Apr 25, 2009I like it. The mechanic, while a bad name, is clever. Solid 9/10.Posted in: Custom Card Contests and Games
Sivar Toff 1UG
Planeswalker - Sivar
At the beginning of your upkeep, put a +1/+1 counter on target creature.
+1: Target creature with a +1/+1 counter on it gains trample until end of turn.
-9: Gain control of each creature with a +1/+1 counter on it. Remove them from the game at the end of turn.
Next: Fix this card how you think it would be best done or do an evil mirror of Sivar.
Mar 28, 2009Whew. That is pretty nasty. I know they need to do damage, so they still hit, but ouch! What does that do to tokens? Still, a bit narrow in its use, so it may not see too much play outside of UW control (depending on the format). May be still too good to print at that cost, but I am not sure. 8/10Posted in: Custom Card Contests and Games
Wall of Halos WWW
Creature - Wall
Defender, protection from red, protection from black
At the beginning of your upkeep, you gain X life where X is equal to the number of cards in your hand.
Next: Make a new mechanic that breaks the mold for Magic
Mar 27, 2009Nest Egg 2Posted in: Custom Card Contests and Games
:symtap:: Remove a keepsake in your hand from the game face-down.
5, :symtap:, Sacrifice Nest Egg: Put up to three keepsakes removed from the game by Nest Egg into play under your control. Play this ability only any time you could play a sorcery.
Mar 25, 2009Wormspoil Rot BGPosted in: Custom Card Contests and Games
Enchantment - Aura
When enchanted land becomes tapped, its controller sacrifices it unless each opponent discards a card.
If Wormspoil Rot is put into your graveyard from your library, remove it from the game.
"It never ceases, its decay an unending threat to our lands and our sanity." - Iyia, Mhargesi Druid
Mar 25, 2009Hmm. Seems like Jotun Grunt. Without cumulative, it seems a bit strong. Being only 3/3 makes it easier to kill, though. Still, I think it should be double black. 7/10Posted in: Custom Card Contests and Games
Dense Plot 2R
Tribal Enchantment - Goblin
Sacrifice a mountain: Draw a card.
"It seemed like a good idea at the time."
Next: Make another card named Dense Plot, but think outside the box
Mar 23, 2009Boonfegor 2WWGGPosted in: Custom Card Contests and Games
Legendary Creature - Angel Elf
When Boonfegor comes into play, draw X cards, where X is equal to the number of creatures you control. Each opponent sacrifices a land for each card drawn this way.
An elf can always be trusted, and an angel will rule justly.
Next: Rakka Mar
Mar 22, 2009That works. I don't think I could see them printing that ability though, as it seems a bit taxing on the brain. 6/10Posted in: Custom Card Contests and Games
Towering Lithedex 1UUU
Creature - Beast
When another permanent comes into play, sacrifice Towering Lithedex.
UUU: Return Towering Lithedex from your graveyard to your hand.
Next: Create a Plane of your own, add some backstory, and give us a card with a new, unique mechanic.
Mar 21, 2009Wow. That is a nasty, nasty beastie. It fits the Timmy slot, but it is a solid creature with good abilities. Well-costed too, given all it has. 9/10Posted in: Custom Card Contests and Games
(Nonexistent mana costs can't be paid.)
When Lurking Doom is turned face up, destroy target red, blue, or white creature.
Creatures you control have Rending.
Lurking Doom is black.
When a creature you control deals damage to a creature, it deals damage equal to its power to each player.
Next: Give the Eten a keyword, or make a creature with Rending for the Greantish.

Until end of turn, spells you play that share a type with the removed card costs 2 less to play.
"They sing the songs of their own salvation."
Mar 19, 2009Simple. Mana-intensive, but no drawback. Just a bit basic. 7/10Posted in: Custom Card Contests and Games

Artifact Creature - Construct
5, Sacrifice Penta: Put five 1/1 artifact creature tokens named Pentids into play that have "Sacrifice five Pentids: Return Penta from your graveyard to play."
Next: Same challenge, but no Artifacts
Mar 17, 2009Posted in: Custom Card Contests and GamesQuote from XyreCultural Minister - UU
Creature - Human Wizard
Players can't play spells that share a creature type with a permanent they control.
"We value freedom, except for you."
Because if this card, I won't bother entering. That is just awesome.
Mar 14, 2009Rotspoil WormsPosted in: Custom Card Contests and Games
Creature - Worm
At the beginning of your upkeep, put a token into play that’s a copy of Rotspoil Worms.
Sacrifice a Worm: Put a +1/+1 counter on Rotspoil Worms.
Ashes to ashes, mulch to mulch.
Mar 8, 2009Basic setup. Good, if you can toss out enough critters, otherwise its just a 1/1 for 3. Fits the uncommon slot well enough. 7/10Posted in: Custom Card Contests and Games
Blazing Skizzik RRR
Creature - Elemental [R]
Haste, Backdraft 2
