I just bought all ten Shocklands in foil about a month ago.
It cost just under $400 (various sellers on eBay, pretty good deals for the most part).
A FTV containing all of them wouldn't go for *quite* as much,
as the original foils (if existent) always go for more.

It's still never going to happen.
I'd be surprised to see even one,
as that would be showing favoritism to that color pair.

I personally doubt we will see any duals of any kind,
though there's a remote possibility they could do all 5 ZEN fetches,
or the Future Sight duals since they're all askew, anyway,
and some people probably want them in standard frames.

My list took 2nd at FNM (3-0-1 record). It's not complete, and I am aware it is missing a few key cards (Not a money issue, the guy I was to trade with didn't show up).

The real list I want to run would do as follows:
    Main Deck
    -Garruk,Zenith,2 Master's Call, 2 Forest, 1 Plains
    +2 Elspeth, +2 Shrine, +3 Razorverge Thickets

    Board
    -2 Batterskull, - Sword of FaF,-Naturalize
+2 Gideon Jura, +2 Fresh Meat

From actually playing with the board as-is, though, Batterskull has been impressing me.

SB choices are designed to give me ~5 cards to sub in versus most decks. The Spellskites are mainly there to stop Angelic Destiny on Geist of Saint Traft, but I feel like I could run different cards in those slots because not all decks will run the Destiny.

In testing, this deck won most of its games, though I did not get to play many post-board.

    Round 1: RB Aggro/Vampires
I start the night off with a deck that hasn't proved very problematic. He gets screwed on land game one, and the natural foiling power of tokens versus aggro prevails. He Crushes a Shrine of LoyalLegions, but the board pressure by Blade Splicer and friends is too much.

    Game 2:+2 Batterskull, -2 Master's Call
Game two he gets screwed on land, and what he does cast- a Bloodcrazed Neonate with a Skeletal Grimace is chumped infinitely by a Beast token with two Intangible Virtues out.

Round 2: UW Humans (No sideboarding this round)
He overextends into a turn four Day of Judgment, and I drop threats for the win.

Game two is dominated by an Equipment-stacked Invisible Stalker with no Days in sight.

Game 3 is drawn out. We each build up a board state, wipe each others boards with Divine Reckoning and Day of Judgment, and dropping Elspeth and Garruk give me enough time to drop other token threats with multiple Virtues for a drawn-out kill.

    Round 3: Mono Blue Illusions
The deck was basically an event deck upgraded to four Copies of Lord of the Unreal, Phantasmal Bears/ Dragons, and other assorted nasties (I know this because I watched and helped the pilot make it T2 legal). Game 1 was over on turn 6, with minimal counters and a Hero of Bladehold.

At this point, I wasn't sure what to board yet (I had very little experience with post-board matchups other than White or Red Aggro, Control, and Blade)

Game 2 was back and forth, but she had a significant tempo advantage and an Unreal-guarded Phatasmal Dragon got there.

At this point, I knew what to bring in.
+2 Oblivion Ring, +2 Batterskull, - Monk, Overrun, Master's Call

Game 3 was basically an exercise of getting my opponent to burn counters, recasting/reequipping Batterskull after each Mind Control or bounce, and chumping/exiling creatures until I won. There were some tense points, but Batterskull got there.

All in all, the deck proved fun in testing and practice and I look forward to playing it as the meta evolves.

Neither of those are answers to Ratchet Bomb. They Play Ratchet Bomb, and than they sacrifice it to kill all of your creatures. There's no point were you have priority to stop them from doing so. Stony Silence isn't a bad card either, it's just not the card you want to play in this deck due to Shrine of Loyal Legions. If you boarded in 4, and than took out all of your Shrines than Stony Silence would be a fine answer to Ratchet Bomb.

However the best answer while keeping the deck in tact is looking like Nevermore. Force them to deal with the enchantment first before dealing with the tokens. Not to mention if you need to you can call say... Black Sun Zenith or anything else that might damper your tokens.

Nevermore is a catch-all, yes. No, they don't have to Black Sun for lethal, but not doing so is a little odd.

But I'm still thinking Fresh Meat is a better option out of the board for dealing with mass removal. Three mana is really tight on Blade Splicer and Midnight Haunting in most lists. Hero of Bladehold and DoJ are the primary 4-drops, and versus most decks that run Bombs/board wipes Fresh Meat replaces DoJ.

There is one case I can think of that Nevermore will beat Fresh Meat, and that's against other aggro decks running Ratchet Bomb, but I don't think that's very likely.

    no one use parallel lives?

It creates an advantage, but on turn four you should probably have a sizable board position that makes the four mana enchantment honestly unneeded. You don't need it to win and it does nothing by itself. The same could be same for Intangible Virtue, but two mana is a lot easier to work with than four and vigilance allows some savage beasts with flying Spirits and beefy first striking Golems among others.

    EDIT: 'Nathed.

I think this deck needs to dedicate SB slots to Stony Silence so it doesn't get hosed by rachet bomb and also improves some match ups.

Stony Silence turns off enemy Ratchet Bomb and Birthing Pod, sure. But you have to remember that it turns off OUR Shrine of Loyal Legions, Mortarpods after the initial drop, any Swords/Equips you have, and Mimic Vat if you elect to run it- all of which can and will likely see play. Specifically, Shrine sees play in every list- it's too strong not to include.

I honestly think that Stony Silence is more trouble than it is worth. If we want to block a Ratchet Bomb wipe, Fresh Meat will probably serve us better as they probably won't think of dropping it until around turn four or later anyway- not enough tokens to wipe. If we want to hose other activated artifacts, we should probably use the more conventional means of Oblivion Ring, Beast Within, and Naturalize/Creeping Corrosion/other artifact hate.

Stony Silence turns off Shrine of Loyal Legions and Mortarpod, which may or may not make you a little creature light game 2/3 if you run them. Fresh Meat is all anti-mass removal. Stony Silence can only hit Ratchet Bomb, but it can hose equipments and Pod too.

Both are good cards in their own rights, and ultimately it will be a meta call, but I haven't gotten around to any testing- has anyone found one or the other more viable? Or is it main-deack dependent?

@Manders: It does, it does. Good game for both sides in terms of entertainment and I had fun playing, despite all the endgame grief I delivered. :p

@Rag: I'm with Manders on this one. If we had known that A_E targeted Manders, here's some of the likely aftereffects:

-Knowing that there was 3 town PRs, including yourself, would put all of the town's roles in the open. But, under the premise of a 4-PR town would unbalance the game, Manders being RBed, and AE being the only targeter, that means that AE would have been a lynch, taking out the RBer.

-With the real RBer out of the way, that means I would be alive (But likely under a little scum scrutiny to some degree). It also means that Manders would get to fire at Shalako since his watcher claim was false (Since you would have to counterclaim) in addition to claiming scum, putting town out of LyLo as the town intended.

That would have left the following for a NK:
Mandershex, 22bebo 2.0, TIK, Ragnarokio, Escorien
    Scum:
    Atlseal

Of the town, I think that either Ragnarokio would have been the NK for HN3 (Hypothetical Night 3) on the merits of Bebo not having much content in his new form, TIK being pretty townie, Manders being just plain vanilla after she blew her shot, and me being still partially vulnerable to mislynch. However, Manders has experience, and that might make her the NK, but if a Watcher gets to see NKs, then Rag is the kill for sure to maximize scum victory chances.

I KNEW I wasn't crazy when I thought Atlseal was scum!

Now to have more time to prove such.

In bigger games, there are roles that are not inherently aligned with either the town or scum. These neutrals usually have alternate win conditions such as being a Serial Killer- who kills once a night and wins by being the last man standing out of ALL players- and the Survivor, who must last to endgame to win, I believe.

@bebo: Either the town or scum win as a team. Thus, you can win even if you are dead, given you aren't a neutral with your own wincon.

@TIK: It was an exact copy-paste from Zebi from Goo's last day. I thought it fitting, given the circumstances for our lynches were almost identical...

I apparently never got the 'I need to give the town pointers if I get mislynched' memo.If Manders wants some words of wisdom:

The noob/newb card shouldn't necessarily be an excuse for bad play but cannot be dismissed. If this was my third game or past, I would have lynched myself too if I were you. However, this is a Basic.

Also, I think that scum wouldn't identify their own scumtells for the town at lynching point and would rather watch what they say, but this is Mafia. Nothing is for sure.

Since I'm a dead townie- and know it, that brings you to 4 town, 3 scum. I'm not the RBer. All they need to do is RB Manders, submit the NK, and barring some sort of unforeseen oversight like me being an uninformed scum or something, Town=Scum, and you lose.

Heh. There will be no night.

    Good job, scum.

It happened to Zebi in Goo, it's happened here... enjoy the twilight, while it lasts.

@Mandershex: Except for the part where you are wrong, I'm town, there will be no night, and that's game

-Happy that I can stop worrying about Mafia for a while. Smile Not a demotivating game, but Ima stay out for a few months so I can focus on school and what have you.

-I get to laugh at the rest of the town's expense when I'm mislynched and that's game. Kind of like Zebi in Goo, I suppose.

    GG, scumteam.

    @Rag:

I'm not revoting Shalako yet. The reason I refused to vote him initially is that I apparently missed the last votecount and thought he still had a vote on him so if the one person on his wagon was town, three scum vote= dead town, GG.

However, since the last votecount, you've voted him (#1092) and I have seen an unvote, and I refuse to lynch without a consensus. IF you're town,I'm town, and on the miniscule chance that he's town, 3 scum vote and he's dead. Not taking risks we don't need to take.
