I didn't care much for Banishing Stroke before they changed the tuck rule. I tried it and it was usually terrible, 6 mana it's expensive for removal of a single target. Getting it for miracle cost was ok but didn't happen enough to warrant having it. I think I took it out for Oblation, which in turn became something else after the rule change.

I admit I still run Zombify in Bladewing the Risen.

I think this is the best use for Shsde's Form. It is a very niche use but isn't that why we play edh?

I had this in Bladewing the Risen for a bit, it performed poorly most of the time. My version of the deck also loves to cheat things in from hand. Naturally I assumed having this in the deck would be great! It wasn't. Even when it had 9 counters on it, it left me wanting more. Sure blasting things for 9 is nothing to scoff at, but, that is all it does. There are just too many options for dragon decks that are better. That being said I do still like Kilnmouth from a nostalgic perspective. And it is undeniably fun to cheat Kilnmouth into play with Sneak Attack reveal two or three other giant beaters and then chat them into play with Sneak Attack and just crush things. He still gets a slot in my deck from time to time when I want to power it down a little further than it already is.

Fortunes is the most common, and playable of the cycle, although Murmurs milling eight is pretty insane in 'Yard decks. This is fine as far as the scale for colourless removal goes.

Now see, you've gone and made Putrid Imp so very very sad now. You should apologize to him!

I offer my most sincere and heartfelt apologies to the amazing Putrid Imp. I love the Imp, and still play it in most of my reanimator decks. I have a copy that a friend drew a chalice cape and crown on to turn it into the Pimp Imp that I use in decks.

On topic: I've never seen this Tower in play. It seems like a card to at least consider for mono green since the mana to activate it is pretty easily doable in green. Other posters mentioned playing it with Seedborn Muse which is just wrong.

I have used Zombie Infestation as a discard outlet in every reanimator I've built since it came out in Odyssey. To me this is the gold standard of discard outlets for graveyard decks. 5/5 from me.

I love this ugly thing. The Hedge Mage has always done super solid work in my decks. Feels good to pop two dangerous permanents. When I had my Boros deck as an ETB deck I had serval games where I took out huge chunks of enemy boards with it. I recommend playing it in any Boros deck, at least to try it out.

I like it in theory. I've never had a deck that I've thought it would fit though. I see it fitting in best in a token deck, maybe Darien or Odric.

If you squint real hard and **** your head a bit to the left you can almost see a spot for it in Toshiro Umezawa. I think if the cmc were 3 I could see it seeing play in a Dimir Spellslinger deck but that isn't my play some so I'm probably wrong.

seems alright in a Omnath, locus of mana deck as a Nykthos, shrine to nyx mana generator and also as a great mana sink in combat.

I had it in my Omnath v1, prior to Nykthos being released, it was actually pretty terrible. It was useful a few times but they were the exceptions rather than the rule, I can't see Nykthos making them any better.

I tried the Champ in an early version of my Mono Black reanimator deck for nostalgic reasons, it was pretty underwhelming. Having 40 life is too much of a cushion for it to be effective. Only having a 3 toughness was also hindered it, despite being able to regenerate it still dies to a lot of common removal line Black Sun's Zenith and even Last Gasp which sees far less play than BSZ.

Overall is say it was a 1.5/5. Cost is too high to hard cast, life drain is too low to be much help and 6/3 with regenerate just doesn't hold up well in a format that has a plethora of easy ways to drop that 3 toughness to zero for very little opportunity cost.

My turn 1 I played a Mishra's Workshop, Sol Ring and Smokestack. Next turn I sacrifice zero permanents, put a counter on the Smokestack then play Great Furnace, Mox Opal and Mana Crypt, I tap everything except the Workshop and drop Rally the Legion. 5 or 6 other players scoop in Surround Sound. I drew the Rally that turn, my original intent was to play Elspeth Tirel to feed the Smokestack.

Sudden Spoiling - It can fog, it shuts off abilities, and it's really hard to respond to. Player with indestructible creatures decides to wrath? Make him join in the suffering.

I love this card. It is so underrated. I used it serval times to totally screw over other players. Watching someone lose a Blightsteel Colossus to their own Damnation gave me a serious case of the 'feels good man'.

Time Stop is probably my favorite panic button. It just stops damn near everything. My only regret is it is a one time use spell.

They are a great starting point. They need tweaking to be able to keep up with decks constructed by players. The Black/Green deck with Meren is one of the better ones and can be pretty damn good out of the box. Since you are new to the format they will be pretty valuable as learning experiences for deck construction and improvement, it shouldn't take many games before you begin to see the weak spots in them, which will help when you begin to build your own decks. EDHREC is an amazing resource when combined with our own Decklist Database.

I have given thought to using Breya as a Myr commander. You lack access to Green, but meh.
