I know I made an error about Nissa's origin from DOTP 2012. It should have been the original DOTP. -
Sep 22, 2015Jay13x posted a message on Archive Trap: The World of Zendikar: Part IDo you have a reference for the Moon Kraken being Lorthos? If I missed something, I'm happy to change it.Posted in: Articles
The Moon Kraken (the character you're talking about) doesn't seem to have much in common with Lorthos other than being a sea creature (he's much smaller, for one thing), and if Lorthos had started out as a Kraken I might be inclined to think it got changed after the book was written, but the articles I link to here say he started as an Octopus. In addition, Speaker Sutina was a Tajuru elf (Nissa was on a kind of Mission with them), and the small story with Lorthos indicates he's on the coast of Ondu, while the Moon Kraken was on the coast of Akoum. But, frankly, I don't trust anything from In the Teeth of Akoum anyway, which I'll explain in the next article.
Now, don't get me wrong, I wish In the Teeth of Akoum had a cameo like that, but we're talking about a book that gets the main character's name wrong on the first page (Nissa Revine).
We discuss the plot in parts II and II, where we talk about the block novel in detail -

Not so much, as the resurrect ability only occurs upon casting, not coming into play. That would be ridiculous if it did, but I think Demigod of Revenge already fulfills that role.
I have no problem with cards designed for more casual play. The whole point of Magic is to have fun. If you want serious competition, take up sports.
Also, I literally just found out what orb of insight actually did about ten minutes ago, so please cut me some slack.
However there are three instances of planeswalker in the set, so unless there is a spell that targets planeswalkers or Gideon does, we still have a chance of a third planeswalker.
*Note, since I just now figure out the eye of insight, I've fixed the numbering list. Ugin and Ghostfire don't appear, so I've removed them

Bear Umbra + Omnath = Pure awesome.
Turn 1: Forest, Wild Growth
Turn 2: Forest, Omnath
Turn 3: Forest, Bear Umbra, attack with a 3/3, tap all lands again for a 7/7
Turn 4: Forest, Tap all lands, attack with a 8/8, tap all lands again for a 13/13
Eldrazi ain't got nothing on him.
If his level up was B or tapping was his only cost to activate the ability, he'd be a lot better. As it is I could still use him. At level 1 he will be a great way to pop enemy creatures and activate Blade of the Bloodchief for my casual deck.
In either case, I like him better than Phyrexian Plaguelord.
