  • posted a message on Price not the problem with standard; Planeswalkers?
    Quote from urzassedatives
You understand that Pithing Needle went from ~10 bucks to less than 5 in M10 because of mythics, and is still a legitimate answer to planeswalkers, right?

I just wanted to point out that Pithing Needle most likely went down not from mythics, but because having it reprinted increased supply. i.e. Darksteel Colossus was a mythic in M10 yet still saw a price drop because of the new surge of copies into the market.

I find these threads kind of funny though, you know what you can do about prices? Stop playing Magic. Seriously, that's what I did. While I do have the temptation to buy cards every now and then, once you stop and do other things or have some plan for your money(I want to save up for a new computer). It's much easier to stop spending on Magic. I suppose it also helps that I don't hang out with the people that I played Magic with as much and I don't really like FNM. Have to say I'm might tempted to get some Realms Uncharted.... DAMN YOU MAGIC!!!

  • posted a message on Priceless Treasures in ZEN packs??!
Sorry but that's just about the dumbest argument I've ever heard. From what people have been saying, it sounds like Wizards got these cards off the secondary market since some people have said they've looked played, either that or some person brought their own cards in as a joke. It's not like Wizards is actually reprinting these cards.

  • posted a message on Washing your hands doesn't prevent Swine Flu
I found this post Ironic because there was an article just in the New York Times about how washing your hands can prevent swine flu. I don't really consider swine flu talk being overhyped. The media makes it overhyped but health care professionals just want to get the word out about it. Swine flu symptoms tend to be a bit worse than the regular flu and more virulent that's about it. Where the concern about the flu is, is that with the regular strain typically the very elderly or very young die. With swine flu, the range of death is mostly in the range in between. The age group that is generally most resistant to death by flu.

  • posted a message on Rotation Discussion Ban
Discussion on post rotation decks were banned and should've been banned because you had people talking about how Zendikar would change standard before any previews were shown which is just idiotic. At that point, I could basically surmise anything. And why not have discussion on Zendikar banned in the STANDARD forum when it's not in standard yet? You need a cut off point and you might as well have it be when it actually rotates in.

For some bizarre reason I really like that minotaur, I'm not even sure why. I was never a huge minotaur fan but something about the card and the art makes me feel like buying 4 of him. Plus I like the flavor text.

Wow this is a pretty neat land, I'd like to get a playset. Although if it starts to get really broken, I wonder if relic of progenitus would start seeing more.

  • posted a message on Travel to space is a WASTE OF MONEY
I can't remember off the top of my head but I just wanted to point out that a lot of the every day technology we use now was first researched for Nasa and for space travel. A lot of times people end up having very narrow mined views and equate space travel as literally just traveling in space, without thinking of the benefits that indirectly came about from the technology required to do so. Humans in general are a very short sighted species and I for one I'm glad we still have some people that are able to see farther ahead than most.

It seems like they decided to choose very iconic vampire abilities from the two they've spoiled, so I wonder if the third will have him bringing back dead creatures but with the vampire creature type.

Cascaded cards are actually played regularly, just like when you play other things from your hand. That's why you can use double negative to counter both spells, so memory erosion works for it.

  • posted a message on Obese, Overweight and Fat People in General = Lack of Sex?
@Zith: to be fair, where people say "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" is only half true. Sure some people have different perceptions of what they see as beautiful, but for the most part there is agreement in what people see as beautiful and it's actually ingrained in us from when we're babies. A lot of it, at least when we're younger, is as simple as better looking = more sex.

  • posted a message on Is Fox News lying to its viewers?
To answer the OP news reports shouldn't lie to their viewers, but they regularly do, especially pertaining to politics. It's up to the viewer to fact check and make sure what's being said makes sense. Unfortunately, the average American has only half a working brain so that usually doesn't happen.

  • posted a message on [ZEN] Day of Judgement (REAL!)
This looks pretty cool, it's making it a better chance I buy lots of Zendikar. Also, did people say for sure this is going to be the promo? If it is I'm definitely going. It'll be nice to get some wrath effects considering I don't own any Wrath of Gods. It might suck though that at our casual games my friends will start using them more.

  • posted a message on Which is batter - Knotvine Paladin or...
If you're going to be obstinate about it, don't bother asking the question in the first place. I don't mean that to be mean but you seem to be disregarding people's opinion without really sitting back to reflect on why they're saying it. First of all, yeah the Sigil can cycle and it can just as well cycle into another land. I would rather have a guaranteed creature than land.

Second the sigil is crap without a creature, can you play the sigil from your hand on an empty board and have it do something? ... no. Third while both cards encourage you to overextend the sigil makes you want to do it more. The Knotvine itself is a creature, so having it out with two others isn't so bad as having a Sigil out with just two other creatures. Finally the Sigil isn't any harder to kill than the Paladin because any cards that can kill a creature is going to be able to kill the Sigil and the creature.

  • posted a message on Workin on vampire deck
Jokulhaups has a pretty solid looking list there. No offense but he was right about your deck, it was trying to go in two separate directions. The megrim discard theme, with the beat down theme really makes it so that neither will be very good.

  • posted a message on Significant decline in Competitive Forum quality?
I totally agree with the naysayers. I mean they really need to make a place in this forum to specifically help people get advice on their budget decks. You know something like this The Budget Clinic - Your place for help with budget decks! . Personally, I think it's a travesty that they don't have anything like that.
