I really appreciate the feedback. I used to play in a very competitive group and the club I'm planning to play at has both casual and competitive games. I don't mind what setting it is, I just play for fun.
The original idea was to rebuild both my Hannah deck and Rafiq. Yet I do have that Tuvasa deck laying around so I might just start from there. Bosh always has poked my interest.
sounds like a good plan, but i now what it is like to play in a group that has far more powerful deck than you do. It becoem sunfun. i am playing a Chndra tribal deck, i love it, it is trash but i love playing it. Still it gets dull when I cannot even attempt to win. I have to boost it but every time i try to, i realize I am removing the Chandra tribal aspect and instead just running Chandra PWs in a red deck. (Which if I still do not win will not be fun anymore)
meanwhiel I have a Dragon deck too, which often wreaks face. it is literally a urn sideways deck that is fast has a LOT of synergy. That deck i have fun with as it is on par with other decks. It may win more often than lose, I'm okay with that as I go against combo and control, both of which should beat a simple Turn sideways deck, but they don't. I have played games where i did over 100 damage to EACH PLAYER in a single shot.
if my decks always lost, i wuld not have fun playing EDH. (And it is even less fun to lose to the same person all the time)
All true, but exactly how many elves exist in white and black? Or even better yet, how many elves are non green?
As of this writing:
There are 39 white Elves, of which 7 are monowhite (one of which uses G/W hybrid mana in its rules text), 27 are GW (11 hybrid, 16 gold), 4 are RGW (1 with R/W hybrid) and 1 is WBG.
There are 34 black Elves, of which 15 are monoblack (two of which tap for G), 17 are BG (2 hybrid, 15 multicolor), 1 is WBG, and 1 is BGU.
And just in case anyone's curious about blue and red:
There are 15 blue Elves, of which 14 are GU (1 hybrid, 13 multicolor) and 1 is BGU.
There are 13 red Elves, of which 9 are RG multicolor and 4 are RGW (1with R/W hybrid).
Personally what I would like is Eminence that does not focus on tribe. Oloronis the closest with basically "eminence- at beginning of your upkeep gain 2 life"
Stuff like that.
Dino's are basically Naya (RGW)
Well, there isn't a hard, fast rule that Eminence abilities have to grant tribal benefits, but when the focus is on tribal decks, the Eminence abilities very much will be tribal.
I was judging on bother multicolor Dino's are Naya. One being "the dino legend" and one being just good.
So there are a fair amount of "non green" but the thing is elves still are primarily green and have a few good legends making a BGW is really begging. If you NEED a G/W elf go with Rhys. Otherwise chill, sit back and go with what you have. WotC may eventually print a BWG elf for you, but not likely and they will never do it in an EDH set.
Elves don't currently have any good commanders for WBG. The closest they have is Kethis, the Hidden Hand. And it would be kinda nice to see an Elf tribal deck that isn't just monogreen or BG.
GUR Elementals, that's a tougher case as we now have Animar, Maelstrom Wanderer, and Omnath. But I don't know a better tribe for GUR than Elementals (Maro feels Dinosaurs lean GUR, but we need a world with more blue Dinosaurs for a GUR Dinosaur Commander deck to happen). It's like when they made the UBR Wizards deck in C17; we already had Jeleva, Nekusar, and Marchesa, but Inalla, Kess, and Mairsil gave us new options, and Mairsil gave us a card for a character from way, way back when.

that is true. when you have tutors you go for your wins. I use to do that every game when i played arcum, get a turn where I can do what i want and then go off.

It is strictly a better tooth and nail. At 7 Mana it is in fact a tooth and nail, at 9 it is a entwine T&N and at 10+ it is truly superior.
Every now and then when I peek into this subforum, I see posts about tutors being banned (either as an actual topic or more commonly a post on a thread.
Personally I have no issue with tutors, but every now and then I am in a game where the one tutoring has no clue what they want to look for. This is the only time I have a problem. As they (the player) slow down the game. I run all 10 fetches in my deck, and I may end up taking a few seconds deciding which land I want to fetch (based on what I have on board and in hand.) I also run vampiric tutor, demonic tutor and tooth and nail in my deck. Every game I know what I am looking for when I cast these spells.
But still I see "ban tutors" Soni want to know why people wish to ban tutors so often. I want to hear the justifications to ban and not ban tutors.
Sadly the better ones are in the several hundreds these days. But there were 4 new ones released today. It could be a place to start and slowly upgrade as time goes on.
Or just pick a commander you like and buy singles and as you come into finds, upgrade. My buddy has been playing linvala for years. He had Okoro and thus at one time but they are deceased, meanwhile linvala is still in play. Another one of my friends played arbiter GAAIV for years and has also had a roon deck for years.
I use to rim about 20 decks. I now run 2, my dragon deck worth over $4500. And I just bought the jeskai deck and I am buying singles for volrath.
You have hundreds of options. As I said I usually suggest a pre-con but that is up to you. Some people don't like precons. Generally I do t, bit it this year's is basically them saying sorry for last year.
tetzimoc, primal death is something to look into. He puts prey counters on creatures. You never have to cast him. Just B add more toy your option of shapes
Without blue or black, the best unblockable creatures are not available to you.
Oh, I know. Honestly, that's probably a good thing, as Marisi would be absolutely broken with access to them. At the same time, when it really comes down to it, is there really that big a difference between Tormented Soul/Changeling Outcast and Soltari Foot Soldier? How often will your opponents be able to block it? Even Healer's Hawk will be able to get through on at least one opponent most of the time. And Bedlam makes all blocking a moot point.
I just want creatures that survive to attack again, but Lone Wolf and friends will often get in one hit and die.
True, but you at least goaded them so you are not getting a swing back.
Then you can hit them with a 1/1 since they have no defenders.
Why I would focus on is hitting all opponents. So none can attack you.
(Also in my meta, even flying can often go unblocked)
My biggest love of the Swords is that a single sword turns Marisi into a 3 turn clock with the right sword. Played against a mono-black deck on Saturday and after 2 swings with Marisi and Sword of Light and Shadow, they essentially worked for me for the rest of the game.
True. I'm hoping I don't actually have to kill anyone through commander damage once everyone starts swinging, but it is a good backup plan. It also protects Marisi from various forma of removal.
Siege Behemoth is worth more as he grants all your creatures that ability. (And it still counts a combat damage)
I had considered Rhox in my early brainstorming because it can regenerate (though 2G is pretty high, especially on a creature that's already a 6-drop), but the only one I included in the original list is Siege Behemoth. Like you said, it grants the ability to all your creatures, including Marisi; Behemoth also has Hexproof. Unfortunately, this super-trample ability is often a one turn deal, as it doesn't actually protect the attacking creature from the blockers' damage. In the end, I opted for cheaper creatures (three mana or less when possible) that can keep hitting turn after turn and bypass blockers altogether.
Without blue or black, the best unblockable creatures are not available to you.
Would give a vanilla commander that allowed me to run. Every vanilla creature. For my all vanilla deck.

I think it is broken but still interesting.

Surprisingly enough, Lone Wolf, Pride of lions, rhox, Tornado elemental, Thorn Elemental Wolf Pack, Spinebiter, Gurzigost and Deathcoil wurm are not horrible in this deck. They are not the best picks but they are not horrible.
