So this is some kind of planeswalking insectoid swarm intelligence that just lives to consume and devour. A living, creeping, crawling, chitinous version of Phyrexian oil.
Not sure what Late to Dinner is supposed to be referencing. Art, flavor text and name don't make sense to me. Something I'm missing?
The name's a pun. The late elephant (assuming the dead one's the elephant) is late to the dinner party (hence the potluck Food token) because he was (until recently) dead. The rhino (assuming it's the one that's been alive the entire time) is remarking on his friend's general dedication and commitment to his schedule, so much so that not even the end of his life could deter his plans.
Well, the elephant is clearly a translucent spirit. The rhino looks old but still alive.
We need these two as a card in an unset. I'm moved.
I'm now seeing them as Magic's Waldorf & Stadler. Booo! Hisss!
"of a type" means that, if i choose human, my opponent elf, i can still return just elves or humans from my graveyard, not both, right ? wrong ?
Right, as I understand it. However, if you chose Human and your opponent chooses Elf, you can, if you so wish, return all Elves from your graveyard to the battlefield under your control.
Normally, of course, each player would return creatures of the type of their choice, and their choice would be motivated by what is best returned, be it by sheer numbers or an especially powerful creature.
The impact of demand on the price of 20+ year old, never reprinted rares is substantially higher than relatively recent uncommons.
Annnnd speaking of that, prices for certain 20+ year old rares has just skyrocketed! English near mint Liege of the Hollows is at nearly €50 on Cardmarket, and Deranged Hermit is twice that! Not to mention the foil is at SIX HUNDRED EUROS - and I actually have one... Had been a sheer chance draw back when I bought two displays of Urza's Legacy way back when.
Actually you know what Pitiless Plunderer is probably gonna be a somewhere around $10-$20 because of this squirrel and here’s why
I've recently seen you make price predictions. Your assumed prices are always verrry high... Ok, Pitiless Plunderer is a damned expensive uncommon, true, nothing under one € on Cardmarket.
The artwork for Ravenous Squirrel is hilarious, it's like Throne of Eldraine After Dark. I love the Squirrel meme.
That flavor text is very befitting the recently published "Unidentified Aerial Phenomena" seen by mostly Navy pilots and sailors. There was one video of one of the things just disappearing in the water...
So if you choose creatures, your creatures are untargetable by creature effects, unblockable, unkillable in combat except by Wither/Infect, and you yourself can't be damaged by creatures... Does not make you immune but turns off a lot of decks.
It kind of has a built-in Cathars' Crusade.

HIGH OCTANE NIGHTMARE FUEL
I love it!

This is actually pretty powerful. The triple blue probably rules it out for decks that really benefit from self-mill.
Also, oy, Flossed, you changed your piccy. Not so easily recognizable anymore.

Eliciting Wonder.
This will be a Commander favorite.
