good. the folks at wotc may **** up on aesthetics, design and storyline a lot, but at least they don't go around banning things idiotically (most of the time, i mean)
i ask cause i really liked this Memory Lapse, and it´s so rare for me to prefer a new version of an old card that I really wanted to mention it. (not that it's amazing, it could be better, but among the vast pool of insipid new art we usually get, it stands out a little little bit)
edit: altough, to be fair, the Mirage one has quite a lot of flair, but it doesn't mesh well with the abhorrent new border (oh Blue, you were the one to suffer the most...)
that damn banhammer smashing all over the living room again
that's boring as ****; the game is rotative, just let it be, the seasons change and so do the decks.
the overall problem is one of general design, not of specific cards. it's not even power creep, just power segregation and power simplicity.
No, the 'game' is not rotational. The point of a format like Modern is that it simply doesnt rotate.
The format Standard, is rotational. Forced bans, are rotational, of a sort.
C'mon dude, think a little bit harder about what i said. Y'can do it.
Jund is still here with us. When does it rotate out?
maybe around when affinity rotates to not even pack a card with the ability's namesake and becomes a counters deck based around a GREEN enchantment, but oh wait that happened already, after happening N times to all decks of the format.
Think of waves. It's very simple.
edit, cause my post probably implies that i dont like pws - not true, i actually think it is a very nice addition to the game's design, but they erred immensely in character construction. for starters, why the hell everybody's a pretty human? wasn't this a fantasy game a minute ago? did i walk into a teen marvel series? even bolas lost his ******* dragon face somewhere in the middle of all this.
like, what, humans are the white people of the multiverse and kill everyone that's not one with a spark? c'mon man, it's such a great idea to actually have these other "players" you can summon but then they look like the guy at your next table (or the girl that some of the guys wish were at the next table...)
Some thing that has been said a lot of times. Wotc wants magic to be a disney/animation movie but not including Shrek, and other fantasy with non human characters. It is all about inclusiveness...
#WhereismyCephalidPW?
plot twist: Shrek is an immensely better protagonist than Jace
oooops
(and oh yes, lets talk about all that inclusiveness when the main dumb team seems cut out of the closest generic jeans model catalog and the only black mfcker in this is idris elba fanfic... oooops)
Noticeably, Aminatou and Estrid are also missing and they are relatively new. While several others on the 36 are just as green as them, Aminatou's power level is considerably higher.
she's one of the best characters introduced in ages, so yeah, of course she's not in this (which is nice, cause this is a boring ass storyline)

the ****, these are amongst my favorites of the list
why dont they update this ***** to only contain the cards that are actually worth something? i couldnt care less that some cards are officially collector's items, but there's some that need at least another 40 years to be cash makers. damn.
anyway, i'm working on having an entired proxied collection, for my enjoyment and to not have to look at awesome cards in these *****ty modern borders, so oh well
That's the first time in quite a while that I see yet another Urza's Saga card that I'd never seen before. I was a big Spike during that time, so I only played super competitive decks, but still. I opened at least 3-4 boxes of Saga, half of those from prizes. I actually opened the packs. Maybe I opened that card and just don't remember it? I know the distribution was way different than nowadays. (For what it's worth, I only remember 2 Gaea's Cradle in all of those boxes/packs. ).
i love the spike feeling, but i'm also so very into trying to make functional decks with all kinds of cards. it's a pity that these kind of cards a la noetic scales are (mostly) a thing of the past.
Man red had so many interesting enchantments back in the day, really unique effects. Honestly there were a lot of unique enchantments earlier in magics history. Aegis of honor would be such a beating against burn.
right? despite me thinking that they still do a mostly fine designing job at wotc, they ****ed up abandoning enchantments; it was an amazing design slice of the game that allowed for great complexity and unique effects.
and yeah, i think that W should get even more love as the taxing/sideboard master color of the game, and aegis would immediately add some spice to the modern landscape
posted this in the rumor mill thread, but i guess it's just gonna get buried there, so might as well share it here.
these are all the rare cards that i believe would be nice/interesting/fun additions to the cardpool. i'd certainly love to brew around/with them.
(idgaf about the reserved list, so i dont know if any of these are in it, but i'd guess that the large majority isn't)

btw, does anyone know how do link the card image, but with an specific priting, and not just the latest (which is default)?

oh YEAH, a Cephalid PW would be bonkers

took them a while but here it is

but as long as new cards are added to the format, it's only natural that more and more decks are born. with new decks, comes new metas.
