So much for my Urza block inspired abilities predictions. You know, I'm actually surprised that Berserking your entire field wasn't something that happened in the Urza block.
A power pump that's curiously difficult to get rid of permanently? Just pretend that it's a throwback to Rancor and your theory is intact.
An all-star in Ib Halfheart decks. Sure, you can use it to just force their entire defense onto a 1/1 as you alpha strike them, but where's the style in that?
I'm pretty sure this is the first card that flat out says your opponents can't make you discard cards. Plenty of individual cards can get value from themselves if they're discarded, and there's recovery options like Spiritual Focus and Library of Leng/Nephalia Academy, but I don't think there's anything else that's basically a Tajuru Preserver for your hand. Which is funny since this is also a Tajuru Preserver.
e:
??? Random? Her abilities are not random. It's about protecting your options. You can't discard or sac, preserving your hand and requiring other answers to your board state. You can dig for specific remedies from your library. After digging, and/or if they answer your board state through another means, you can Regrowth what you lost. Her entire card is synergy.
This is going to be the most built Boros Legendary in a month.
A month from now, not a month after release.
Honestly as hype as I am for this card I don't know if I agree.
EDH Spikes will still want OG Aurelia. Same with Timmys, except with additional competition from Gisela. Johnnys have Firesong and Sunspeaker to have fun with.
Feather as a commander is for players who want to derp in a still-weak color combo. I'm sure there's a hundred silly things you can do with her swinging a Sunforger (and I plan on trying them all) but I'm interested to see at the end of the year how many players will stick with playing non-Aurelia Boros.
I don't understand why people are so excited for this card. It isn't that good of a card. Standard and Modern wont play this. Is it that good for commander? Did she have some sort of lore that people are all silly about?
It's both. She does things in Boros that other Boros commanders don't, essentially giving the least tricksy color with the least amount of card advantage an avenue for both. As for lore, she's a character from back in the original Ravnica block that people have been waiting to see a card for. Combined, that's a slam dunk for the Commander crowd.
Can confirm, as a commander player I am currently dunking
Several hours before I thought to myself... that the only thing that can ruin Feather getting a card for me would be her getting an ugly art, like something spiky, angular, spread-eagled from Wayne Reynolds.
And here we are...
I want to hug each and every one of her glorious spikes for letting me do something new in Boros EDH
thank you, Mr Reynolds
thank you, Wizards
Do not be mistaken, I LOVE her getting a card like any hardcore Vorthos
Both Feather and Rebound have replacement effects. If you control two replacement effects that happen at the same time impacting the same card you choose which to keep and which to ignore.

Plenty of people don't like them because they're too enabling, but I like how they accelerate the table but break parity for you if you build your deck right. They're basically grease in my favorite colors and there are so many options for building with them.

This is 100% my answer. They're hands down the best designed group hug commander and kraus highlights why: hug's biggest problem is making political trades that they come out ahead on while still not attracting hate and the Kings do that by themselves every turn. From a design perspective they do exactly what the archetype needs most and it's impressive how cleanly the designers stuck the landing.
It’s also important to remember that many of the “random” walkers probably don’t know what’s going on. So Angrath may show up and be courted by Bolas or he may just show up, try to leave and be unable to and get pissed again and just start amassing an army of his own with that stealing creatures magic from his previous card.
I prefer to think he's kidnapping zombies in an effort to punch his way home. I'm going to keep pretending this is the truth unless his signature card proves otherwise.
Besides, I'd be pretty shocked if both Lili and Gideon made it out alive.
Mostly I just hope Bolas stays dead this time and the story can move on. It's my one wish.
The trailer and bolas card makes it look like he wins. Can’t wait to see how he loses.
He's probably going to cast The Elder Spell, ascend to his ultimate form, then get attacked by Gideon and Niv with combined hieromantic powers letting the Blackblade boop Bolas' soul. That way we get all the dope cards in print but the story still gets to kill off the villain and move on to something new.
I hope. I don't even want Bolas dead from a villain standpoint. I'm still salty that Time Spiral, a set I loved and still love, is when the silly comic book resurrection happened.
Yes. By the time Rhonas would regain its abilities it'd already be in a different zone. The tuck trigger would never go off.
e: I was wrong. Your opponent, as controller of the affected object, chooses which replacement effect to apply.

Because the price of foil mythic angels is bad enough as is

Aluren -> Fblthp the Lost -> Cavern Harpy
Throw in an Essence Warden to mitigate the life loss I guess
