returns another creature from your graveyard to the battlefield (maybe helpful for their combination), and Ulamog searches your library for a card. they all also have Triple Meld: If, at the beginning of your end step, you both own and control Emrakul, Kozilek, and Ulamog, you may exile them and return them to the battlefield transformed (yes, all 3 together).
[[Transformed]]
Zhulodok, Ender of Days
15/15
Flying trample, indestructible, double strike, haste.
When this transforms in to Zhulodok, you may take another turn after this one.
When Zhulodok attacks, you maybe exile up to 3 target permanents.
I think he'll end up on ixalan again with no memory of anything. it'll be like Groundhog Day/Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind ( kind of fitting, hah), mtg style.
Elraine sounds....darker this time. perhaps some graveyard mechanic might be in this.
Also perhaps some sort of sleep/dream mechanic because apparently everyone is falling asleep.
also some color charges- like last time we had "good/noble" fairies in GUW, this time, more "tricky/dark" fairies in B/U
knights vs dragons... the two tribal themes in this set
"dark/brothers grimm" type fairy tales as opposed to more "cheerful/arthurian" ones from the previous set. Adventures still in, but for these dark stories.
My main complaint, story wise, is that there seems to be no foreshadowing of what comes next. Alright, half of the walkers lost sparks. What are they doing now? Perhaps this story arc is just "over", though and we'll see more planes like Moag or Ragitha without worrying about any developing plotline. I'd also like to see some more historical sets, after we got Brother's war. A set detailing the rise and fall of the thran would be interesting. Or perhaps the forming of the Guildpact.
sort of nice they don't totally rip you off sometimes
Maybe something like
"Whenever a creature you control with deathtouch deals combat damage to a player, draw a card"

aww
yes that's ai
