This is my deck, which isn't exactly budget, but it's not super-expensive either: https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/ninjas-and-a-pirate/

From actual play Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive can do a lot of work with getting your commander and other ninja's through, while the various 1/1 unblockables are great vehicles to get your ninja's in, while cards like crystal shard allow for easy bouncing.

Hmmm, I wonder if fiery emancipation deserves a slot in my omnath, locus of rage deck...

This sounds like a bug. Shadowspear does not target, so neither hexproof nor shroud should stop it.

I think I might have mentally mixed together slippery bogbonder's art with another card (maybe duskfang mentor). That's certainly the closest thing I've found so far.

I don't think it was that one.

I'd already gone through all the human creature cards from both Ikoria and the commander set, but that turned up nothing, so I came here. At this point, I'm not ruling out that I completely imagined the existence of that art XD

The way I remember it it showed a female (I think?) character kneeling in a shallow river. Colors where blueish, with the character wearing a cap with decorations invoking an otter's ears.

To be sure, I'm not looking for an otter creature from Ikora, but for a bonder (aka: a human) that's bonded to probably an otter-like creature.

I distinctly remember there being art for a bonder of an otter-like creature in one of the Ikoria previews, but I can't find it again. Am I just misremembering, or does someone have a link to it for me?

Interesting, I presume Haldan, Avid Arcanist lets you play lands that have fetch counters on them?

Yep, which is nice because all the cards exiled with Pako remain playable, even if either or both of my commanders get killed, as long as I can put Haldan back into play.

I'll definitely be playing a deck with Pako, arcane retriever and haldan, avid arcanist. Apart from that, if they end up being reasonably priced I'll also get the tricycle lands for most of the decks that can run them. Apart from those, I'll probably take a look at the new dinos when I get around to doing another upgrade pass of Gishath, but nothing else jumped out to me as an immediate must-own.

What I suspect happened here is that the original card got cut from the set fairly late in the process (for set design reasons, rather than any problems with the individual card), but that they didn't really have another option for that slot in the godzilla series, and didn't wan to lose it there. If I had to guess, chances are reasonable that it'll be printed in the upcoming core set, or potentially one of the other commander products coming out this year. If it's in none of those, then it'll probably take a couple of years as it gets slipped in the files for sets currently in the early stages of production.

The point is you make the behemoth! They don't start as behemoths - you need to mutate them into one.

    Does power/toughness stack from mutate?

No, but there are quite a few mutators that do give some form of P/T boost whenever they mutate.

I don't know why, but I'm not a fan of these lands. Don't get me wrong, they are incredibly useful and the art is great, especially on the showcases, but something tells me that the three land types are going to lead to something going awry.

As I understand it, it mostly means that there are a couple of fetches that could egt these lands that otherwise would be limited to mostly basics. However, there are also dual lands (and I don't just mean the original duals) that have multiple land types, and they didn't break anything, so I think these will be fine.

The only thing I dislike is that they're probably going to eb too pricey to be put in every deck I own that could run them XD

Flavor fail(we don't have lukka as a human and i doulbt he would have menace dot dot dot ). Also sad Lukka's tiger isn't legendary or have menace, shame. The cards are good tho.

I think you're misreading the intended flavor here. I don't think it was lukka that had menace in that picture :p

I counterspell/destroy/exile/edict your commander. Over and over and over. To the point you now have such a high commander tax, that you can't cast your commander from the command zone. Do you have other cards in your deck that rip the commander from the command zone to your hand OR do you fold?

There's a big difference between 'I play one spell to tuck your commander, I hope you didn't need him' and 'I play half a dozen spells to keep knocking him back in the command zone, I hope you didn't need him'. In the second case, at least it took a concentrated effort, rather than a single blue spell.

It gives the card an extra option. Frankly, a 7 mana 6/5 isn't particularly good, but with the cycling option at last you can cash in on it early game to fix your mana if you need to.
