Charix sounds like a red elemental card, how is it a blue crab? What were they smoking when they named him...
Actually, they used the word Cancrix a couple times recently to refer to a crab in mtg, stemming from the ancient greek word for crab.
This is exactly what I thought when I saw the name.
I miss Lorthos. Was kinda hoping to see some Lorthos spawn cards or something here to suggest his babies will carry on the legacy of being a bad ass octo-dad.
I think it is now only represented by Tentacle tokens...
Is it safe to blow the dust off of the market place? I think I just saw a tumbleweed blow by...
Yeah, what happened here? This used to be a very lively forum that I loved reading...
Anyway, not sure if this belongs in the Commander thread or the "Other" thread (maybe for 93-94?), but there was, about a week ago, a huge buyout of North Star, both the original Legends version and the Italian one. Ok, sure, it's Reserved List, but also a really crappy card, and it was hovering around €10 on Cardmarket for the longest time. Then suddenly > 90% of all inventory was gone, it literally went down to less than a dozen of each of the two versions, and Legends NM were going for > €50.
Anyone have any clue what caused that.
Also, Braid of Fire has gone up a bit thanks to Leyline Tyrant, bt the Mystery Boost reprint is likely holding that in check.
So is this just X = the amount of mana you spent or X = the amount of mana from different colors you spent? If it's the former I like it - a lower-powered, but OK legend. If it's the latter though, ugh…
Indeed the former. You can cast it for BG with X=0 and it will be a 2/2. Also, as stated above, paying Commander Tax also means it gets +2/+2 for each time.
Considering I actually collect the cards, I'd rather pay less than more just to have some immediately...
And a few I'll never ever open.
The point is that for non-Devoid colorless spells, the colorless mana it produces is entirely sufficient, of course. But that ability is not special.
