I ended up editing a terrible card noone would use directly out of the master base. Will get overridden when a new master base for Fates Reborn comes out, but that will solve the problem.

The old thread(s) used to have a spoiler-link that would allow for testing before the full spoiler was released. Really I'm just looking to do testing with Ugin, the Spirit Dragon. I tried using the Card Creation Wizard in the program but couldn't test with a non-integrated set.

I assume I have to generate a card spoiler text file? Is there a FAQ I'm missing that enables me to do this?

You can always always ALWAYS call a judge to randomize a deck instead of your opponent. This has been true for a very long time.

If your opponent refuses to riffle shuffle your deck (after you ask them politely not to), call a judge on them that they are damaging your cards. And the judge will either appoint a judge to shuffle the remainder of the match (they won't be happy about this, but will do it) or they will ask the shuffler to shuffle with a different method "pile shuffling."

I have heard that shuffling by combining two halves of a deck at the sides does as much damage, ifnot more as riffle shuffling. And that pile shuffling is the only way to shuffle without direct damage to the cards. Anyone else hear about this?

I play Vintage because its the cheapest format.

Every weekend in New England (US) has at least one Vintage Event within 2 hours driving distance that use 15 proxies, meaning power is not necessary to be competative. I think this is what heaven is like.

I started by purchasing blue staples (brainstorms, fetches, forces, mystical), then bought "off-color" cards (yawg will, Demonic Tutor, vampiric tutor), and then I'm down to 15-20 cards I need to acquire to make a "competative" deck with 15 proxies.

Now we (our team that shares cards) are slowly accumulating playsets of Power to attend Gencon (The American nationwide run Sanctioned/non-proxy Vintage Event). As it stands, we started competatively playing magic for power 2 years ago, and we've won 1 1/2 playsets of power.

"budget" decks that don't use proxies, which are competative are often harder to come by, but the plus, is areas that do not allow proxies often have aggro oriented metagames, which stomp many "competative" power using decks. (See: Deezenaughts crushes Flash & Oath)

If you're looking for MD Fish hate in "off" colors ie. W/G

    Thorn of Amethyst (Anything gushy)
Samurai of Pale Curtain (Saves you against Flash)
    Goyf (trumps other Fish)
Suppression field (hoses Flash if revillark, which they will be MD, and stops fetchlands)
    STP (this one is a no-brainer, but slows/stops Oath/Flash/Gat/Shops)
Abeyance (again stops/slows Revillark Flash, and Yawgmoth's Will turns)
Aven Mind Censor (hits everything you care about)
Jotun Grunt (is "ok" now, if you need extra bodies, its better than savannah lions, but I would prefer a goyf over a grunt anyday.)
Mana Tithe (is actually silly good, if just for the potential threat value.)

In my opinion, a tempo oriented deck should run the majority of these. Good luck!

The Workshop claim is tempting! As Workshops are dangerous to play at this moment, I'm sure one of our teammates will be piloting some workshop abomination!

I'll be bringing 2 -3 peoplem for sure!
