mikeyG posted a message on Introduce YourselfHey all, I'm ... back, I guess?Posted in: Community Discussion
Retired admin circa forever ago, reformed narcissist, and still a sassy curmudgeon. I grew up a bit, now I run a nonprofit org in Alberta and work with kids. I used to joke that my time here prepped me for my job, and that's only partially a joke. Helping to keep MTGS running taught me patience, the limits of authority, how to deal with conflict (hahaha, there was always so much conflict!), and how to keep folks engaged. So thank you for that.
Back into the game after a very long sabbatical (literally the last cards I ever bought before this return were from Planeshift, so ...), really only for EDH and custom card design. Woooo. -

I'm guessing they're making him flat-out ageless instead of severely slowly aged.
Re: Opt - I wonder if that's a powerstone? Besides the Immortal Sun, they're the only things we know can hold sparks.
Yeah, I've been rooting for the Raven Man to take over Liliana for so long, it was weird and refreshing to root for her instead.Quote from Etherium Sage »Quote from ryuplaneswalker »Oh hey the twist about Josu was a double twist. Groovy.
Good story, actually great story as I didn't hate Liliana through the entire thing.
Operation: Make the Gatewatch More Likable is proceeding as planned.
Oddly enough, in the process of making Liliana more likable, they're somehow making Gideon more likable too IMO. He's actually being extremely pragmatic and strategic about his choices here, while still helping out his (for the time being, at least) ally. I'm not going to say I ship them, but Gideon and Liliana do work well together.
Also, the prospect of Gideon wielding Blackblade as a replacement for his sural is pretty intriguing to me. -

Myrmadillo posted a message on Availability of Ice Age Novels (The Gathering Dark, The Eternal Ice, The Shattered Alliance)Thanks for the response! I couldn't find the thread you mentioned, but I did manage to find the Ebook link in the Storyline Resources thread. I've never used Kindle, so I'll have to figure out how that works.Posted in: Magic Storyline
By the way, thank you for all your work on the Archive Trap. Your thread (A Vorthos Guide to Magic Story) has been my primary resource as I catch up on the last 20 years of the MTG storyline. -

LostCadence posted a message on Magic Storyline Resources (The Stories and Lore Are Here)I *love* the most recent update (it must have happened yesterday)! I've been rummaging through dozens of disparate sources - your guide here, your guide on reddit, Squirle's Multiverse in Review, GatheringMagic (though I had not seen any of the articles I think you just added to this guide), etc. Love the addition of so many short stories in the middle of (for example) the pre-revision chronology. Thanks for all the hard work you do.Posted in: Magic Storyline -

Quannage posted a message on Dominaria General Discussionyeah to piggyback on that, the archive traps articles at this site have been great at providing comprehensive summaries of each of MTG's most important stories. in lieu of hunting down the books, these are great sources.Posted in: Magic Storyline -

What do you think your original quoted text meant?Quote from ryuplaneswalker »It doesn't bother you that people involved with the story are saying things that directly contradict what we see in story?
Angrath is the furious and tone-deaf patriarch,
furious extremely angry.
tone-deaf unable to perceive subtle differences in atmosphere
patriarch the male head of a family or tribe.
What directly contradicts what we see in the story? - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

My feeling is that the bipedal humanoids were elves. But also remember humans exist within the next 7-8,000 years because the Numena had to overthrow the Primevals.
I think the Elder Dragons that didn't hatch might be the origin of The First Eruption creation myth on Shiv. I think it's Chromium that ducks his head into the crater their impact creates and the implication is the mountain has become a volcano.
The implication is that the Primevals are a later clutch of dragons spawned by the Ur-Dragon.
I'm not sure what the Darigaaz/Tarox fight you're referring to is. I don't see that implication in their bios. It might happen, because Tarox seeks supremacy and will eventually eat his siblings, but that version of Tarox hasn't happened yet (and may not come to pass).

With elder dragons returning, are you curious about elder lore? I wrote about it earlier this year!

Then showing a story that features a nine planeswalker super team is definitely the way to go, lol.
