Empty Square watches as the dummy gets shredded. "Yikes," he says. "Okay, well, let me know if anything changes with the elemental. I'm going into town." He starts to head out.
Empty Square smiles. "Indeed. For now, since I'm just getting started in the Izzet, I'm going to almost have the colors working independently. The blue is still there for counter purposes and summoning creatures, and the red is mainly offensive damage. I also don't have much space for everything as of yet. As my ability to handle multiple spells increases, the time aspect should eventually work its way into my system."
"I've given it some thought. There are a lot of ways to go about it. Since a lot of my current spells revolve around countering things, I thought about trying to continue that route, maybe by trying to Delay certain spells. The truly motivated mage would look at every possible time aspect that red and blue has to offer. I'd have to spend some time sitting down and looking at all the different strategies involved. I'm sure you'll agree there's a lot to look at."
Empty Square raises an eyebrow. "Seems like we just had a temporal hiccup there. Not as serious as when we first caught the thing -- this only took a second. I guess it's toned down the looping."
"Alright, thanks." Empty Square walks around the room once, looking more closely at the details on the walls, the carpets, etc. After a moment, he goes to the closet on the far side of the room. It is empty...for the moment.
"Time for the changing of the guard," he says to himself. He takes off his jade coat and places it on a hanger in the closet. "Almost seems like the end of an era," he says. He then takes the Izzet coat Xile gave him and puts it on, looking himself over in the body-length mirror. "It stands out well against the undershirt," he says. "I still have the question marks, but now I have dragons too." He smiles.
"Well, now that we have a new wardrobe, let's go see that elemental." He heads out to meet up with Xile.

"It has a very nice view," says Empty Square, taking a look around. "Yes, I like this very much. It's not too fancy, but it has enough flair to look impressive to the casual observer." He nods in approval. "I think this will do nicely."
Empty Square checks out the coat. "This looks nice," he says. "Not too gaudy, lets people know I'm an Izzet member...this is good. I think I could get used to wearing this."
"Hmmm," muses Empty Square. "I like the dragon motif. Dragons are neat. Red isn't exactly my favorite color to wear, though. Do you have something that is mostly blue with a little red for accents? With a dragon motif, of course. Oh, and preferably something that's not a robe. I don't like robes. I like coats, like what I'm wearing right now."
"Well," muses Empty Square, "I'm rather fond of the question-mark collar, but it wouldn't hurt to browse the wardrobe. What sort of garb does the Izzet have to offer?"
Empty Square ponders for a moment. "The only thing I might need to bring here is my box of spare spells, but beyond that, I don't think there's anything. Come to think of it, that stuff can stay in Lat-Nam. I make enough trips there anyway. I think I'm ready to go."
Empty Square meets the woman's gaze. "What do I think? I think I'm interested. It's about time I settled down and found some consistent work. Working with the Izzet should give me what I'm looking for."
