Kaldheim could easily have werewolves, since they have some presence in Norse myths and legends.

I know that there are checklist cards that can be used in lieu of pulling a double-faced card out of its sleeve every time it needs to be flipped. Would it also be legal to simply use another copy of the same card in an opaque sleeve, then trade it out for one in a clear sleeve when it gets played?

I definitely think I'd enjoy this format if I got the chance to play it, as I love seeing set/block-specific strategies and flavor showcased. (I'm someone who really misses Block Constructed as a regularly sanctioned format.)

I see no reason why it wouldn't work as a fun side format, even playing from single sets, other than the likelihood of great power disparity among sets and a possible lack of suitable legends in older releases. (I wonder if you could get much of the same feel in a format that just uses 60-card singleton decks from a single set without any commanders needed...I should note that I'm probably less enamored with the mechanics of EDH than a lot of players are...)

  • posted a message on Need advice on very budget Goblin Aggro
The SBMtG video on this deck is part of what helped me get back into playing Standard! It's a fun deck that's served me well at FNMs. Some notes I'd make:

The 4 Goblin Barrage are a lot. I like the card, but Goblin Grenade or Flame Javelin could probably take some of the slots.

Squee is good and fun, but one of those slots could easily be a Goblin lord (such as a Chieftain) to pump the team a bit.

I think Mogg War Marshal is usually preferred over Goblin Instigator. YMMV.

There are some slightly better non-standard versions of Shock and Lightning Strike. You're probably familiar with most or all of the options, but I'd start by looking at Burst Lightning and Incinerate. Lightning Bolt, of course, is also there if budget allows. Finally, some folks are partial to Seal of Fire and Firebolt, and I really like Magma Jet...none of which are strictly better, but all of which might suit slightly different playstyles.

Good luck! I'd love to know the list you end up with and how it plays!
