Ok, I appreciate it! My local gaming store has a huge EDH community, they're actually getting ready to play right now, and I'm thinking about getting into the format. Maybe I can practice playing with you guys and I'll be that much better when I play on Sundays
Ohh ya, I meant Nexus of Reclamation. Ya, it's pretty standard. Let me review what happened. Ok, I'll try 2 or 3 Demystify's.
He started with one Root Snare and drew another one on his turn 3. My turn 4 I had him down to 3 health. My turn 5 and 6 he root snared. Afterwards, he was able to start his Nexus loop. That was game 1
Game 2 he should have countered my Benalish Marshal with Sinister Sabotage. By turn 4, he couldn't come back and I had him.
Game 3 he had Wilderness Reclamation up by turn 3. He had 2 Root Snares, Blink of an Eye and Chemister's Insight in hand along with a forest. I couldn't keep up with him after that. I ended up getting him down to 2 life but he still had 2 unused Snares and Blast Zone (I conceded).
Just lost to a Nexus of Fate deck 5 minutes ago but it was a close match! I was playing White Weenies and went 1-2. I almost had him 2nd game. He was down to 1 life when he started his loop!
Son of a *****! Haha just kidding. It was actually a great match. I'll get em next time. He was actually a cool player unlike the other guy I lost against the other day.
*Edit
I added Demystify for Fate removal along with Conclave Tribunal. I conclaved his Fate but he returned my Conclave Tribunal to my hand before his loop started.
So in response, I bumped up my Demystify's to 4 copies instead of just 2 on my sideboard.
Haha a Mountain. I could see how that would be true.
I know the Thief of Sanity has helped many players out in their control decks but for me, it hasn't done a whole lot even with Tefari (the draw Tefari)
I'll have to try my mono white too with Tithe Takers!
Tonight I decided to make a Wilderness Reclamation/Mill deck as a joke and was surprised at how well it did. I went 5-0 on MTGO a couple of hours ago. Albeit, the deck is absurdly annoying to play against. So what did I do? I entered it into a tournament and, I kid you not, I faced the exact same deck only ten times better!! That was the first match! His isn't a mill deck though and just has a Carnage Tyrant to wipe you out and Callous Dismissal along with Mobilized District. But to annoy you, even if he can wipe you out, he'll just play spells non-stop and only after he can't play anymore will he wipe you out
So now I no longer want to play the deck anymore but only want to counter it. Do you guys have some suggestions on what types of decks play well against the Wilderness Reclamation/Nexus of Fate decks? The deck this guy was playing was crazy good and about turn 3 or 4 things really started getting out of hand. He played, I kid you not, like 5-8 turns back to back. It might have been like turn 4 or 5 but it felt like turn 3 since he had a couple Growth Spirals right away
I just want to be able to smash the next guy who tries that deck since it makes Esper Control look like a non-control deck. At least with Esper Control you get to actually play a few turns in a match
Just about 15 minutes of the entire match was him just playing his turn over and over and over again.
Thanks!

Yes, it was his turn 4 in game 2 of the match. In game 1, it was turn 8
I have a few friends on Cockatrice but not people who are willing to chat and play multiple games with me with any regularity
Any people willing to play matches and chat with me about Magic the Gathering, deck building and strategy etc.? I would enjoy having the same few people to play with weekly or even monthly. It helps prevent playing against that random guy who has an anger problem lol but it also helps people get better ya know?
I've found a local store to play events at but still don't have people to chat with about Magic. I've been playing MTG for five years now (Theros block) but haven't dabbled with constructed until recently. I was always intimidated by it regrettably.
I'm looking to find some friends on here, if I can, and just want to talk about the game, deck building, strategy etc.
You'd be surprised at how hard it can be! Many Magic players in person just want to leave immediately after their matches are up and people on MTGO are hardly ever willing to talk. I've played a LOT of MTGO (which honestly didn't help much with remembering abilities since it does a lot automatically) but a lot less in person.
Also is Cockatrice talked about on here or is that not allowed? I play paper Magic and have quite a few cards and I have thousands upon thousands of cards on MTGO so I do spend money on the game and prefer paper firstly, then MTGO and then any other way to play Magic in that order.
The reason I mention Cockatrice is because I use MTGO to build paper decks since it's cheaper. But certain decks get wrecked and I end up spending hundreds of dollars to find that out
Thanks!

Charnel Troll is good! I'm not sure I've pulled that card yet
Tonight I took down an Esper Control with white-green aggro so I'll try a fast deck against Nexus of Fate
My mono-red build isn't bad that I'm working on
Glad to hear there are some viable counters though!
Ohh, sorry. Nobody seemed to want to chat on the 3rd party board
Off to Standard I go!
I'm playing Standard constructed. I like your deck signature ha.
Modern is something I'd like to aspire to a few years down the road but Standard is my focus now
Do you mainly play paper or do you also play MTGO, Arena and/or Cockatrice? @italofoca
Thank you for the reply!

I just found out that the deck is Simic Nexus
