I hate that people will gobble up all these garbage DND, 40K and LotR sets.
Unfortunately you will have to get used to most of the newer generation of players being herpaderp cheerleaders who don’t give a damn about the integrity of the game. Magic nowadays has become nothing more than a cheap prostitute being exploited by WotC/Hasbro to grab money from wherever they can. Secret Lairs were the first step. Remember they were supposed to be really special and we’d only get a couple a year? This is the next step. In a couple of years those Tyranids will be facing off against Sponge Bob Squarepants leading his Nickelodeon friends deck versus the Disney Princesses versus Ronald McDonald the Clown and a bunch of Marvel Superheroes. The Magic of old is dead.
Just tell people you won’t play against their 40K garbage. Find people who want to play real Magic, the fantasy game. You are definitely not the only one who hates this. I’ll sure as hell won’t be looking at any of those joke of a cards on my Commander table.

Nom,nom,nom.
Also, why do you care what other people like?
Because they're being big mad children and if they can't like it, neither can we!
You (and many others) completely fail to see why people dislike this. Magic has always been a fantasy game. Boltguns, tanks, spaceships and the likes have no place getting mixed into a fantasy game. UB is an escalation of crossing a very undesirable line that started with SL. Since it’s a Commander product you could potentially be forced to deal with these themed cards whether you wist to or not because an opponent could plop them on the table at any given moment.
So this is not a matter of you not being allowed to like something. It is a matter of everybody being forced to like it or having to deal with it. If this was a stand-alone product not mixed into the rest of the game nobody would mind.
Nice cards, but with current prices for sealed product are these really cards we want to open as mythics in our packs? Most of the rares so far look like €0,50 junk as well.
The elf has a lot of potential to be popular though.
I don't get all the fuss. These frames don't seem like a bigger departure then some of the craziness in secret lairs or, to a lesser extent, masterpieces. Unless you just don't like any of that stuff, then fair enough. I'm not the biggest fan of these, but I like some of the others so I applaud them for trying off the wall things.
People were happy to get sketches as promo for MH2, but apparently make a refence to 80s design and everyone will be mad. Weird how consumer's mind works.
Because the sketch cards look like the Evolving Wilds in this topic and not totally different, right?
Nobody is mad. Just a lot of people don’t want these D&D variants. Vote with your wallet I say.

This Arlinn can not be a commander though. It is not a creature.

They should just have stuck with Hexproof and Shroud instead of introducing another dumb unnecessary mechanic.
It feels like they couldn’t come up with actual good new ideas and now we have this.
And that special frame version is one ugly card
