Dang, I'm 0-2 for those. Forgot the second ability would be shut off on Devoted Druid, and also thought Cryptic Command tap targeted. I'm not very good at this game.
Down on: Damping Sphere
Storm has not seen much play in while, and for the time being Tron isnt very prevalent due to all the turn 2/3 decks running rampant.
Pithing Needle doesn't stop Devoted Druid, but it can stop their Walking Ballista or the werewolf guy who's name escapes me. Phyrexian Revoker has been really good for me, and it get's to attack. Also stops mana abilities, in lieu of stopping land abilities.
Barkhide Troll seems great, as well. I feel inclined to put him in the 3CMC spot, though. Lower the curve further. He makes the grindy match-ups better.
I don't think new Leyline Of Combustion shuts of Altar Of Dementia win because they will mill you a couple times with Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis until they're tapped down and then push 20+ zombie tokes onto a Carrion Feeder and one-shot the rest of your library. Does cause them to require another piece of the puzzle, though.
Hm interesting. Do you ever transform Garruk, or do you use him exclusively for his day-side abilities and maybe get a transform if your opponent walks into it?
If your intent is to transform, I wonder if Heart of Kiran is worth considering. You’ll often be able to crew it from a summoning sick creature or by taking a counter off garruk, transforming him.
I picked up some Heart Of Kiran to test, but haven't used them. The maindeck has thus far felt super tight. Every card pulling it's weight in the role it was intended. Garruk Relentless has been awesome in multiple ways, I had him in my Stompy SB off and on. Sometimes he's just removal. I've ultimated the dark side a few times, used him to tutor for a specific out a few times. Even had a light and a dark side both in play in the elf match-up two days ago. His damage ability lines up really well against Deputy Of Detention, and making a 2/2 without ticking down can fog a big creature like Death's Shadow until I draw something more tangible.
I semi-retired Stompy when Modern Horizons came out. I've been piloting a quite different Green Aggro deck to consistent 4-1 results on MTGO. I posted a list like this a couple pages back. If ya'll would prefer I start it's own thread I can do that, but figured I'd post it here. Can discuss card choices etc more if you would like. I will say Hexdrinker has been absolutely insane.
This actually is a reasonable counter-measure for a few combos in Modern, which Red didn't have. It stops the new Altar Of Dementia deck from milling you, and it stops the Vizier Of Remedies deck from shooting you dead with Walking Ballista. Also a good card against Jace, The Mind Sculptor attempting to lock you out with +2. Not sure if it's good enough, though.

I'm curious what everyone's Graveyard hate spread looks like. Dryad Militant doesn't pull much weight in the Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis / Altar Of Dementia match-up. I was using Wheel Of Sun And Moon for a while, but reverted to Grafdigger's Cage in advance of expected Allosaurus Rider / Neoform / Griselbrand decks. Perhaps a split with Relic Of Progenitus will be better. That card is far better in the fair match-ups. I always want to see it in my opening hand.
Looking forward to trying Veil Of Summer, as it stops Cryptic Command fog which is a big nuisance.

Can cheat out a Chancellor Of The Dross that was in your opening hand if a "pitch" black deck ever comes about. Name has a nice ring to it.
Can also sneak in a Mephidross Vampire to combo with a turn 2 or follow-up Walking Ballista but that deck sounds like a stretch.
It fits in any tribe, and taxes removal. Humans comes to mind, but that list is pretty tight. Spirits, perhaps.
