    Well welcome then @dm3pine!

Really liked your observations on the deck and the differentiation you made between a more controlling shell and a midrange one.

Unfortunately big mana and combo has always been a weakness to Emeria as we're mostly a tap out control deck. But that's why I think force of negation is very clutch in this type of deck. Of course to use it it comes with deckbuilding restrictions, namely increase our blue cards. Your build and @marinojuk's build rely heavily on white so it might be a bit difficult.
I've been experimenting with soulherder and watcher for tomorrow and I think the match up against those decks became much easier. I remember Tron and scapeshift being my nightmare and now I haven't lost a single game against them (although only played 3 times against Tron and 2 against scapeshift).
I think every build has its merit and it depends on the meta you're facing aswell. For example I took the Ranger captain of eos pack from the deck to make way for the more blue value pack with force, but I felt the pain specially in the match up against mono red prowess which seems to be a very popular deck where I play.

Meanwhile gonna do some more games this week (finally with charming prince) so I'll let you guys know how it went ;p

Hey @kopikopabarcelona, glad to know you're giving the deck another spin :b

In regards to the deck it looks like a solid emeria build!

Never played with the spell quellers before because I always thought there wasn't much value in something that could be removed later, but with the Teferi soft lock and restoration angel seems interesting. Let us know how it goes!

I also agree that one or two more detention spheres make the deck better as a catch all response to anything they throw at you.

About the creatures I would probably trade the thraben inspector for something else as I think it's better used in conjunction with Ranger captain of eos. A card I really like and play in my builds is watcher for tomorrow. As if you have a couple of blink effects it can be used to great effect despite now drawing a card straight away.

In regards to the mana base, if you want budget options consider Prairie stream and irrigated farmland ;which I still run in my build with fetches and shocks). But as you said it's a work in progress so take your time

Hope you enjoy the deck and when you win some games make sure to post all the info here ;p

Personally I don’t like to dip into 3 colors but that may be because there’s a few ponza and land destruction decks in my meta.
About the deck in itself I think it lacks some good old fashion walue (as in card draw). Charming prince is a fantastic 2 drop but in the early game it’s not as great as a draw from a wall of omens, and that’s pretty much the only draw engine you have. In my opinion there are a few too many flicker effects for the targets you have. Renegade rallier isn’t my favorite card either as each time I tried using him it just feels underwhelming and only works if we’re falling a bit behind. It has good sinergy with Sakura tribe elder but I don’t know if it’s enough as even the elder in a blink deck is a bit “off” even if it’s good to get to our late game plan.
I hope I didn’t sound to harsh or anything As every new has it’s merits, but as I don’t have that much experience in those colors I prefer to give you the reasons why I stick more to the UW version :b
Still if you take it for a spin make sure to put your results here as I’m sure everyone would like to know how it went!

    Hello value friends!
A couple of weeks ago I saw SaffronOlive playing a slightly different version of our typical UW Emeria which he called Soulmeria. For those of you who are not aware of this version, it basically trades our more controlling elements like planeswalkers and wraths for pure walue! Like the name suggests, the engine of the deck is Soulherder and Ephemerate.
After being on vacation and not playing modern since our buddy Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis was legal, I tried giving my version of this deck a shot yesterday.
    This is the deck:

Quick notes: all the lone missionary are to be substituted by charming prince as soon as he comes out!

First of all let me just say I really loved the deck! Went 2-2 but I feel like it could have gone much better
I the first game, against Jund, went 2-1. First game got stuck on 3 white lands for the entire game, so not much to be done. Second and third games were the grindfest we're acustumed to. I got the upper hand on game 2 with a very long game, he got the upper hand on game 3 with a more explosive start.

Match 2 was tron and I won 2-0. The match-up with this deck feels much better even pre- sideboard. Between the force of negation, venser, shaper savant to bounce lands, and the biggest train of walue with watcher for tomorrow, ephemerate and soulherder, e felt like I always had the cards I needed to win.

Match 3 was scapeshift and I also won 2-0. MVP in the entire games was venser, shaper savant, which single handadly gave me game 1 by just bouncing lands (it was turn 8 and they had 4 lands after ramping every turn) and by bouncing the last green source they had on EOT when they had just casted summoner's pact. Trust me. It felt goooooood

Match 4 was Whirza which I had never played before. I lost 0-2 but felt that post sideboard should have won if it wasn't for the big mistake of not keeping up counter magic to protect my stony silence.

Having said all this, what do you guys think of the deck? Had you seen it before, had you tried it?? Feedback is always appreciated!!

First of all congratulations on the 3-2 as it's still very positive result taking in account the decks you faced :b

About Jace, I think it is worth the shot as long as I start saving some money to buy him so it might take a while XD my list is a bit different than yours but I think I can slot him somewhere. For example I use my hex parasite main board while you use it in the side, which in hindsight I think that might be more correct given my current meta and in general.
I also like the revokers mainboard as it answers many problems in the format. For a time I ran Sorcerous Spyglass mainboard so I totally get it. But seeing your list that seems very aggressive, the only thing I could suggest would be perhaps considering the change from wall of Omens to watcher for tomorrow. It doesn't get you the card straight away but in my experience it's a great card and the ability to see 4 cards deep can't be understated!
Also between dovin's veto and force of negation. What's your opinion on that one given that you're using them mainboard?

About the sideboard my questions would be mostly regarding celestial purge, the 1 graffdigger's cage instead of other from of removal like rest in peace (as they both affect us) and the crucible in the side vs main (as in, why keep it in the side and when do you bring it in).
The rest seems like a very consistent list and you explained most of it quite well :b

About the debate over the second island, I believe that running only one seems to be the right call as the on y time you might want a second basic island would be if you're playing against ponza and they are stripping you of everything (but honestly, if it comes to that things are probably not in your favor). So getting to 7 plains consistently with only 5 non plains excluding emeria seems good!

It seems like a neat deck focused more on disruption and a faster clock @D90Dennis14!
My worries are mostly about the disruption creatures and wraths as they usually don't go so well. i prefer for my creatures to do their effect and if they die we have no repercussion. It also means you can't use them as chump blockers wich we often want as a late game deck (even though your version is more proactive).
Also Geralf's Messenger seems a bit heavy on the black, meaning playing him on turn 3 is preety much impossible and even turn 4 requires good fetching and loss of life (as well as a bit of luck). Have you seen more disruptive creatures which arent as mana intensive in black?

It seems like a neat list @treesgobark!
I'm quite interested in the 3 Jace, the mind sculptor as it's a card that i've been having a debate with myself oer putting into the deck or not. I'ts clearly super powerful but as it doesn't have the synnergy of the rest of the deck, i just wonder if it's worth the money XD
How is it performing for you? Could you give me a bit of insight over it's use?

Never tried the black splash before but it does seem interesting!
My only gripe with it is that it transforms out deck from a mainly value deck into a more disruptive deck, and between that and a WB death and taxes or eldrazi and taxes I think that one would be more consistent in those colors.

About some cards you talked about: lingering souls is an amazing card, but for a more beatdown deck as it doesn't bring us any value from it. It is great if you want beaters but I think the edge our deck has over others is the long game grind and value and lingering souls doesn't provide that.
Unearth is also a sweet card but I prefer it in decks with heavy discarding and faithless lotting and stuff because ideally wI anna bring 3cmc creatures in turn 2 and not just use a one time spell for value.

That being said I still think it could be Done, but every time I dipped my feet into other colors like green and red, I always end up coming to the WU version because I feel like it's just so good and consistent by itself :b

But keep posting ideas and something might come of it ;p

Also sorry for not having links but I'm on my phone right now and can't put it

    Hey there!

Just played at FNM tonight and went 3-1 with WU version so gonna give my feedback on the matchups.

First match played against GB rock and won 2-0. Overall had good draws and outgrinded him. Supreme verdict when his board was getting full was key and the "combo" between a turn one thraben inspector and turn 3 soulherder was really something that gave me the game. Always used path to exile on scavaging ooze on sight and it went of well. Brought 2 force of negation from the side to prevent more graveyard hate or planeswalkers that I couldn't respond in time and took out one lone missionary and one thraben inspector. Overall felt like a balanced match-up with the grind being on our side.

Match 2 went against infect in a very close game but lost 2-1.
Game one went along and I managed to kill all of his board except a blinkmoth nexus. Never saw a path or a field of ruin and lost it like that over the course of some turns.
Sideboarded in 2 runed halo, 2force of negation, 1 settle the wreckage 3 dovin's veto.
On game 2 he was going all in for the turn 3 kill with 10 infect on board but force of negation saved me like it was pure divine intervention! My opponent went all in that attack and then a detention sphere on gliestner elf and then a blast zone on one detonation was enough for the win.
Game 3 was in my opinion the best mulligan to 5 my opponent could ever wish for: 1 fetch, 1 noble hierarch, 1 teferi, time ravaler, 1 gliestner elf, 1 blinkmoth nexus. Teferi turn 2 completely shut the option of using my 2 path to exile on blinkmoth nexus and eventually I drew the field of ruin but he top decked another blinkmoth. Overall it sealed the game as I had no answer to teferi protecting it.

Match 3 went against Jund and won 2-1 in a very close game.
Game one won the battle of value just o like match one against Rock. All star here was Gideon Blackblade that applied pressure while providing me with lifelink for other creatures and even exiling a tarmogoyf late in the game that could take over.
Game 2 decided not to sideboard anything in and kept removal heavy hand. Thoughtseize turn one revealed it to my opponent, which played around it and played a liliana of the veil that eventually ultimated (didn't see creatures basically during the match) and the game dragged a bit even after that but dark confidant was in play and it was too much value to keep up.
Game 3 was the roughest and grindiest. Ended up with my opponent doing an assasin's trophy on detention sphere to bring liliana back not realizing he had just gave me the 7 plain for both my emerias in play. It cost him dearly and he never recovered from it. All star in this game besides emeria was crucible of worlds, bringing fetches every turn to thin my deck and keep building to emeria, watcher for tomorrow and soulherder combined (great team!) and giver of runes protecting me from certain death several times by providing me with an undying blocker.

Match 4 was against a fellow emeria player but one using Martyr Proc. Won 2-0 without much trouble even though they were the longest matches (I swinged for 23 in a turn and didn't even take half of his life out!!)
Game one he was mana screwed and I just did my thing and won.
For game 2, Sideboarded in 2 runed halo, 2 rest in peace (which I brought as a panic button to use in case things weren't going my way. Had it from turn 1 in hand but never played it as the game went in my favor. My opponent clearly though the same and brought RIP as well but I was ahead on board and it hurt him very much too). Runed halo on turn 2 preventing his Serra ascendant from killing me was super and wraths at the right time were key to winning a match up which with the card advantage we have, becomes easy if you deal with the greatest threats.

Overall that was it! The list I used is the same one I posted a while back and I felt very good with the deck! The new cards from modern horizons really had a chance to shine and i felt like they were great additions to the deck.
Only change I'm going to make is to put a third force of negation as I think it's crucial against unfair match-ups and taking a dovin's veto out for it doesn't seem like the end of the world ;p

Congratulations on getting your deck featured in MtgGoldfish @Marinojuk. Very impressive stuff ;p

Couldn't see the whole stream but hope to see the replay later!

Personally, I'm not that excited about the caves as the horizon lands did the same and never excited me either. Our gameplan is to have lots and lots of plains, so every land I put that's not a plains needs to have a very good function to do it, and drawing a card by sacrificing it when all our deck is already geared towards that doesn't seem optimal.
But let's keep seeing the spoilers to see if our deck gets some much deserved love ;p

You convinced me to give Gideon Blackblade a try @Chantu9Y ! I'm still not sold on the Fblthp, the Lost and i'm currently goin with Watcher for Tomorrow. I think there's a good debate between him and Wall of Omens but digging 4 cards deep so far in my testing is quite good. Also oponents get scared of attacking into it cause they fear what might be underneath XD
The changes i made to my new list were basically putting more targets for Ranger Captain of Eos, as i had Giver of Runes and Hex Parasite, and i think having 2 more Thraben Inspector is ideal.
So far this is my current list:

    @huzzah hussar

I first put champion to fight control, as a late game engine that can't be countered. So that was the main reason to have one. Over time I decided to put a second one for 2 reasons : first, I'm trying to put creatures with more power to end games more quickly (namely burn and Tron which have an inevitability that we don't. The second reason is that it is basically one of the best cards in modern right now on a body (faithless looting). With this I not only have card selection but feed the graveyard for a later titan or emeria. I still think court hussar is a great card and the clear better top deck, therefore decided to go with a split of both, one more for late game in the grave, another for top decks. I won many games thanks to champion of wits coming back from the grave when we were in top deck mode so I think it's a worthy card to consider.

About any more general tips I really don't know how to help XD but if you have any question lingering I'm happy to do my best in trying to answer them!

This is the UW list i'm planning on running as soon as Horizons hits:

    What do you guys think?
I decided to cut the Wall of Omens cause right now i feel what this deck needs is a bit of pressure to end games quicker when getting to emeria is just too slow (like burn and tron and stuff like that). I also decided to put a copy of Hex Parasitecause i feel it can deal with many troublesome planewsalkers (not Karn though) and hardened Scales as a bonus. And the fact that it's fetched by Ranger-Captain of Eos makes it even better. For the same reason i decided to try one Giver of Runes, just for some protection on the end game for titan.

I'm not really sold on vesperlarkcause it's a leave ability that just doesn't seem that impactful but i'm always open to suggestions from you guys :b

I think our time has come in Horizons!

First Soulherder! I think it's the early game engine that has been missing. Besides the ability to become massive in the late game, it blinks something each turn. That's just pure value!

Also Watcher for Tomorrowseems quite interesting, being a better Court Hussarbut only when it leaves. i think Court is still the better top deck, but i would open the question of playing this instead Wall of Omensbecause it's a body that can pressure a bit more, and has better card selection at the cost of speed of drawing it.

    What do you guys think?
