I think that heartmender is too slow to be really effective here, though it might be sideboardable in some matchups; I dont really know.

Kitchen Finks seems like something that ought to be in MD.

I completely agree that Finks should be in the deck. If nothing else, they make your RDW matchup sooo much better.

Does a fertile grounded land make 3 mana or 4 with reflection I am not sure.

It makes 3, since the fertile ground is what adds the extra mana, and the enchantment itself doesn't tap to add it.

    4x wall of roots

Good for the early game, though since it doesnt tap it doesnt give double mana later. Still probably a good inclusion.

Tokens obviously allow greater potential explosiveness, but changelings do have the advantage of not requiring you to cast conspiracy.

Then again, conspiracy makes for a happy spawnwrithe....and I love that card enough for any excuse to see it in action. It also might be a good idea to have a number of glittering wishes for a SB Rhys or Reaper King or whatever else you can think of. Tutors make this deck happy, and with glittering and idyllic, you can search out the major pieces right there.

Lignify doesn't work, he can still attack/block.

Correct, but since he has no abilities after being lignified, he doesn't get counters and, even if he did, he doesn't get to draw anything upon dying.

I could see it being used agressively with Unstable Mutation as well, actually. It works so very well with the urchins.

Out of curiosity, if he is pumped up when the ability triggers, does the copy keep the pumped stats, or does it just copy his base stats? If it keeps pump abilities, this + Tower Over would be good for repeated 6/6 trample wither guys.

    Am I being too optimistic?

Does not matter every card is crap around here until some pro wins a tournament with it than it is the next best thing since sliced bread. Repeat with each set.

Sounds about right for the most part.

It looks pretty good, though I am somewhat skeptical about Aquitect's Will. Frankly, Psionic Blast may be really good here. Also, if not maindeck, I would at least have some basic counterspells in the SB to deal with the ever-present threat of mass removal in the form of the two wraths and sulfurous blast.

I do like that this has many of the advantages of agressive merfolk and rogues, with the added bonus of card advantage from Sygg. Certainly worth testing.

Naturally the biggest problem with Primus is his mana cost and vulnerability to counterspells. That said, him + blink is pretty amazing indeed if you can get it online fast enough. Any specific deck ideas?

I think the creatures all turn into whatever the one you copy looks like. Since none of them come into play, you obviously cannot choose whichever option for all of them individually. Also, I believe that something was mentioned in the spoiler article about Giant Growth-type effects being also copied by Mirrorweave, so it makes sense that the P/T of the copied creature is exactly replicated in all the other creatures.

    Shard Volley > Shock
Gargadon/War Marshall may be too slow.
    Add acceleration (Rite, SSG)
    SB needs Shusher, Moon.
If you're concerned about (G/W), Blood Knight is good.

This doesn't seem like the kind of deck that needs acceleration since it doesn't have anything huge to play.

Shuser might be nice if it turns out that counter decks are coming back in force....I would go for either Magus of the Moon or Fulminator... that might be something to test. Gargadon is very good in this list since it can eat marshalls or even Maniacs once your opponent has blockers you can't kill, and it has always been a good alternate win.

Pretty basic list, but I have no doubt it will be brutal against anyone who gets a slow start.

It doesn't matter that the damage is prevented. The creature is still "that creature," and its controller still gets the option to discard & copy. Seems to work to me.

Really? Hm...I'll have to ask some judge-type about that one.

Oh, and not to beat a dead horse, but Dredge, while obviously more powerful, had its entire deck die to removal that is splashable in every color, forced nearly every extended deck to have SB hate against it and still went on to win a rather respectable number of major tournaments, so "it dies to removal" isn't enough sometimes.

Plus I would never play Swans until the turn I was ready to combo off, anyway.

Edit: Looks like Chain of Plasma actually does work, since the "deals 3 damage" and the "may discard a card" are seperate.

Because this + Chain of Plasma in Extended lets you draw your deck?

I read this and thought it was an amazing combo that someone had totally overlooked, then realized that swans prevents the damage, so you never get the chance to hit it with plasma more than once.:-/

Still, swans is probably not a good card outside of a deck made to abuse it. The "it isn't a good card without other cards" is a pretty weak arguement, since that is also true of almost everything in Dredge. I am definitely not saying it is as abusable as dredge, but thats a good example of when cards that suck alone can dominate together.
