For the fall premiere set, this really disappoints. Roles are God-awful trash, something I would expect in a small capenna-style set. Likely there will be one or two broken adventures and the rest of the set is forgettable.
Celebration is awful. limted only ability that encourages bad play in noobies.
The two coloured rare adventures all seem great but will they find a home?
Aggregated data from last two months from all events show representation for rdw at ~10%, multiple decks with black running playsets of sheoldred amounting to ~20%, 5c at ~10%. Excluding smaller events makes this ~5% for rdw, ~40% for decks running 4x sheoldred and ~10% for 5c and esper each. Decreasing the window to last two weeks for all events shows something in between results from those two timeframes. Soooo there really is a question from where your "Red is clearly the best deck no question" comes from. Hmmm?
Thank you. Clearly that person doesn't know how statistics work and ignores what the meta is shifting to in the last 2 weeks. Only using what they probably see on Arena as anecdotal evidence. The shift in competitive play is to black black black (and the statistics prove it) and when that member looks in the face of facts has to resort to insults to prop up their invalid theory. When the bans come I will make sure to post up WotC reasoning (which they always include) right here to validate what I have said.
Show proof of these stats with links.i could make up random win percentages too. Also your numbers that you even list don't make sense. You first say ten% red decks and ten % 5c, neither of which run sheoldred. Then you say 5% red decks? Why did the number suddenly drop?
Also, even if there are a lot of sheoldreds being played, red is still at ten percent and sheoldred is pretty much the best foil for it in standard. What do you think will happen if she is cut?
This is the part I don't understand with the decision to extend the rotation season for Standard sets. This can all be solved if they had allowed sets to rotate out as they would have under the previous rotation schedule. But going three years instead of two is going to create a whole lot of problems and design won't catch up until roughly two years down the line.
You had it on last 60 days. Click it to last 14 days and you will see black right up at the top. Meta is shifting to black black and black in Standard.
Do you understand how stats even work?
Red is clearly the best deck no question. 14 days of data is not a valid sample size. You come off as someone who tilted vs mono black decks recently
You remove sheoldred from standard and do nothing to red and then watch a 50% red metagame for years
Sheoldred is hardly the card to go in standard. Mono red is the best deck in the format easily and it plays zero copies of it. In fact, sheoldred is one of the few cards in standard to keep red aggro in check.
Do I think this will make a splash in limited? Not really? This feels like a late draft force mainly. In standard? Defiantly, the format is slow enough that a value engine like this will be perfect. Where it will shine most though is the format it was obviously printed for, Commander.
Set isn't standard legal so that argument is meaningless

I was never a fan of the type
