    It’s going to be something like this. Grinding game 1 in every round of draft for 45 mins is the least fun experience I can imagine. The only way to do this set successfully and flavorfully is flipwalkers with some variation of all minus abilities.


    Except then are are just basically creatures with modal ETB's. Where's the interesting new mechanic there? I really hope it's not just that.


    I think it’s likely they start as walkers and flip to humans.

    It’s interesting to me as a variant on the current way we view flipwalkers.

    It depends on how powerful they make the walkers. If they all have minus abilities and flip into legendary creatures when out, its not too bad.

    If they are straight up planeswalkers, emblems and everything, I would imagine there will be a huge amount of removal/suppression.

    If there is a walker in every pack, and assuming different rarities, there will be STACKS of uncommon bad planeswalkers.

    I am betting on flipwalkers for every planeswalker.

    Rosewater essentially confirmed it by talking about the “Crazy” element in the set and alluding to it in other comments on his blog.

    You would get every walker as a legendary creature trying to regain their spark after Bolas stole/suppressed it with the Immortal sun.

    It would stop games from being grindy, limit mana issues, and keep you from having to print 30 new planeswalker kill cards.
