I meant less about the art itself, and more about how she's dressed to make a dominatrix blush, haha.
And I do like Ashnod, she's a great morally gray character.

Apr 10, 2016Jay13x posted a message on Archive Trap: The World of InnistradThe cardinal suggestions I gave were arbitrary. We know both Gavony and Stensia border the three other regions, and since Thraben is the northernmost parish and depicted as near mountains, the Stensia connection is pretty obvious. Kessig and Nephalia were a little harder, but they both border Gavony and Stensia but not explicitly each other, so they had to be to one side or the other. The east west was just arbitrary, it could be reversed, too.Posted in: Articles
We will probably know a lot more when the Innistrad Art Book comes out. -

Jan 6, 2016Jay13x posted a message on Why Spoilers are ImportantThere's a distinction here, and I tried to convey that but maybe I didn't do it well. I think the scenario you're describing is hard to translate accurately in a metaphor to a card game. You're right that it is a slippery slope. The leaked script is more akin to the Godbook than an individual magic card. The Godbook itself is a document that I'm not comfortable sharing, and that as a site we do not allow to be posted even when leaked.Posted in: Articles
The challenge with card leaks is, as I mentioned, the value of a magic card is in its utility, not the consumption of the media (like a script or film). That's why Wizards can post a database of every card they've every printed freely, and why they don't go after other sites that do the same. That's also why we're active against proxy discussions on MTGS, because creating a proxy IS theft.

Jan 2, 2016Jay13x posted a message on Why Spoilers are ImportantHey, I'll be certain to include a TL;DR summary at the end in the future :p. Seriously though that's a fair concern, And we cut my rambling down significantly. I did think it was important to lay out a lot of background, though, but I'll try to be better about getting to the point in any future editorials.Posted in: Articles
On to your points - the way I phrased the hype machine may have been a little hyperbolic, but let's be real here: if marketing didn't significant sway the way people purchase things, why would companies invest in it? I wasn't talking about just me, per se, just that it's easy to be swayed by good marketing.
As for Trick, I'm sure he's a great guy but I stand by my assessment of his article. Maybe he didn't mean to also insult the fan community, but the first few paragraphs make his thoughts clear, as he's clearly talking about not just leakers but sites that publish leaks. Which is every site that doesn't have a financial incentive to stay in Wizards good graces.
But that's also just my opinion. I can see a different read of the article, but I think Maro or Kyle did a better job of addressing it without being condescending in the past. -

Yavimaya and Argoth is a continuity error from Time Spiral. People are assuming that because Karn found the Cylix there that it was Argoth.
Thallids originally came from Sarpadia, yes, but the Magic Story Podcasts have confirmed that they're now native to Yavimaya.
Nothing in the story explicitly says Molimo is from Yavimaya. This is a tough one, because it never says he's from Llanowar, either.
Anything could have happened with the Sylex/Cylix back in Shadowmage. We don't know if that was really the Sylex, or if this was. Both take place thousands of years after we last saw the original.
Don't confuse a character being wrong with a continuity error. The history books probably attribute the creation of the artifact to him for obvious reasons. Maybe it's his own version which he left with Multani in Yavimaya for safekeeping. We'll probably learn more once it and the 'apocryphal legacy' become relevant again.
Urza's mind did not fuse with Karn. His Powerstone eyes did, but there's nothing to indicate he has Urza's memories. Something of Urza probably survives, but it's not like Urza had Glacian's memories.
The whole point of the set was how history was remembered. While there were certainly a number of continuity errors, what's an actual continuity error, versus retroactive continuity, versus a character simply being wrong about a fact are reasonable questions. Belzenlok was deliberately lying about history, and other cultures clearly embellished their own version of events, so I was expecting some of the continuity to be weird.
No. We know who Chandra was before she sparked, and who Jaya was, too. They're not the same person.

Then showing a story that features a nine planeswalker super team is definitely the way to go, lol.
Aggravated Assault is a great piece for this deck.
Can you explain the infinite piece, there?
Also good.
Some of these choices are limited by the cards I have, so my TOD is in a different list. I AM looking to revamp my list in the near future, so I'll take a serious look at this.
If anything, I would swap it for Armillary Sphere. Quest for the Goblin Lord is a really strong card in this deck. It turns on very quickly, frequently in the same turn it comes down.
I could see this card replacing something to get more goblins on the board.
You can definitely do it, but I'm not sure it's worth it in this deck. In the games I play, missing some piece I would want is rarely an issue except late game.
I typically play large multiplayer games with lots of artifacts, so Vandalblast just works better for me. It's a meta call.
I'm actually looking to get rid of them. The non-Krenko infinite combos have only ever come together once.
It's a pretty big deal that a major pre-Mending planeswalker has been part of the story for the last decade. A LOT of the old vorthos did not think this was something that was going to happen, even back when the idea was first floated after The Purifying Fire came out.
Helm of the Host and Goblin Chainwhirler are things I'm investigating. The Helm has some major potential, but I'm waiting on the physical cards to play around with it more.
Legends I happens about 400 years after the Ice Age, while Legends II happens around 800 years ago. Check out my piece on the Elders of Dominaria (linked above) for a brief summary of Legends II. Go to Multiverse in Review for good stuff on Legends I.
